You can't really drive through to get a michelada with beer inside... but you can drive through to get a Clamato Preparado with a beer ON the side. So I bought one of those suckers ($8?) and was about to drive off when something caught my eye. Smirnoff Preparada. What the heck? Turns out an SP is a 20 oz smirnoff icce, with gummy bears, chamoy and chile inside the beverage. Then on TOP of the beverage, more gummy bears, chamoy and chile. Obviously I had to get one. It tasted like sh... nothing good but the gummy bear chamoy concoction on top was delicious. All of these things are an acquired taste of course so feel free to experience this madness on your own.

This Walgreens is one of the oldest in the Rio Grande Valley, yet it doesn't show like it is aging…read moremuch. It's very well kept and always looks organized on the inside. This is also one of the few Walgreens that is opened 24 hours a day. I've had to come here before at extremely late hours. Other Walgreens in the surrounding area aren't open 24 hours, but this one is and that makes it very dependable. There is a Redbox on the outside of Walgreens, which makes it ideal to rent movies when you have nothing to do. This place used to be the place were I would buy video game magazines, as their magazine selection is extensive. However, I tried doing that recently and I couldn't find a single one. They seem to have gotten rid of those magazines so I was disappointed on that. For your medical or beauty needs, this is the place to go.

Stripes is convenience store where some of its locations have the Laredo Taco Company is located. Amusingly entertained by my co-worker's statement, I went to a Stripes in my area and decided to seel out the "Q Taco", unfortunately I did not see it in the menu so I instead went for a ham and cheese taco and gran tocino taco. Again, I'm not an expert on what makes a good taco, but I can tell you they were tasty and make for a fast greasy breakfast on the go.

This teeny three aisle convenience store keeps a variety of familiar Filipino grocery items, snacks, and other Asian sundries. The nice lady working there, originally from Torrance, CA (I remembered), told us that Cabalen is open for breakfast and lunch only and pointed us in the right direction towards another Filipino restaurant nearby that was open for dinner. We got a couple of things from Tindahan to snack on for later back at the hotel before moving on to our dinner destination...
