I have been coming to this place for over 12 years now, despite living in Jersey. Drew is my…read morebarber, but all the barbers are great. The place: Conveniently located near the Grant City train station, which back when I commuted on the train was perfect. Not to worry if you drive there though, as there is plenty of street parking. The barbers: Great guys (and gal!). I often joke that I come here for the witty banter, the fact that I get a haircut in the meantime is a bonus. They like that joke. They are all friends and genuinely have been friends for years, so that makes the atmosphere feel authentically friendly and down-to-earth. They love their customers, and most of them have been coming back for years. Not to worry, they also take walk-ins. The atmosphere/shop itself: super clean, usually playing music that ranges from classic rock, to old hip hop and metal. The music selection is like a box of chocolates ... yanevahknowwutchagunnagit. They have local artists work displayed, as well as a few random items placed through the shop that all have stories. Here's one ... there's a glass dalmatian that was donated by a fireman. They put it by the front window and gave it a fireman's hat. Stuff like that. If you want a friendly old-school barber shop, this is your spot. There's conversation, witty banter, and a masculine feel, while at the same time being family friendly (the barbers themselves are family people.) The haircuts: I have seen these gents (and gal!) cut just about all types of haircuts and fades. Whether you want an old fashioned regular haircut, a tight fade, a beard trim, or a suggestion for something new and different, they have you covered. My barber is Drew and he has worked with me for years to modify and switch things up when needed. The other barbers will do the same. I highly recommend this place and these barbers. Louis out.

Definitely my favorite barber shop in Staten Island. Since moving from Queens to Staten Island I…read morewas looking around for a barber shop I would try different places but no one would be able to cut my hair the way I like it. I would end up going back to Queens because I didn't trust anyone else with my hair cut. I was googling around and by luck I found Next Level Barber shop. I started coming to this location, I was coming to them since they were located next door. Gary was my first barber at Next Level and I kept coming back to Gary. He cut my hair perfectly and just the way I wanted it. Once you choose your barber you can call or text your barber for an appointment. Sadly I moved to Long Island and haven't been back to Staten Island and miss Gary as my barber! The place is always clean and the people who run the place are very nice and accommodating. Great place to come!! Highly recommended!!!!!

My quest for finding a decent barbershop has come to an end!!!!!…read more The place has moved to 326 New Dorp Lane. There is parking in the rear of the building that can be accessed from Clawson. Alan is my barber andhe does a great job. He ASKS before doing anything. I can't tell you how many amatuer barbers just assume I want them to taper, fade, or shave a chinstrap into my head just because thats what they did to the 5000 other Staten Island douchebags before me. No, I am not a guido. Do not give me a ceaser without me saying so. Thank you. That all being said, I have used Alan about 4 times now and he still asks what I want. Not because he doesn't remember but because he's smart! They offer all the amenities a salon would have, manicures, hot towel shaves, eyebrows, scalp treatments, etc... What can you do, its Staten Island. A place where men feel the need to have pretty fingernails. I don't get it either but hey, they do great business. Everyone in the salon is super friendly and remembers my name everytime I walk in. The owner Joe, always asks about my car and we end up talking cars for the entire time I'm there. Oh, and the's usually oldies playing in the background as long as Joe is there. Otherwise you may have to suffer through some KTU type crap, but again, it is Staten Island. I'm there for a haircut and a shave, not to listen to music anyway. I can deal with anything so long as my hair gets cut the way I want it. Wo knows how much longer I'll have it!

I travel to the bottom of Staten Island from Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn just to see Donna. And I'm…read morereally glad that I waited until I had a day off to write this. Besides the fact that everyone loves my new hair, since getting it done last week, I have had four separate people ask me if I ever thought about cutting it. The looks on their faces when I told them I had extensions was priceless. Not one person has yet to tell me they can see where my hair ends and the extensions begin. Donna is INSANELY talented at her craft, and I've been paying her to take care of my hair for a few years. She is a serious Jack of All trades when it comes to hair. Every time I see her, I know I'm in great hands. From chopping off my hair, to shaving parts of it and giving me an undercut, to several different colors and bleach, to finally the extensions I got last week. When you're getting your hair washed, you're also getting a massage from the chair. I left the shop feeling like a million dollars. The Barbershop decor is awesome. Donna and her husband Al are an actual power couple. Dave is pretty cool too. My boyfriend and I are repeat customers, and I tell anyone who compliments my hair that Donna is a magic maker. I've been walking around feeling like a fabulous Live Action Mermaid for a week. ‍
