We scheduled a wedding photo shoot and the day of they canceled. I took the day off work and lost income. They weren't able to do wedding photos on a Saturday(Saturday's are the day most people do their weddings) They took our money and never mentioned anything about their cancellation policy. We decided this company was not a good fit for us. They will not return the money we requested, we don't want another shoot just the money back. This place is the worst. We paid their 'sitting fee' over the phone, received no receipt, they cancelled on us the day of 'sitting'(photo shoot) after my husband took the day of work and lost a whole day's pay. We decided they were not the right photography studio for us. I kindly asked for our our sitting fee to be refunded, was given the run around, the receptionist said they would call me back, never did. Finally I asked my husband to call and try and get a refund for the service we paid for but did not receive and the receptionist said she tried to call me and she emailed me, I assure you they did not try and call me back to fix their wrong, And I never submitted an email address to them so in addition to getting our wedding photo shoot canceled the day of the shoot... after my husband took the day off of work, because they could not do a wedding photo shoot on a Saturday!?!? They lied and said they reached out to me and emailed me. I never provided them with my email address. They never provided me with a cancellation policy/when they cancelled on us. This is the most unprofessional photographer I have ever had to deal with and as a stylist I can tell you I deal with many shady photographers, and I also am a service provider that also provides personal services. I would never treat people like this b/c reputation means so much. This place is the most expensive studio in town and the most Shady! Shame! Shame! read more

Traveled from NC to have family photos taken for my mother's 80th birtday. After waiting two months to receive photos, they arrived. (Had to be sent twice, first never arrived after I had to remind her to send). They are the worst. Photos are out of focus, eyes closed, even the rug on the floor is a wrinkled mess. My husband was on crutches and studio is not handicapped accessible so she suggested we take the photos outside against the brick wall (wind was blowing 30 mph). I would not recommend using Angela Free to capture your life's most precious moments. She was rude and very unprofessional. My fiancé and I set up a consultation to go over with her staff about what we were wanting as far as photos. The day before our photo shoot she called saying that she didn't know what we wanted nor did she have a location for us to use. When we finally took pictures she had us do the same pose over and over in three locations that were about 10 steps away from each other. Ever time I told her to take a picture she dismissed my idea. When we finally went to purchase pictures I had a few photos with hair and my face and she said she could not remove it. Overall she was rude and only cared about getting paid. CAY read more

I booked my wedding with Angela last year and have done several shoots with her since and every piece of product and sessions have been above and beyond. I have never in my life dealt with a more unprofessional group of individuals. We hired this studio for our wedding and I wish I could go back in time and not make that mistake! Up until the point we paid, everything was great...then we paid in full several months in advance and that's when everything changed. The girl at the front desk can not answer anything, she might as well be an answering machine. Then when you leave a message you will not receive a return call, you will have to make a second call days later. We also ordered engagement photos a month in advance to be displayed at our wedding, these pictures were "lost" and they brought photos printed from Walgreens to our wedding! And when they did show up to our wedding they were 2 hours late! They didn't even tell us about the photos being printed from Walgreens until we saw the print on the back of the picture and called them out on it! They were just going to hope we didn't notice, but we did. The excuses are never ending and they are like a bunch of spoiled 10 year old girls playing photographer. Use any other company but this one... If they are your only option still don't hire them. Just give your 12 year old niece a cannon camera and turn her loose at the wedding, it would be less of a nightmare then dealing with studio 1401. read more

I came to Studio 1401 to have professional photos taken of my baby girl. Angela is not professional at all. She took her shoes off and walked around barefoot during my first meeting with her, which I had to pay $75 for. Then on the day of our photo session,, she had my baby sit on this dirty old sofa and a dusty old chair. I was not pleased at all! I almost wanted to leave! Then while she was taking shots, she would SHHHHH me when I would try to talk to my baby to comfort her. She took only about 15-20 minutes for our photo session because she said she already had some good shots. The photos were not that great. I ordered a large photo for a center piece in my living room, but the whole top half of the picture was the wall. When I ordered, she told me that she would crop the wall so the picture wouldn't be mostly wall. She didnt fix it. My husband did not come to our photo session. All he saw was the photos afterward, and he was not too happy with them for what we paid. Her photos were very over priced for the work she did. Angela or her staff never called me to let me know when my photos were ready. I would just have to call periodically to check on them, even though I had already paid 80 percent of the total. Sometimes I would not hear back from them. I felt very unimportant to them. I would not come here again in the future! read more

It has been a nightmare working with Angela. She tries to charge you for every little thing and she charges BIG TIME MONEY! She suckers you into buying the most expensive packages and pretends to be your friend, then once you pay she under delivers and the quality is not great for the money you spend. She was suppose to edit some of my pics but when they came in she didn't do what I asked and tried to play it off as "this is what you wanted" and still had the nerve to try and charge me over $200 to fix the mistake that SHE ordered wrong, not me. I've heard a lot of complaints about her and desperately regret hiring her for my event. There are some photos that can be redone and there are some like wedding day photos that can't but she doesn't care as long as she got paid. The advice I've been given is don't take crap from her, stand up for yourself and your money; after all she's working for you, and get everything in writing, and be specific on what you need her to do because she will take you to the bank. And yes, they never get back to you on time and you always have to be hunting someone down. Worst business ever. STAY AWAY!! read more
