BEWARE, do not let the advertisement about fitness 19 fool you. The $10 a month deal sounds to good to be true, thats because it is. $10/ month including other fees permits you to only workout Monday, Wednesday, or Friday. As a business, a company should not start out a relationship with new guests by trying to fool them. With that being said, the gym is slow deteriorating, machines are getting worn out and management doesn't seem to be doing anything about it. The lat pull downs, cable rows, tricep extensions occasionally get stuck and ruins your muscle contractions. If you take a trip down the cardio area there's always a machine out of order. I thought about joining Fitness 19, as it is near my job. So I came here on a free one week trial and after fully inspecting the place and analyzing the environment here, I decided this is not the place for me, nor would I recommend it. As someone who has a degree in exercise science and business that focused on running gyms I probably have much higher expectations. I was greeted when I first walked in by Pat and shown around the gym by their personal trainer Evan, both of these guys were friendly. My visit was later in the evening after 7pm, so typically the gym should not be as busy, but here it is. I just focused on my lower extremities (cardio/strength training) and while cycling noticed a customer who walked in flipping the bird to the trainer who I mentioned earlier, this was weird, but I assume they must know each other, still this is a professional place, not high school. I saw employees on their phones, but did see a gentleman cleaning the treadmills. When asked how much 2 months would cost, I was quoted $60 bucks. That is quite high, considering what little they offer here. Though if you signup for longer, it is less. The biggest issues I have with this gym is the equipment does look extremely worn out and their selection is very limited. For example, they have only three upright bikes, four recumbent bikes (which have cracks in their plastic body), though they do have a decent amount of elliptical's and treadmills. When observing the weight machines I observed they only had one of each machine, so while working out my legs I had to wait a few times just to switch between agonist and antagonist muscles. Personally, I think the machines are way too close together, you cannot walk between them. They do have free weights here as well, but this area is small and seems to stay busy. It is so important to do static stretches after exercising as it increases flexibility and can help reduce injuries, but the problem is this gym does not really have a dedicated area for stretches, basically torn up yoga mats are hung on the wall and used between equipment, which is not safe. Also, while working out one of the trainers was working with a client who was doing lunges holding dumbbells, it appeared that the weight was too much, as her gait seemed off, just my personal opinion, but I am not exactly sure how much training they have here in exercise physiology. Fitness 19 could be a great gym depending on what you are looking for. At $10-15 a month, it is a great option if you are just looking to get in shape. However, it's not an ideal space for intense workouts. The amount of cardio machines in the gym is a little unnecessary in my opinion and I have yet to see more than half of them being used (granted I go during the day so it may be more busy in the evening). The number of weight machines is not bad, but they are a little limited and you may have to wait a few minutes for them to open up at times. The free weight area is cramped and extremely limited. There are two squat racks, 2 regular benchpresses, and 1 inclined benchpress, which is very minimal in my opinion. Additionally, when you're in this area, you just kind of feel like you're in somebodys way or somebody is in your way. There is also extremely limited floor space to do your own exercises (core, pushups, stretching, etc.). All in all, Fitness 19 does a good job of catering to its core clientele of older individuals or parents looking to get back in shape, but if you are looking to do more than just "get in shape", I would splurge on a gym with a little more to offer. read more

My wife and I have been members here since the day they opened in 2006. We love it here. Granted it is small but it has just about everything we want and the staff is wonderful and very friendly. We have three children who go in the child care (currently ages 5, 3, and 7 mo) and the care has been very good in our experience. We go almost everyday so if it were bad we would have changed by now. We usually go at peak time between 5-6pm but even then with a crowd we can still get our workout complete. (Nearly every gym is crowded at that time) The cost is great so the little things others sometimes complain about are minor or hardly noticeable in our opinion. We Americans can be hard to please, and I'm just grateful this place is here for us. We have no plans to look elsewhere. If you're considering signing up, I recommend it for anyone who isn't looking for perfection but rather just needs a good place nearby to exercise consistently. Hey, if Rocky Balboa can get ripped in a remote barn in Russia, why not try this place out. It's much more civilized :) Seriously I hope to see more folks join! This place is great. read more

I like the equipment; there's a good variety. It is always clean. The management is not always responsive to requests for repair. I asked the primary manager about fixing the handles on the pull-up machine (they didn't stick to the bar well and moved around). He said he would tell his guy, but I think it was 3 months before the task was completed. I didn't know about what Anne said regarding the air, but I typically work out late and the TVs get turned off early. Also, the clocks in the place don't always match up with when they say the gym is closing. Still, I enjoy Fitness 19. It is a very good deal money wise. Really I'm at more of a 3.5/5 than a 3, but I don't like to round up. read more

