I visited this Life Time twice during a recent trip to Overland Park... I worked from their cafe…read moreand worked out a bit as well as took a super quick cold plunge on my first visit. The second time I was in and out pretty quickly for a yoga class and ordered some dinner to go from the cafe. Aside from some construction happening in the parking lot, and the food selection not being as amazing as I was hoping, my experience was super positive. I see they offer tons of classes as well as pickleball and the facility is huge with pretty much any kind of workout equipment you could possibly want. If I lived in the area, I'd likely want to be a member here, but since I don't, I'll settle for being a guest when I visit. Thanks Life Time!

I had a very disappointing experience at the front desk today with Pat. I came in with my cousin,…read moreand when there was an issue with her guest pass, I tried to understand the policy and what other options were available. Unfortunately, I did not feel that Pat was helpful or interested in helping us find a solution. When I asked about purchasing a day pass instead, her response and facial expression came across as very dismissive. She commented the price of day pass was in a way that made me feel as though she was assuming I couldn't or wouldn't be able to afford it. I completely understand that employees have to follow Life Time's policies, and my issue is not that a policy was enforced. My concern is the way the situation was handled. I would have appreciated a more welcoming and professional approach, especially when I was simply asking questions and trying to understand our options. As a Life Time member, I expect front-desk interactions to feel helpful and respectful, even when the answer to a request is no. Unfortunately, that was not my experience today. Had to cancel the membership.

Planet fitness is hands down my favorite gym - I have absolutely no complaints and you truly get…read morethe best for your bucks here! The gym is clean and just got a few pieces of equipment updated recently. The front desk staff is always smiling and happy to help. The gym is wonderfully laid out with the main floor consisting of cardio, weights, upper body and lower body equipments in the middle, stretching on the left and strength training besides it. It has a dedicated black card area with two massage lounges- hydro, two massage beds - hydro, tanning beds, massage chairs and red light therapy with vibrating plates. The gym goers are expected to wipe down the machines after each use but I have observed that many of them to not - I wish the gym has a stricter rules for the customers to do so or keep extra staff only for this so that everyone stays healthy and the gym remains clean/germ free . I enjoy doing my workout daily and I know you will too.

It's located in a safe part of town and with easy to access parking. The staff are extremely friendly and I've never had an issue while being a patron. I will go on record there will be busy times and off times, and most of my review comes from the perspective of a 5am gym rat. The experience during peak times like 5-7pm will be substantially different. First off, the showers are plentiful and well stocked with towels. I've never had to wait on a shower, typically between 5-7am. I really like having options like a BB court and pool but there again not everyone can be the Goliath in the room. That means laps, water aerobics, teaching kids to swim or dribble a BB will have to be elsewhere. For me that's a deal breaker. I've never been to a class for things like aerobics, yoga or anything like that rather I go in and have my routines at 5am. I mainly stick to the Stairmaster, treadmill and weights (free and nautilus). As for workout equipment, they have plenty of stair masters, nautilus machines, free weights, treadmills and so forth to accommodate a lot of people in off hours. However, during peak hours weights become more of an issue and people will generally have to work-in sets. What I really like it the indoor track upstairs. This offers a good alternative to the treadmill and good to burn off some calories, but watch out for those people doing squat thrusts in the slow lane! In summary, while I never used all the amenities some of the items I need aren't available. I highly advise getting a trial membership to see if the gym is a good fit for your workout. For the most part the place is clean but I have seen it a bit messy but that's not the norm. I thought the place was ok, just not enough of what I wanted, which other options did have and it's why I left. Two thumbs sideways.
