BUYER BEWARE*BUYER BEWARE*
I would give this group and in particular, Jesse Carter-Agent less than one if possible. One year ago this month, I purchased a townhouse on 920 South 25 East. There were several things that were supposed to have been done according to the agreement after the inspection. I moved from Las Vegas, signed papers in the morning, loaded the moving truck and arrived in St. George to sign papers just minutes before 5:00 with the promise from both my Agent and Stratum Real Estate Group that the work had been completed.
I trusted them-I shouldn't have.
1.Water pressure was at 35 and was supposed to be adjusted to 60-70. It wasn't done. And in fact, they sent a picture that was not my unit saying it was done. I had told them on my way from Las Vegas that I would not sign the paperwork to close if that was not completed. I have asked who they had do the work and they will not tell me. I have very little water pressure in my upstairs bathroom.
2. Doors into Master bedroom and bathroom stuck. So hard that the inspector could barely get in to inspect the rooms. I was told they were fixed. As we unpacked the minimal things needed just to get some rest from a very long day, my adult blind daughter, calls my phone because she can't get out of the bedroom. The door is stuck so badly that I had to go and push on the door with all my might to get it to open. Another fabrication by Mr. Carter and company.
Imagine that when my church group arrived to help unload the moving truck, the Leader was none other than Mr. Jesse Carter. This became and has been since, very awkward. When I told him about the doors, he told me he would get it taken care of. When he first arrived, he apologized for not getting back sooner about the water pressure assuring me it had been taken care of. Now it has been one year, and he has NEVER stopped by to get the doors taken care of and they still stick horribly.
My own agent has a role to play in this, I learned very quickly after moving in that he did not have my best interests in his thoughts at all. All he was thinking of was himself and money. (His review will be the next one I write).
Now that we have been in the house for an extended period of time, here are a list of other items that have been nothing, but trouble and you get no help from HOA (it is awful) or the builders.
Every single door in the house is hung crooked. I have been able to fix a couple of them, but not all.
The front and back doors locks are installed incorrectly, and you can barely get them open, the key in the front door literally bent. We had a freezer delivered and they had to take off the front door to get it into the unit and they were so great about getting the door hung straight afterward that we can now lock and unlock the door but it is not smooth. The back door has to be lifted up with one hand and then the lock turned to be able to get the door to be shut securely.
The toilet paper roll holders all three, fell off before the first month was over. I have tightened the screws, loosened the screws to no avail, they simply don't work--they are so cheap.
The cement in the patio is so slanted that nothing can stand on it. What cheap/ignorant builders to put in and expect people to live that way. We can do absolutely nothing on or in the patio area but pull the weeds. (Had I inspected the house myself I would never have chosen this, my agent did it for me and foolish me, I thought he had my interests in his thoughts).
In short, Mr. Jesse Carter is the only employee of Stratum Real Estate that I am familiar with, my advice is stay as far away from him and the company as you can, for any company that would allow such deceit to be a part of their business is not a good company to work with and the customer will always get the short end of the deal. I was flat out lied to, and I am not even able to get the name of the plumber who they claim adjusted my water pressure. I will pay for the dishonesty for some time in monetary funds and they will not ever have my business or respect again--it would be very undeserved. read more