Fitness 19 overall is not a bad deal if you're strictly looking for cardio and weight machines. This location is off Five Forks Trickum in the Publix shopping center. I did the Groupon special before and it was close to $5/month. It's small compared to LA Fitness but what they have is good enough if you don't care for group fitness classes. There's enough treadmill and ellipticals, as well as weight machines. When you stay later at nights, you will see the staff cleaning down the machines. They do have magazines for you to read if you want also. read more

This is the closest gym to where I live. I don't need much when it comes to working out...just basic fitness equipment so Fitness 19 seemed like a good fit. I submit, via their website, an application for a free 7-day trial to see if I liked the gym. I never heard back. A week later, I gave it a second shot and called to find out how much it would be to join/per month and got put on hold. After sitting on hold for an insane amount of time, I hung up. For my last try, I showed up in person and got the weirdest used car salesman pitch. It made me feel gross and the person we spoke with complained about the bad day he was having. I didn't feel welcome or valued. I'll just work out at home. read more

So glad the Lilburn Fitness 19 renovated this past summer. My favorite change was the new wood floor (laminate) because it gives the space a much more open and clean feel. After removing the old carpet that once trapped the workout odors, the gym now is a pleasure to go to. They moved the office farther back and made a much more welcoming reception area with tables/chairs. The stacked stone entry and water fountain area adds a new modern look to the gym. The children's room added padded carpeting on the floor and walls and the child care staff seems to truly like playing with the kids. The HVAC was also fixed and seems to be working well now. There is plenty of equipment to use and I'm glad they have done a better job at keeping the place clean and sanitized. We love meeting other Lilburn moms club members here so our kids can play together while we get the much needed break! That in itself is worth it! Now I just wish they would put a giant aerobic room addition on to the building so we could dance too! Hmmm... maybe they could lease the old Tae Kwon Do vacant retail space near Publix since it already has wood floors? Just a thought:) read more

I have read some of the negative reviews and realized they are not true. The gym is clean and there are more than 3 upright bike. I think "Andy H" may have had a bad experience and chose not to come back. I chose the $19 a month plan since it has the most features. I did not chose the $10 a month plan because I needed to work out more than three days a week. I was not fooled at all Andy H. by the advertisement. The gym is Fitness 19, I would expect different options for $10 a month. I am satisfied with my membership. read more

The employees at this gym sit in a back room. When I needed questions answered I had to find them. Also, I canceled my account and I have been charged twice since my cancelation. Whoever is in charge of billing needs to be retrained. I am tired of being charged for an account I canceled. read more

The Fitness 19 (GA184) at 4045 Five Forks Trickumis poorly managed (and, actually,not managed at all after 2PM). I have tried unsuccessfully for months to cancel my $15 monthly membership and have been given the run-around by the staff repeatedly. I have tried to phone the manager due to my work schefulet, only to be told I must come into the gym to cancel in person and/or "Jeremy is gone for the day." I was told today ( by three staff members who looked fairly young) when I went in person to cancel that he only works 9-2 and that I would need to come back at that time tomorrow. I asked to speak to the afternoon manager and was told by the three of them that there is " no manager after 2pm ... Just sales staff. " Safety issues aside, the fact that there is not a manager on site past 2 pm is ludicrous. It appears that this "bob and weave" protocol of "find the manager" is simply a plot to keep people from legitimately cancelling their membership. read more

Pretty nice! Decent amount of workout machines, so rarely to I have to wait for one! Plenty of TVs and clocks, and the staff are really nice. If you are looking for a gym with child care - PLEASE DON'T USE THIS LOCATION. My 2 year old was able to get of the daycare area was proceeding to go out the Building. I was blessed to spot her and grab her before she left out the building. I talked with Mgmt about my concerns and they assured me they had implemented processes to prevent this from occurring again. I waited several weeks before I came back to the gym. There are NO new processes in place. When I asked Mgmt about the new process the manager had the NERVE to say.. did your daughter get out? BINGO... she WILL NEVER GET OUT AGAIN.. BECAUSE I'M NEVER RETURNING. read more

