She was ready for me when I arrived. She waxed my brows and then cut my hair. I was was bit wishy-washy about how short I wanted it, so she cut it to one length and then we both decided it needed to be shorter. So She kindly cut it again. She took great care to make absolutely sure it was even and perfect. It is a very cute cut and I love it. Others folks in the room were delightful to talk with and we had a very pleasant time. The salon is a Charming Victorian style decor with fun crafted hair care items to look at and purchase if you want them. Even the music they play softly is delightful. I have had 2 appointments with her, being on time both times. Both times I had the same services - brow lamination and tint as well as Korean lash lift. The first time, the lamination solution was left on my brows too long and caused a chemical burn. I communicated that to her and was extremely understanding - though nothing was offered on her end to rectify it - I was willing to give a second chance. My second appointment was fine. Afterward, I had scheduled a third appointment. I rescheduled this appointment (moving it from 7/28 to 7/30) to align with my other appointment that was the same day. Unfortunately, one of my employees has to have surgery and I'm having to cover their shifts so I texted Autumn on 7/24 that I would have to cancel the appointment and why - and that I would text when I was able to rebook. She responded with, " sounds good love " This is where I feel the shady practice comes into play. I was then sent a receipt for $94. I asked why I was charged since I gave plenty of notice and she answered, " i charge a deposit for all appointments per my policies accepted when booking.since we are canceling the apt i have collected the deposit and canceled your apt! ". Deposits are normally collected at the time of booking - not cancellation but that's not the biggest issue. Ultimately the biggest issue came down to verbiage. The rest of the conversation consisted of me asking if I was charged based on my verbiage. I was told yes. If I had rescheduled I would not have been charged but because I said "cancel" and that I would text when I could reschedule - that's why I was charged. She mentions communication in her response but unfortunately she did not give that same respect back. She could have easily said, hey - this is what's going to happen if you cancel so we can go ahead and reschedule if you have a date in mind to prevent that - but she didn't. I want to also point out that her policy does not explicitly state that canceled appointments will forfeit their deposit. Again, had this been clear, I never would have canceled - and would have simply reschedule for a later date. I'm including a picture of the first appointment, screenshots of the conversation from 7/24, and her policy page. I also left the same review on her booking page - which she ultimately deleted. Sadly, I can't recommend someone who expects me to respect their time but doesn't respect my money - or skin. As a side note, Autumn has also been reporting my posts to have them removed. I would have removed them myself if she would have corrected the issues by just refunding the CANCELLATION FEE she charged me and updated her booking policies to be clear for future customers.
