I am running the Peachtree Road Race this year. I may not run the full 10k but I will finish it. My goal to learn to be a runner outweighed my wallet during these times. If OTF wasn't month-to-month contract, I would've never signed up. Two years ago, I've done a free one day pass at the Sandy Springs location through Yelp and loved it. The price was a setback and I declined the offer. What makes the Stone Mountain OTF location great are the new location (new and clean equipment) and the great trainers. Because of the new location, I received a better deal to sign up as an Elite, which is 8 classes per month. Still seems pricey to some but it worked out for me because of my commitment for kickboxing, as well. Now I have a few weeks until my big 10k and I am no longer a member at OTF. I dropped the former rating from 5 to a 4 for a few reasons. Other OTF locations on Yelp have bad reviews for their cancellations, still charging and/or making it hard for members to leave. I did not have that problem. However, I do think OTF does not monitor or document clients' accounts well. This is what happened to me. After joining, I decided to not the heart rate monitor that goes around your torso, right below the heart area. I opted for the heart rate monitor on the wrist. It is hard for me to get splat points. I have a lower resting heart rate. I am active outside of OTF. I mean, I do pay two gym memberships and occasionally go to the parks to hike and/or run. I knew the price for the heart rate monitor wrist band was $30 more. What got me is that I was charged TWICE for this. I asked about it and first, got an excuse why I was charged. Later it was corrected and staff apologized and reversed it. I understand mistakes or oversights. When I made my decision to terminate my membership, I turned in my 30 days notice and filled out the cancellation form. I still had 30 days left to use all 8 of my classes. When I tried to sign up for more classes, I was denied access to book online. I contacted OTF, they found the problem and fixed, they terminated it early even after I was charged for that month. It was fixed immediately but I just felt that the staff should do a better job at attention-to-detail. Lastly, I have to give a shout out to the trainer, Coco. She was the only trainer who understood and listened to me talking about my low resting heart rate. She asked questions and learned about my fitness level. On top of that she showed me how to challenge myself and I finally got a few splat points. I really appreciate that. She is also really encouraging and is always positive. OTF is still one of the best workouts I've ever done, besides kickboxing. I just do not enjoy running and it's more pricier than kickboxing for me. Overall, I still recommend the workout to those who need a challenge, need a change in their workout, or want to learn how to be a better runner.

I wish I would've investigated first and saved me some $$. What I find misleading about the whole Groupon deal is that it's 24/7 and staff at certain times. I'm fine with that but when I went to redeem my Groupon. I first went to the Sandy Springs location cause heck, it's Sandy Springs but it's in an abandoned shopping center with hardly any activity and would look scary to go for a 24/7 workout. I am already have gym memberships elsewhere, why the Groupon deal? Busy season at work, I put a freeze on my account so I would go back and needed the 4 weeks to do some kind of workout, anytime I wanted. After going to the Sandy Springs location and it was unsuccessful, I went to Lilburn. It's not fair from my house. It's not as shady as Sandy Springs and definitely had excellent customer service. The facility is a lot nicer and cleaner. I was told that I could only use the facility during "staff hours" cause of my Groupon. I did not like that. The whole purpose is for me to use the facility 24/7, whenever I wanted. So the manager said, he'll do that for me but I was only able to use it for 3 weeks. Alright cool, whatever. I took a class right away. I was right in time for kickboxing. I already take kickboxing classes at a martial arts gym, Team Octopus, so I wasn't going to compare the two. I was going to compare it to taking kickboxing at LA Fitness. Honestly, I was very disappointed in the kickboxing class at Just Fitness 4 U. I felt that it was just moves and you do it 16 times, consecutive on each side of your body. It was just boring to me. I kept looking at the time so the class could hurry up. After class, I went on the treadmill and ran. I went to the women's locker room to use the bathroom. I saw the sauna at the end. Then I heard that we need to hurry up cause the locker rooms will be locked. So apparently, the locker rooms are locked after staff hours. We had to use the two unisex bathrooms during non staff hours. I was disappointed cause I thought I would have full access after staff hours. The next day, I came back for the treadmill and weight machines after staff hours. I came for around two weeks and got bored. The concept of the gym is not bad but it's not for me. After going, I know that a traditional gym isn't for me. If it is, I have to have good classes and access to all facilities 24/7 if the gym is supposed to be 24/7. I think for those who are new to working out and gyms, Just Fitness 4 U is perfect but for me, I will stick to Team Octopus and OrangeTheory.
