After they took the order, never came back to check if we needed anything!! We had to go search for them to ask for water, more wine etc. what a joke!! Stay away from this place. You will be very disappointed!

But: - Apparently the person showing guests the tables was new, and she sent everyone to tables serviced by the same waitress. - As a result, every time we wanted to order drinks or food, it took ages to order, and even longer to arrive. - After waiting an hour for our food, it turned out the kitchen lost our order (and of the table next to us), and we had to wait ages again for our food. Not sure the good food outweighted the huge wait.

Lets be honest here, the real reason this place is consistently getting 5 stars is not the fact…read moreit's a really nice beach right in the city, or that drinking any type of cocktail tastes that much better barefoot; it's really because this is Germany and nobody gives a crap if you sunbathe in the nude. It just so happens that this bar is located on a beautiful secluded part of the river, and there's no better place to take your clothes off and have a mojito than on a beach. Ladies: this is not a place to feel bashful, but you'd certainly need to feel comfortable topless in front of a bunch of grandpas who stumble over from their moldy boats in the marina next door. Beyond that its a damn fine place to get a tan like i did! Fellas: this isnt the place to pick up chicks, seriously, dont push your luck otherwise you might find your face in the sand like some obnoxious Brit i saw. Just kick your feet up with a beer and quietly enjoy the view (environmental and human).

28 Grad is an awesome beach club - the best in Hamburg…read more Seriously, if the weather is good in Hamburg, it's worth jumping on the S1 train to Wedel. Once you arrive there, you still have a 10 minute walk down to the beach. The other way to get here - my preferred way - is to cycle alongside the Elbe. Close to Wedel you're forced inland to make your way around some huge ugly industrial complex, but don't be dissuaded - you can't see anything of it from the beach. Once you finally arrive you'll find a lovely little beach club that's situated at one end of one of the nicest beaches in Hamburg. If the tide is in, the beach can be a little narrow, but the bay is very shallow, which makes it great for children for paddling and swimming. Also, if the tide is out the beach quickly becomes rather large, flat and perfect for a game of beach cricket or football. As with all beach clubs the prices are somewhat inflated and you should expect to pay a EUR1 deposit on any glass or bottle. This is the best beach bar in Hamburg though :)

We had the grilled chicken and a schnitzel and it was cooked ideally and definitely more than worth its price. The menu also has quite some seafood that most pubs and bars around here don't. The location is very near to all hotels around the train station so perfect for a dinner if you arrive late! The beers were also very good and reasonably priced. Extremely happy with this place.

The black haired waitress is among the rudest waitresses if not the rudest that I have ever met: she was so bad that I think she screwed with our group of four entire order because she despises Americans. I ordered the Labskous dish, but she brought some goulash dish and insisted that it was what I had ordered and claimed that Labskous was not even on the menu. She then abruptly left and did not return or deal with the wrong order- we hear her complaining to the gentleman behind the bar about my order. The fish dish we ordered was unevenly cooked and had raw fish sections as well as the Shnitzel- it had raw bloody sections as well. A member of our party became ill over the raw food and spent awhile in the restaurant toilet. It was raining and the porcelain floor tiles were so slippery there was almost a slip and fall accident. After insisting I wanted the Labskous dish she brought it after everyone had finished the edible part, ie cooked through, part of their respective meals. She smirked at me when I did not finish the Labskous as it too was not cooked through. The potato pancakes had powdered sugar on them which was unexpected and gross but maybe that is a German thing. She charged for the goulash which was uneaten and not ordered. The rest of my party was very upset with this choice of restaurant and how poorly we were treated. Here is photo of raw Schnitzel.
