Have been coming to StretchLab for a few months now and I absolutely love it! I see Bella who I highly recommend to anyone coming. She gives such a great stretch and love chatting with her each week. The 25 minute session is the perfect amount of time, I always leave feeling great as if I just came out of a massage. The 50 minute is great if you have a lot of areas to work on but I found it was a bit too much for my body. read more

I've worked with Ezra here for a few months now and I went from barely being able to reach past my knees to now being able to touch my toes. I have really tight hamstrings/hips/legs and definitely used to think that flexibility was just genetically out of reach for me, but now, I'm working on trying front splits! I really appreciate how every visit, I can depend on Ezra to push me to my limit, but in a safe manner, with new stretches peppered in with the familiar routine that we do. He also makes sure to keep track of my progress and helps me take progress pics, which is really encouraging. I know this will be a longer journey, but I am confident that with the guidance I am getting from Ezra and StretchLabs, I'll be able to do it within a few more months. read more

Stretch is Absolutely Heavenly! Ezra is magical, and my first time experience was extraordinary. There is a $59 introductory special for a 50 minute session for neighbors. I found stretch to be a great practice to complement yoga, strength training, meditation and HIIT! First time visit was just okay. When it came time to stretch, the guy I was assigned to didn't introduce himself or ever really talk or guide me through the stretch. He'd give very short, vague instruction when it came time to switch positions. He was a big guy so the pressure was good but too strong at first, like he didn't know his own strength. For context, I went to Stretch Lyfe on a separate occasion and the pressure increase was more gradual. Good conversation and better breathing instruction and the stretch coach would preface each stretch with context. Probably won't be back but mostly because it's so expensive. A good trigger point massage for the same price is more therapeutic in my opinion. read more

My First Stretch on July 29th resulted in one ambulance ride, two emergency room visits, and four nights in the hospital. Since I first reported the injury after being released from the hospital, management has gaslighted me, claiming they have stretched hundreds of people with no problems. Still, I have a muscle strain in my lower spine caused by over-stretching, which set off a chain reaction of indescribable pain from muscle tremors and nerve pain for days, and right now, I'm still recovering. The truth is, they have a liability waiver that states - my participation may result in physical harm (which could require medical attention and hospitalization), including, without limitation, muscular damage, skeletal damage, or nerve damage. When I arrived with my wife, who made the appointment for us, the experience was absent of any safety precautions. For me, It felt soulless and like we were on some stretching assembly line. No one shared a waiver for me to sign, told me anything about risks, or asked us any questions about our health. My painful symptoms did not begin until I returned home. Exercise extreme caution, as this is not proper "health care" and can be extremely dangerous, and leadership seems absent. read more

Lowsy communication from the manager and receptionist to customer. I was never told that I would be on a monthly contract (like a gym) with them of $350 a month. I was told that I pay as I go. If I knew this, I would have only paid for the introduction session and never committed to a contract I was unaware of because of lack of communication and honesty. When it was time to cancel, the receptionist told me that they hold no power in termination, only freezing accounts. And to contact the manager. They gave me 3 bust email addresses and then eventually, a direct number. , to this day, still havnt heard from him. It was only that when I posted this review, the NEW manager contacted me and terminated my contract. I am giving an extra star because the flexologist are good. Angel is the star there. read more

Guys. Don't believe the pics posted here. They are old. The lowest rate for a session is $49! (Unless you have never been before then it's $29) I'm suuuuuuper annoyed because I called them twice asking about gift certificates bc I wanted to buy 3 of them for my trainers. They said they sold gift certificates - yay! But my bad because I forgot to ask about their pricing. So I figured ok it can't be too far off from the $25 posted here which is what I have paid in the past. So I got in my car and drove 30 min to buy them. When I arrived I saw that they have upgraded their facility (yay!) but when I asked to buy their lowest level session they informed me it's now $49. I tried to ask if they could offer the $29 package especially since I wanted to buy a few gift certificates but they said not unless I can prove that they have never been there before. I showed them the pictures posted here on their page since they have no rates on their website and they said "oh yeah that's old." Very infuriating. So I left. It's their loss because I would have brought three trainers to their location who would probably help bring more business to them so ill now be getting their Christmas gifts from a competitor. I had imagined this place would be a mix between Spa and physical therapy. It was neither. I suspect they chose this business model for their chain so they could avoid having to hire and pay professionals who need a license (i.e., massage therapist or physical therapist). Unsurprisingly, the place lacked an appropriate level of professionalism. The stretch was OK, Although the guy seemed more like he was following an instruction manual rather than actually attuning to my body. There were a few points where he was talking so much that I had to interrupt him to ask him to ease up on a stretch. The person at the front desk seemed uninterested in being there, much less in acknowledging customers when they arrived. Doubtful I'll be back. read more

