Strayer has some real strengths and some real weaknesses. The school offers flexible education opportunities that are great for working/adult students who may not have time or a flexible enough schedule to pursue an education a "traditional" institution. The prevalence of available campuses (at least in this area) is a real bonus, and one of the reasons I chose Strayer for my master's. The staff is friendly and generally helpful, and the course offerings are pretty good. That being said, Strayer has some major issues. The biggest one I want to address is the perception that I and other students have of this place caring more about profits than quality products and services. For instance, Strayer publishes most of its own books, creates new editions constantly, and conducts courses in a manner that essentially forces students to purchase these overpriced, new textbooks all the time. It feels like a racket. My advice to Strayer would be to avoid these shady practices that puts profits above product because in the long run less people will want to attend. Strayer University has been a great school for me since I began my journey in January 2017. Through caring teachers, staff, and the help of other students, I have been able to become an Honors student and remain there. It is a great learning experience! read more
