Definitely a fan of this location as it is between work and hotel and on a beach. Good beers on tap, friendly staff, and good snack food. If you are working in Petten (for some obscure reason :)) and are looking for a place to grab a after work beverage and admire views of the north sea stop in and enjoy! read more

Upon arrival at this café a lot of people were sitting on the terrace outside, and still the café refused to serve outside on their own terrace! Even while there was little to no available space anymore inside the café. In my opinion this already shows the bad service this café offers, but when we were standing on a part of the terrace that the waiters considered closed one of them did bring up the energy to come outside and ask us to stand 2 meters to the left. We were just looking for a spot and were not standing in anyones way. The spot the waiter asked us to stand was actually in the middle of the path to the door! I have never been to a place that disrespected it'is costumers in this manner. As you all can imagine, I have no idea about the beer or the food, because we left. read more

Strandpaviljoen STRUIN is een paviljoen met een prachtig uitzicht naar alle windstreken. Volgens velen de mooiste plek aan de Hollandse kust. Waar anders kunt u zó heerlijk eten met het strand, de zee en de Schoorlse duinen als een levend decor om u heen? Door de verhoogde ligging op de laatste duintop kunt u het hele strand afkijken tot Ijmuiden aan toe. Rechts van u de majestueuze Hondsbossche Zeewering, het beeld van strandjutter Simon Gutker en het weidse achterliggende polderlandschap. Een fantastische stek, zowel bij mooi zomerweer met ondergaande zon, als bij storm en een kolkende zee. STRUIN (voorheen Paviljoen Minkema) is dit jaar geheel vernieuwd met een eigentijdse en smaakvolle aankleding. Een gastvrije plek om in een ontspannen sfeer lekker en betaalbaar te dineren. Established in 2012.

Paviljoen Minkema[1] is een restaurant op de grens van de Schoorlse duinen en de Hondsbossche Zeewering. In 1929 begon Ype Minkema begon in het cafeetje van Antoon Peeck als zelfstandig kastelein (caféhouder). Ter vervanging van het in 1932 gesloopte cafeetje bouwde Ype Minkema een groot hotel-restaurant aan de Heereweg in Camperduin. Door een bombardement tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog in 1942 werd dit gebouw verwoest. In 1947 bouwden Ype en Gerben Minkema een noodrestaurant, dat in de watersnoodrampnacht van 1953 in de golven verdween. Op dezelfde plaats bouwde Gerben Minkema in 1953 een hotel-restaurant dat in 1964 in vlammen opging. Er werd dat jaar een noodrestaurant betrokken wat werd uitgebreid en verbeterd tot in 1970 opnieuw het noodlot toesloeg en het gebouw tot de grond afbrandde. Direct na de brand in 1970 werd begonnen met de bouw van weer een café-restaurant dat in de novemberorkaan van 1972 geheel werd verwoest. Door storm- en brandgeweld werd ook deze geveld maar dit ma
