After watching my Mother in frustration with her technology, and trying to help explain how to operate her technology, I called for reinforcements! The team from Students for Seniors empowered her to be more productive with her artistic photography endeavors. She transmuted her previous state of why is nothing working right to a more dignified state of this is easy and fun. The help she received built her confidence while her custom operating manual designed by Students for Seniors has become a valuable support tool. Students for Seniors inter-generational approach to learning is an effective and beneficial avenue! Kazarian co-founder Encouraged by family and friends, this small start-up was officially co-founded and launched on the 1st of June, 2014. Today, it operates out of the Lead To Win's Startup Accelerator Program in Carleton University. With almost a dozen qualified tutors across the Ottawa-Gatineau region, Students for Seniors Inc. is ready to assist anyone who wants to get the most out of their gadgets and computers.

Meet the Business Owner: Haik K.

Having spent his childhood and early adulthood immersed in the world of computers, Haik realized that there is a definite need for some of the older adults to catch up to the ever-growing digital world. "I saw two major problems: 1) There is a really big knowledge gap between the older and younger generations 2) Students are struggling with student loans and balancing work and school The opportunity to solve these problems in the 'two birds, one stone' style came to me during one of my university classes: train and employ qualified university students to teach seniors about modern technology." It is now Haik's passion to empower through technological literacy all seniors and anyone else willing to learn.
