Horrible! I advise you to STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! The 2 men who showed up to move me in November of 2023 introduced themselves by saying they expected a BIG tip. They STOLE FROM ME. Boxes and boxes of things are missing from my move - including a large metal footlocker filled with things that belonged to my deceased son. I stupidly didn't think to check the back of the truck before they left. I tipped them each $200 (under duress), and they showed their disappointment with the tip. They broke and scratched up my furniture very badly, and didn't wrap anything but one piece. Never again will I ever use or recommend them. I advise you the use them at your own risk. I should have filed a police report, but it was several months before I was truly unpacked and realized how much of my things are gone. read more

Disclaimer - I have not hired this company. However, today, I am glad my things were not in the rear of their truck. I witnessed the driver on College Drive get in a left turn lane and change their mind, cutting a hard right, crossing two lanes of traffic with oncoming cars who both had to slam their brakes and almost collided with my car to avoid hitting the truck. I then noticed they had turned around in a parking lot and almost clipped another car turning back on to College. The driver was laughing while doing this. I deduce that they missed their turn and were turning around, but there's a much better way to do than nearly causing a major accident on a major thoroughfare. If they are that careless with company equipment, I don't want them touching my property. read more

Try to reverse the charge now I have to call the police and make a police report. It is a big hassle they are full of crap. Do not use this company whatsoever. Professional customer service and affordable. Student Movers was the first to promptly answer my inquiry for a two week out move, for me in, and the price quoted was reasonable. I was a bit frustrated on moving day as the movers' arrival was 2 hrs late despite two confirmations of arrival time... I think maybe they overbooked or the first move was bigger than anticipated. Took 1 hour longer than I did to move from origin to destination, which they said was bc of traffic. That being said... i was not charged for the extra time and I think they may have used that time to get lunch (well deserved), which I was going to have delivered at destination site (no way they could've known that). In the end, I was satisfied with the quality of care to my items, the customer service experience, and the price was very reasonable. I have only hired movers once before and it was not good at all and also had a tough time finding from friends a tale of a pleasant experience with many local companies... Absolutely the WORST. We scheduled our movers 2 months in advance WITH YOU DAVID, and you confirmed our appointment. On the day of and time we scheduled no one showed, and we called them over 6 times to finally get the answer that he didn't put us on the schedule. The WORST customer service I've ever tried to deal with, it's just one guy answering all the phones and he doesn't answer. This entire company is a complete scam. read more

I decided to go with this mover after reading all the great reviews online however our experience was not good. First, they didn't show up & when i phoned to find out why they were not there, I was told the workers had left for the day & they couldn't get to me until the following day. Luckily friends had helped us clear our storage unit to avoid another months rental. We have moved all our clothes, bathroom toilettes & food to the new house that morning but we had no beds. We had to return for the night to sleep at out old house with no food, toothbrushes or personal bathroom items when we discovered they were not coming. Second, they did show the 2nd day and send 3 guys who were very polite & good workers however I had to pay for a third guy; not discount was afforded after they messed up. Lastly, they did not wrap the fragile items like our previous movers such as the TV. Later that evening I recovered a tear in couch & my TV was damaged from being lifted from the top. I didn't bother filing a claim because their contract pretty much said they wouldn't pay anyway. I don't usually give bad reviews however when it comes to your belongings & reliable service....this company cannot be trusted. read more

Wish i could give them no stars. They showed looked at the hottub and said we can't move that. Try to arrange a tip before doing anything. I can 3 times and told them the hottub weighted 870lbs so they would bring enough help and the right kind of dolly. read more

Hired these people to move my son from an apartment he'd rented for 4 months while he was renovating a new home. Pretty easy move from Floor 1 to a raised house with 5 steps. The two guys were efficient and worked quickly and wasted no time. Finished in 3 hours! Would definitely recommend them! read more

Student Movers in Baton Rouge did a fantastic job for us. Two guys came in and moved all of our big furniture items from our house to an upstairs apartment. The moved our items quickly, but efficiently, with ZERO damage. One of the movers was Stewie and he is excellent at what he does. When we find our new home, we will not hesitate to call this company again and request the same movers. Very impressed. They were also honest and up front about their rates and we had no other surprise charges on the final bill. read more

Moved from a three bedroom townhouse to three flat. Kevin and Jake showed up early and immediately went to work. They were fast, careful and polite. Moving from out of town is trying and an emotional drain. Student Movers bears that pain for you. Moving from over 200 miles to Baton Rouge, their staff arrived in a timely manner, called to let me know they were within an hour, replied to texts and phone messages to confirm the date of the move. At arrival, they were loaded within a hour and on their way. At the destination, they moved with speed and efficiency. I had always thought picking up a a self service mover was the best option. But with that, you get nickel and dimed as they want you to rent blankets, pay for insurance, rent dollies, refuel, etc. Student Movers didn't nickel and dime me. Their price was well within reason, did not exceed their quote and was worth every nickel. I would use them again if needed. read more

This is the moving company I was referred to. Great group of guys. I heard nothing but good things about them. Unfortunately, I got duped by Starving Student Movers, aka S&S Movers, who are from Mandeville and not Baton Rouge. Please be alert since these guys are awesome but the folks from Mandeville damaged my property, stole my money, damaged the new floor of my home and then gave me a different price after the move in order to release my furniture. read more