Be aware of this gym is a complete scam! I've been trying to cancel my membership for months, the first time I canceled and they charged my account again the next month I went to the gym to get the money back and they did not have any records of the cancelation even though, they gave me a cancelation agreement but I couldn't get the money back. After arguing with them in person I canceled the membership AGAIN and ask not to have any more charges from this gym ever again. I keep the paper as proof of the cancelation but SURPRISE a month later my account was charged AGAIN. This time the woman that supposed to do the cancelation admitted she made a mistake during the cancelation process and she only cancel my membership and NOT my husband's when I clearly specify during the cancelation that we both wanted to cancel and get the hell out of this gym but still she won't refund my money instead she was extremely rude and intentionally hung up the phone tree times and refused to let me talk to somebody else. I still have no resolution of this matter. Please run from this place!! Update on my case: I went to the Gym last night to get my husband's membership canceled in writing since they said they canceled it over the phone earlier that day and promised me not to charge anything else I just wanted to have proof; a person named Kevin who was extremely rude, aggressive and violent told me that he was not going to give me anything in writing and if he did he was going to charge me again next month. I told my husband to go and get the paper and Kevin argued and said he was going to charge us next month. I guess this is how these type of employees run a business into the ground. Like many reviewers on this post, I have been a regular at this location for years. In the beginning, the staff was friendly and welcoming, it was clean inside and the equipment was nice and evenly spread out. Fast forward to today and you will find yourself in quite a different atmosphere. When you first walk in, you will encounter this 'nasty locker room' smell. Then you see the front desk, and I do mean the front desk, not the person that is supposed to be there greeting you. If you do get the rare opportunity to see someone, they'll be on their phone, and they may even look up to see who is at the door before they say 'hello! welcome...(inaudible)...workout!'. As you make your way through the gym, you'll notice that a lot of the cardio machines are 'out of order' and those still operational are making noise like they are about to fall apart. So you look at weight lifting equipment and realize, it's not doing any better. The machines move around and wobble as you use them (quite a hazard) and every now and then you get this weird/nasty smell from them. Then as you are isolated in your workout, you have someone waiting on you to finish a rep so that they can get to their machine to put on some weight and you realize, your neighbor is just about on top of you, and you'll have to wait on him/her to finish to put more weight on your machine. Then you look down, and see that the floor is all kinds of torn up and has parts where people could potentially trip and fall on (hazard yet again). Well, now after this crazy workout of yours, you get thirsty. So you head towards the water fountains. You then realize, wow, of the 2 fountains, only one is working...barely. While you are there, you get this nasty smell from the restrooms, which are rarely cleaned properly. Conveniently located across from where kids are kept in confinement by your trustworthy high-school teen girl who is on her phone 24/7. So you figure, maybe management/staff doesn't see this, and you point things out. Now comes the fun part, you get attitude back or better yet, you get the 'oh okay' followed by a walk-off. I have been working out on the butterfly chest press machine, and a screw fell off and hit me on the head. So I went up to staff and showed them and told them what happened. The kid simply said "oh...well we dont have the wrench here to fix it, so umm we will have to call someone but they take forever, you can just like take your hand and screw it back in, it'll work" let me not ramble on any longer...I think I have made my point. UNSAFE, UNHEALTHY, UNBELIEVABLE! This gym should be shut down asap! (it pains me to say so because it's been part of my routine for years and very close to my house, but it needs to be done NOW!) read more

I would have rated this place higher a year ago but there was a change in management. Since then the equipment is better maintained but the staff is noticeably less friendly. The main thing they do that drives me crazy is they turn the fans and AC off 15 minutes before closing. I also wish they would extend their hours on Friday (9:00) and Sunday (6:00) nights. The customer service of this company is absolutely terrible. Be wary of ever signing up for service as once you cancel they like to continue to charge your credit card. They even renewed my membership for another year and charged me the annual renewal fee of $39.95 7 months after they confirmed my membership had been canceled over the phone and that I would no longer be charged. I have called every month since June of 2017 in attempts to recoup the stolen money. The first 5 times they said it would be resolved by the next billing cycle, however, it never was. And on the 5th time or so I spoke with the Manager Cory, he mentioned that my refund would be processed withing a week or so. I should never have believed him as the next week came around and once again my card was billed. I have called two times since and now they are telling me they can't process a refund because their boss (who lives in California) won't allow them to issue a refund. When I asked to speak to their boss to explain the situation they told me I am not allowed to speak to them. I am so frustrated about this business as I feel like they have literally stolen over $100 out of my pocket. read more

This gym is close to my home and nice for the price. I go every morning at 5 am however the staff is not as consistent as me in showing up on time to open the gym. Today is the second time in two weeks that no one showed up. Last week many of us walked the parking lot waiting for the gym to open.....45 minutes later we left.
