I had 10 women who had hair and makeup done in addition to myself, they had 3 stylists and started at 8am for a scheduled 1pm finish. They were incredibly professional through the entire process and easy to work with.

this is a brunette to blonde dye job gone horribly wrong. As you can see from the photos my hair is…read moreorange and has about 2-3 inches of very dark visible root. I booked Lisa to do a full highlight and tone for my brunette to blonde transition. After my initial foil, and blow dry we both realized her initial highlights did not lift as she expected. My roots were very dark and noticeable and my ends were yellow. After getting rather upset(and tearing up) Lisa agreed to paint some additional highlights at the ends and add some "baby highlights" into the base to break things up. After the second processing my hair appeared brittle, and was now a very brassy red orange with chunks of white streaks and my roots were very noticeably dark brown. At this point I had been in the chair for 4 hours and was hoping I would get home and be able to decompress and look at the hair in a proper light. It was then I realized that I essentially paid for yellow hair, with dark roots (I look like I had blonde hair that had grown out for a month). I sent Lisa a message within 24 hours. She suggested I use purple shampoo and said she would need to think about what could be done to repair my hair, and stated she couldn't get me in for about 2 weeks. Given the condition of my hair and important interviews I had coming up this was not acceptable. She was not accommodating or sincere with reguards to my hair, nor did she acknowledge this was probably not her best work. I will now have to see a specialist to highlight the roots and repair her color. I would reccomend not seeing Lisa if you're transitioning from brown to blonde because you will end up paying someone else to fix it

You can tell when your stylist knows her stuff and asks you where you part your hair, how you do you hair each day, etc. The salon is very modern looking and is kept up very well. There are plenty of products that you can buy and they use many during your hair cut so you can see how they would work in your hair. Prices were very reasonable and the staff was very kind.

Tara said it was due to wearing my hair in a pony. Nope. She was taking the bleach and going all the way to the ends. Every time. Picture shown was my results after the last time she highlighted it. I sent her a text with this picture. Tara responded that she would reach back out to me when she was back from vacation. Never heard from her again. I should have never allowed her to do my hair "hung over" as she said she was when I walked in the morning of this appt. Her laziness ruined my hair and she was too much of a coward to contact me like she said she would. Stay far away.

I have been here twice in the last year. As far as haircuts go, that isn't often. But I can…read moreguarantee the only reason it has only been twice is because I live in Florida. I have had awful luck in that state with haircuts. This place was recommended by my aunt- and I am SO glad I listened! I went to Brittany last summer to try a new style that I was nervous about- and she did fantastic! She even came in early to fit me in before I went home to Florida. A few months later I went to a salon in Orlando for a trim and they butchered my hair. I haven't had anyone touch it since until today when I was visiting family and Brittany was able to fit me into her day. I could cry I am so happy! It took about six months for my hair to grow back in (the FL stylist cut it that short via multiple mess ups) and she was able to fix it for me. She not only knows what she is doing, but she knows what is flattering for you personally. So important when it comes to a hair stylist! The atmosphere is welcoming and you can tell they really care about their clients. If I could get them to move to Orlando, that would be awesome! But until I find someone I can trust there- my haircuts will wait for trips to Syracuse I love this place (and Brittany!) that much.

I asked if the mistake could have been made on their end, because I had the appointment on my calendar for weeks and remember making it. The other person was not there. They made me wait for 20 minutes, not telling me whether or not they would take me, just saying, "You're not in the book." Meanwhile, the other person did not show up and did not answer their phone when they called her. I told the receptionist I was starting to get frustrated with the situation, because I know I'd made the appointment. After 20 minutes the stylist came out and said that she would not take me because I'd been rude to the receptionist. I was in disbelief and asked her, "Chelsea, Are you really not going to take me? This mistake must have been on your end, and I've been looking forward to this appointment for weeks". She merely told me that her "heart was racing and it wasn't good for her so I'd have to reschedule" Never in our interaction did they acknowledge that the mistake could have been on their end, and they treated me horribly. I'm 72 years old and have never been accused of being rude by a shop in my life. Bijou has no idea how to treat their customers. Their arrogance is beyond belief.

I am a curly haired gal and- let me tell you- I have experienced some pretty awful haircuts in Upstate New York. Lots of places advertise curly cuts, "devacuts", yaddah yaddah- but they truly have no idea what they are doing. I can't tell you how many times I have had to go to NYC for rescue haircuts. ENTER JOLENE AND BIJOU.... if you want a great curly cut, this is where you should be going. Jolene is a genius- she truly understand the dynamic nature of curls and takes her time getting a lay of the "curl land" before she starts snipping. She starts with a dry cut to make sure she doesn't take too much... then she proceeds with the wash and dry process... and then- the grand finale- more styling at the end. She cut my hair before my wedding last July- it was perfect. And she just rejuvenated my mop of hair again today. I find the prices to be very, very fair. As an aside, everyone wears masks at the salon, and they check your temp and employ mandatory hand washing when you first walk in. If you have curly hair and are living in upstate New York/Syracuse, you must try this place.