What a concept and what an experience! I was a bit suspicious if StretchLab would be worth it and after experiencing it, I can see It is worth every penny, plus more. The flexologists at Stretchlab allowed me to release deep tensions that I was unable to release while stretching on my own, they did stretches for body parts I never thought to stretch, and they ultimately have allowed me to be more mobile and flexible during physical activities. At the same time they properly communicate with you and make you feel very comfortable. I can feel the increased blood flow, the realignment of my body with proper posture, and just an overall euphoric feeling! I recommend this to anyone and everyone. If you are on the fence about stretchlab at all, just go in and see the magic for yourself. You wont be disappointed! read more

I've been to SL 3 times now. If I had reviewed after the first two sessions which were quite good, I would have given a 5 star. But the third was a disaster. The stretcher? Technician? What do you even call the staff? He was particularly aggressive with my neck. I left feeling some pain which has not diminished in 3 weeks. This is going to prompt an expensive round of PT and chiropractic to try to undo whatever was done to me in that third session. I think assisted stretching is a good thing and a good idea. We all sit too much and, unprompted, unaided, won't do sufficient stretching. But like everything else including exercise training, the trainer has to gear things toward the age, capabilities and physical condition of whoever is being worked on. The stretcher was a young fit guy. I am significantly older, in decent shape for my age, but very tight. He cranked my head and neck with bad results. I don't know if I would consider going back to Stretch Lab, because of what's happened. If I did, it would never be with that same staff member again. And if I did, it would probably only for lower body work. Just can't trust the rest of it. read more

This review is for the so-called "management", not their trainers who were actually professional and knowledgeable. The management is a scam, has non-existent communication and finds excuses not to issue membership refunds during covid. They charged me $269 for a five session membership days before covid shut down their business, and they remained closed for six mos. At NO point in that time did they offer membership refunds. Instead they charged membership freeze fees (not authorized by me) and somehow, sent fake emails in June saying they were reopening in June. Their app magically allowed me to book a session and I received email confirmation. I show up to my appointment only to find the place entirely closed. I received no notice my booked session had been automatically cancelled. I emailed management and days later they replied saying oh we were closed. I recently moved far away from their locations, and I asked for a refund of my entire membership fee as I never received any services nor would I be able to use the sessions. Cameron informed me they couldnt issue refunds due to their accounting system, and instead I could gift my sessions to friends. NOT acceptable! Your accounting system is not my problem, it is your business, DO BETTER. They claimed maybe they could send me a check, more than a week later no response to my request. Will file a complaint with BBB about this shady scam of a business. Avoid at all costs, go to a certified PT instead who actually runs an ethical business. My gym instantly refunded my membership and stopped any ongoing charges once covid hit. This "business" is operating outside of acceptable industry norms, as a franchise there is no excuse for this scammy behavior. read more

This place is an absolute joke. Took time out of my day to make an appointment only to show up and be told my 'stretcher' would be right with me once she 'done working on her sister.' Then proceeds to make lunch plans with her sister and friends who were hovering around her table while the minutes tick over the start time of my appt. Maybe you are thinking what we were: 1) "Seriously. Lazy. Just do yoga!" or 2) "Hmm. Interesting. I'd rather have a massage." Here's what we found: 1) If you are a yogi, this is comparable to having a one-on-one yin class that runs through your whole body. It made my next day's flow much more balanced and powerful. 2) If you are a massage fan, especially if you like Thai, this has really distinctive benefits. You do have to be more engaged, but you emerge with an increased capacity for movement. Also, you don't leave oily :). We didn't buy punch passes as we left, but we thought about it. read more

I stretch, do yoga, run, do weights, and a ton of various other things, but there is nothing as great as having someone do it for you. If this place was closer to my house, I'd be in all the time. I started coming here a couple months ago, and I love it. It took a few tries for me to relax, but I've now become accustomed to the routine. Everyone is really nice, including Cam at the front desk and Behrad who works on me. Parking is a breeze as I come mostly in the evening. There's only one other person being worked on at the most, so the environment is chill and relaxing. I brought a friend one time, and I'm bringing my office mate this week. I love Stretchlab and I have been coming here for 3+ years. I live in NY and my routine is to land in LAX and head directly to Stretchlab. If you are a fitness fanatic (or even just mildly into fitness) or into avoiding injuries, Stretchlab is the place for you! There is no way to get this deep of a stretch on your own, and remaining flexible is a key way to avoid injuries from overcompensating. I am a member all the way from NY which shows how incredible this place is. The Santa Monica location has recently come under new management and it is much cleaner with an awesome staff. I got a short 20 minute stretch, which cost $20. You lay out on a cushiony table, and the trainer concentrates on the area(s) you tell him/her. I go to this place whenever I'm in LA for work. I am bummed that they increased their prices, but I still go because I feel quite relaxed and rejuvenated after a stretch. All of the flexologists are very professional and unique backgrounds (such as massage therapy, physical therapy, yoga, reiki, etc.) Some of them are slightly better than others, but once you find your person you can just make sure to book an appointment with them. Some of the franchised locations aren't up to the same standards so I only stick to the SM and Venice locations since they are the originals locations and seem to have a different (better) vibe. read more

