Sunday night, while packing my belongings, I accidentally missed my UA time by about an hour. Shortly after, I received a text in the house group chat from Ryan Young saying, "You need to UA now or we will throw all of your things on the road. This is not a Motel 6 or a storage unit." That was completely unprofessional and disrespectful. The staff themselves told me to remain there until Monday, so to be threatened and humiliated publicly in the group chat was unnecessary and degrading. I would honestly have preferred staying in a Motel 6 than dealing with that kind of treatment. This program lacks compassion, professionalism, and basic respect for its residents. I don't recommend it to anyone.

The overall company was trying to get the most money out of my insurance as possible. I started off in the sober living facility and during Christmas time, I had covid over winter and had to take NyQuil and that was the first excuse for forcing me back into a rehab program that was not needed. My reason for being in the program in the first place was that I had 18 back to back surgeries over the past 4 years and was on opioids for a long period of time so this was a way to detox in a safe environment. There was no psychological addiction, just physical dependence to opioids. They lied about multiple addictions to medication(amphetamine addiction) that I was prescribed since childhood and used it to get more money through insurance. They also lied about an alcohol addiction, when I am medically intolerant to alcohol. When I got back to the sober living after this time I was talked about poorly among staff members and called "attention seeking" for asking for a few days off in order to visit 2 dying family members. Eventually someone in the group had consumed alcohol and told the staff which upset another client due to the unfairness and favoritism. This upset client gave me alcohol without my knowledge or consent and afterwards told the staff that I was drunk. This other client had been upset and doing things like this for 2 weeks prior to this incident. I believe he did this in order to prove a point that they will send people they dislike or with good insurance back to rehab in order to get more money. This client later confessed to me he had put alcohol in my drink without my consent and I had a reaction to the alcohol and was placed back into the rehab facility. I was put on addictive barbiturates and unnecessary medications for 2 days before my insurance denied coverage due to fraudulent services. The alcohol level was so low that there was no logical reason I needed to be there. I was then abandoned as a patient had had to find a new place to live in 2 hours or I was out on the street. Remember it's just a business. They don't actually care about you. They left another 2 of my friends on their own where one eventually fell into a coma following her abandonment. Something else they did was contact my pharmacy and told them never to fill any of my prescriptions ever from any doctor. I was no longer under their care at all. I'm a disabled person and this made it very difficult to obtain medication that I needed. This is a HIPPA violation for sure.

He's supposed to be doing physical therapy and we see no difference. He also has had no TV for the last several months they keep saying they're gonna fix it but they never do. They never pick up the phone when you're trying to call and gather information on the status and health of your parent. every time you call to talk to a doctor they say that they'll call you back and they never do. the management staff is incompetent and my dad is not getting the level Care that he needs there. The kitchen staff does a excellent job creating tasty and nutritious meals. The administration staff walks the fine line of corporate needs and patient needs. it is necessary to advocate for yourself at times, but that is actually a healthy part of your rehabilitation process in my eyes. I was a patient here for over a month, during that time I met some amazing people on their staff! One thing to consider when you're coming from a hospital environment or a critical care unit, this isn't that. You won't get a 2 second response on the call light, and your needs may be met in order received. be patient be understanding, be courteous to the staff and it will return to you tenfold. be sure to ask questions, advocate for yourself.

All of the family were past the point of giving up- and we just patiently waited for any sign that she was ready for help, at some point we never thought it would come! When she text me at 3 am that she was ready - I knew I had a small window of time to get her somewhere before she changed her mind. Getting her into this detox- was much easier than any other place I had tried previously. The communication between admissions, staff members, and I was not only consistent but reliable and easier than I could of hoped for. Sending her here was our families last hope that she could get better. Not only was my mom treated with such love and respect but at some point didn't want to leave due to the compassion she was shown throughout her stay. She was detoxed with regards to all of her pre-existing conditions and was able to sleep comfortably every night. She would call me and cry - telling me how grateful she was and that she didn't feel embarrassed of her age and everyone made her feel so comfortable. There was nothing else in the world I could have asked for then knowing my mom was taken care of - after she got settled - my family and I could finally breathe knowing she was in great hands! My mom is still clean today and has finally been able to slowly build relationships back with all of my siblings. I will always be indebted to the work and passion Giving Tree staff and management did for my mom. It not only saved her life- but also gave us our mom back!!

The food was often unappetizing, bland, cold to bad. While the medical care was five-star, the dining experience could use significant improvement. Overall, I highly recommend Sherman Oaks Rehab for its excellent rehabilitation services and dedicated staff. If you have a loved one staying here, I highly recommend bringing in outside food or snacks to supplement the meals.

It is owned by Longwood Management, a corporation with 38 rehabs in California. Of those 38, 13 have 1 star Medicare ratings and another 12 have 2 stars. 66% of their facilities are rated by Medicare as substandard, due primarily to serious health department violations. Longwood Management operates this way intentionally. Poor care improves their profit margins. When the health department heat becomes too much at one facility, they move dangerous staff to another of their properties. That's happening now at this facility. Patients and their families - beware. And add the California Department of Public Health to your contacts, because you'll be opening investigations into this place frequently. Know that the allegations against Longwood are most often substantiated, thus the 1 star rating with Medicare.

The nurses and activities team are attentive, caring, empathetic and patient while assisting and communicating with patients. There are many activities for patients to take part in, and you'll always see a large group participating on any given day. While walking the halls, there is no shortage of staff members initiating a hello or asking if you need assistance in finding a room or specific person. The facility is very clean throughout on a consistent basis. You know when you have a loved one here, they are in good hands.
