We've owned our Sego home for about a year, and nearly all of that year has gone to chasing…read morerepairs. Some of the problems were there on day one. Many repair appointments were no-shows, and we lost a lot of hours waiting. We saw trouble before closing. At our pre-closing walkthrough, fewer than half of the items we'd flagged had been fixed. We pushed closing back because of it, and some items still weren't done when we signed. After closing, the superintendent seemed surprised we'd closed at all, and the house clearly hadn't been cleaned before we moved in. Here's what we've dealt with since: water coming through the ceiling and walls and ruining furniture; leaky doors because the storm doors were never installed; most interior doors needing rework just to latch; a heater vent left open under the hardwood (since fixed); wall sections that were never painted; damaged cabinets and cracked shelves; a faulty thermostat; a bent window well that took several tries to fix; and landscaping that wasn't properly replaced after their crews worked on it. The concrete has been the worst part. They couldn't get the big stains out, so they painted over them. The painted surface now holds dirt and scratches easily. The concrete also cracked, and the cracks keep growing. Their repair attempt made it worse, and now the whole thing has to be replaced. If you're looking at Sego, go in with your eyes open and get everything in writing.

We signed a contract in May 2019 to have our home built and they promised it in 6 months. They also had great incentives at the time we built, their design center in Draper was awesome as well as their interior designers were nice. I have to admit that there was more than a few rough parts in between the build during the months but with our emails and constant bugging, they were able to fix it. Needless to say, they were able to complete our home within 6 months and we were moved in. Awesome location and awesome builder!

Emily came through my house to advise me on things like which art should be left for staging and which more eccentric pieces should be packed.
