We really appreciate the education in music that you provided them, especially because we are not a particularly musical family. For us as parents, to see our son playing in the concerts, read his music, play his guitar and learn all about the places and peoples of the world through your teaching, has been such a great thrill for us. We know that they have learnt so much from you (without even realising it) and that the musical knowledge and skills they now possess, will always be with them. Buyer beware! I…read moreprefer to give my business to local shops instead of the big box stores. New to the area I went to Rogers and I purchased an iPad interface for my electric guitar. After going to use it I discovered it did not work properly. I went back to the store hoping for refund or exchange. Now to be fair it is very clear they do NOT do refunds or exchanges that said I assumed it was for products that worked. I was told they could not do anything presently but would call the company to figure out the problem. What?!! A couple days later they called me back telling me how to use it properly. which I was already doing. I took it back to the store only to be greeted by a worker, who had heard of my problem, defensively defend a product that was obviously sold to me broken. Apparently if you buy something which is sold to you broken, you are on the hook as they cannot return it to their distributor (which is a middle man not the actual company). After calling her boss they exchanged it for another but they assured me that all their products are tested when they get them and it was my equipment that was the problem. I plugged in the new interface and it worked first try! I could go into more detail but the time I have already wasted with this store is more than enough. Long and Mcquade it is I guess. If you decide to move forward, you will start 10 band sessions, 1 hr per week. In these sessions you get to decide with your new band mates what to play, and with the guidance of the teacher assigned to the band, you get also guidance on the technical aspects of playing in a band. All in all I enjoyed my time thoroughly while I took the course. The instructor was very knowledgeable and willing to help everybody even though we all played different instruments. All while having fun and without feeling too much pressure. By the end of the sessions, I felt I had become a much better guitar player than when I started.

I found her offensive stand offish lacking in interpersonal skills and customer service/business acumen. She expected payment on classes that our daughter did not attend due to illness and offered a small percentage of make up classes. When it came to extending any latitude given the excessive absenteeism, she made no exceptions and on several occasions, threatened to discontinue classes for our daughter if the account standing was not "current" She did this quite glibly as if they were working an assembly line not a music school who teaches kids. On several occasions I requested an account ledger to view how many classes we had actually paid for versus the classes we attended and Sharon agreed to divulge. It was not until several requests and weeks later that she refused to divulge, siting privacy issues with the account holder ( my daughter's mother ) even after I had been given the task of having to deal with the account because my x spouse no longer wanted to. If you want personal care with your child in a music school this is not the one.

My second visit was when I wanted to buy a Ukulele. The saleswoman took several down from the display and played them - for me to choose the sound I liked best. I decided on a Kohala Soprano which I have never managed to sound as good as she did but that's neither here nor there. When I see a lone faceless reviewer from Seattle WA with one negative review to their name attempting to sully the reputation of a good local business I had to step in.
