I joined Orange Theory back in March of this year (2021). A couple things about my workout history:…read more1) I rarely ran on a treadmill or anywhere for that matter; and 2) I NEVER used a rowing machine before. 7 months later I attend class 4-6 days per week and enjoy the treadmill and the rowing machine. The workouts are very conveniently offered throughout the day including at 5:00 a.m. which is when I primarily attend. Classes are 7 days a week. The instructors are great. Knowledgeable about health and fitness and also good coaches who motivate and ensure that members use appropriate form to avoid injuries and maximize benefit. The workouts vary and some days can be quite challenging. Ultimately the level of challenge is within each member. Occasionally, benchmark days occur where you are timed on the rower or treadmill (e.g. 1 mile time, 2000m row, etc) and can measure your improvement with future benchmarks. Since joining my cardio health is much improved and I feel stronger!! In fact, I recently made the leaderboard for the 200m row benchmark. Even though you are striving to improve yourself, I love some healthy competition too. If you are looking for an efficient 60 minute workout that is guided, burns calories and is not hard on your body or joints, then you should definitely check this out! With the right membership you can also visit other studios all around the country. This is great if you travel. I have personally visited studios in other cities.

*this is based off one free class*…read more I tried a free class and it was fantastic! I think it was a strength day so half of the class did cardio while the other did weights. I love that it is at your own pace, no racing, and you can use whichever weight suits you. With weights: trainer Bree was very awesome at making sure form was correct. She demonstrates each move, and then the tv shows someone doing them so you don't have to constantly try to remember or ask what was next. Saves time! The treadmills are very nice, but they sink and are bouncy. Makes it so much harder. I do love how we did sprints and hills. Not everyone has to run, she will say "joggers do this (effort and incline number) and walkers do this. If you aren't a runner or just having an off day, you are still able to preform. No judgement. The "Orange Theory" name came from the heart rate monitors you wear on your arm. Yes, your stats show on the screen, but I see it more as a way to challenge yourself (aka I am not pushing as hard as everyone else, or I'm not pushing hard enough to get that burn). Blue is low/resting heart rate, green is the next level, Orange is the target heart rate (where you wanna be majority of the class, of course worth weights they understand it goes down- it is interval yah know), and red is max. Reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that it is so dang expensive!! I know I could lose some weight and gain strength doing this 5 days a week but it's like $80-90 for 4 sessions a MONTH plus the $100 heart rate monitor. Doesn't fit in my budget.

I am in love with Club Pilates. I moved from out of state, from a different location. I tried other…read morebusinesses but CP truly has the most options for levels and scheduling. The people from instructors, front desk and members are so welcoming and I have bad social anxiety but it's pushing me out of my bubble. I have encouragement in every corner and even students, if they're more seasoned and see me struggling will help, along with the instructors. I never feel dumb or ugly. The only con is scheduling. This location is so popular it's booked sometimes two weeks out. The waitlist sometimes works but you have to know your schedule, be patient and committed. It took me a month for my body and their bookings to align to where I can go 3x a week. Also I wish they had more relaxing classes like Center & Balance. But due to demand they have it every other week for level 1. I truly feel they need to open up another location in the Avery Park area of NB. I'd definitely utilize it. This location is a 20-30 min drive for me depending on traffic. For me it's worth it. I have a bad back from being in the military and a few autoimmune issues. And even though it's hard sometimes to get that motivation to do the drive once I get in there and finish I feel revived and my pain is so much better.

While a few instructors (Michelle, Stevie, and Terry) are fantastic and bring professionalism and…read morewarmth to the studio, the overall experience is overshadowed by glaring issues. One instructor is downright rude--her aggressive corrections border on inappropriate, and her dismissive attitude is unacceptable. Laughing and making snide comments like 'I'm not for everyone' after upsetting clients isn't quirky; it's unprofessional and alienating. Add to that the exorbitant price of $200 for unlimited classes, which feels unjustifiable given the uneven quality of instruction and lack of accountability. For this price, I expect consistency, respect, and a welcoming environment across the board. This studio falls far short.