This is actually a review about the poor business practice, not the actual stretch itself, as I never got a chance to even experience it. I booked a stretch, my first one, around 10pm Friday night online for what I thought was a Sunday 10am appointment. Turns out it was actually Saturday, the next day, I misread the dates. No problem, my fault. When I called on Saturday to move the appointment, I was told by Sharon that because I had already paid for the appointment, she couldn't move or cancel the appointment, but still tried to book me for another day and charge me another $75. I get it, I take responsibility for my mistake, but as a first time customer who has never set foot in your studio, wouldn't the goal be getting me to come in your doors and making a happy customer for life? Instead all I got was "unfortunately there's nothing I can do," which immediately turned me off. As a person who also works in a service industry, offering a little grace to a first timer who made one mistake goes a lot farther than that hiding behind "policy". read more

The service and concept itself at this business is great! However, the business practices are not!! Here is a breakdown of some email exchanges with the owner/founder of the company. His name is Saul My initial email to him. Hi Saul, My name is Kathy and I'm a customer at your Santa Monica location. I came into your location with a gift card I had bought at my child's school. I ended up buying a package on top of that a couple of weeks ago. I've used a few sessions of it already and really like it. Last Saturday I sent my husband and son to try it out. They were not aware that leaving tip is something that is highly encouraged at this business. Hence, they left without leaving a tip. When my husband got home and told me, I informed him I usually leave a tip because I have to. He told me he felt bad and to give a tip to the 2 guys that stretched them next time I go in. On Sunday morning, I believe it was Sharon at the front desk called to tell me that she did not notice that my husband and son had left the tip and if I wanted to go ahead and leave one now. I was shocked and appalled that a business would call a customer for a tip!!! The fact that tips are so highly pushed and encouraged is a bit of a turnoff for me and other customers/friends I know. Anyhow, I told Sharon that I would go ahead and take care of the tip next time I was in. She then says to me that she can take it on credit card if that makes it easier and I don't have to worry about it for next time! Again, feeling pressured and embarrassed that I even received this call, I went ahead and paid it. My point of this email is that I don't think this is good business practice. Not sure if this is how you want your business run or if this was isolated incident. What I can tell you is that Sharon is also pushy when you are there and getting stretched. I don't seem to believe that your employees are making the little money and rely on the tips. Tipping is so personal to people that I feel like calling them the day after was very rude and unprofessional. Especially when a package is bought for something tipping is not customary. I am not the only one that feels this way but I did not want to go on yelp or any other social media about this incident until I addressed it with the owner. Like I said, I like the service that I received from the actual stretch. At this point I have to finish the package that I bought but to be honest this left a bad taste in my mouth and I'm not sure I would want to purchase more sessions. As a new client, I wanted to express how I felt because I really do like the service your company provides. Thank you so much! Here is his defensive response to me: Hi Kathy-- Thanks for taking the time to reach out. We are certainly glad you enjoy our services but sorry that you feel we are unprofessional and that our tipping policy is over-reaching. Our pricing has been set with the understanding that the client will leave a gratuity commensurate with how they enjoy the stretch and experience, generally in the range of 18-20% if they are satisfied. While our Flexologists receive a commission for each stretch, in order for them to make what we believe is a fair wage, they need to be tipped--much as servers in restaurants or other service workers. If we did not construct our prices to incorporate a gratuity, we would simply raise our prices--which would prevent our customers from rewarding--or not--the service they receive. We actually debated whether or not to have a flat fee without tipping, but the preponderance of potential customers and customers voiced a preference for our current system so they could reward good service. Our Flexologists prefer it as well, and my partners and I believe the incentive leads to better and more consistent service. I do take issue with a few things you mention. You seem to believe that StretchLab is in the minority about having a tip being part of the service charge. Truthfully, I know of no other personal service provider that does not expect tipping as part of compensation, especially for bodyworkers. (Even the local takeout counter has a tip jar for handing you your bag of food and for the privilege of charging you for it!) You also say that tips wouldn't be customary with a package. I don't understand this. The client is getting the same service, just discounted. In fact, I am often gently instructed at other places that offer discounts that tips should be calculated on the full price of the service The Flexologist is still providing the same service, whether it has been bought in bulk and discounted or not. We are also quite clear about our tipping policy as shown below. Our price list, package pricing and gift certificates all indicate that tips are expected. Please see pictures for the rest of them email exchanges. basically they are ok with tips being expected (aka mandatory) and also being called when not leaving one.
