I strongly advise anyone considering Story Leather to think twice. Since September 2025, I emailed them over ten times with no response whatsoever. The only time I finally heard back was after I mailed in my key fob for repair -- and that turned into an even bigger nightmare. I shipped my key fob to them in October 2025, and they lost it. Instead of taking responsibility, they've shown zero accountability and continue to ignore my attempts to resolve the issue. Their communication is absolutely terrible, and at this point I have no idea how people continue to support a company that treats customers this way. Story Leather has completely lost my trust and respect. I will never purchase from them again, and I strongly recommend others avoid this unreliable company. The car key cover for my Porsche Cayman S is among the worst products I've ever purchased. The case is not large enough for the key fob to fit within and close. The magnetic tab does not extend far enough to reach the far side of the case, and even if it did, the magnet is far too weak to attach to the far side. The case needs to be larger, the magnet stronger, and it should probably have a second magnetic tab at the other end of the cover. read more

Ive had my custom phone holster for over a year. The snap on it didn't hold. I e-mailed Story Leather to ask if it could be fixed. They gave me a returned goods authorization and told me it would take a month. I sent it back USPS priority mail to get a proof of delivery. It's over one month that they received the holster. I have ordered 2 different car key fob covers from Story Leather before and the product was nice it just takes a very long time to get the finished product. This time I ordered two car key fobs for a new car and after placing the order I received an email requesting photos of the key fob (which makes sense in order to ensure it is the right product). I sent the photos in immediately, however 11 days later I received another email requesting photos and when I called to follow-up I was told initially told there was no record of me supplying the photos. I gave the details (name of the team member I provided the photos to - and they were then able to confirm I had indeed sent the photos in. When I mentioned that we were now 11 days behind in an already very long process (about one month without any administrative glitches) and these were to be a birthday gift - they simply said they would be happy to cancel the order. (and it will take 5 to 7 days to issue a refund) They did not apologize for the screw up on their end or give any re-assurances that they would now rush the process to deliver the order on time. I purchased an expensive iPhone 12 case from Story Leather over the internet, which didn't last 7 months. Here's what happened: While seated in an office chair, my iPhone dropped to the floor.  It was a mere 2-foot drop at most with a minor impact, but it cracked the plastic mold in two spots in the upper right corner (see attached photo). My iPhone no longer is securely seated in the case because the flimsy plastic mold Story Leather uses is not durable enough to withstand a minor impact.   Sadly, the company will not stand behind their flawed product. They should use a much more durable plastic mold to avoid serious damage caused by a minor impact. They would do nothing to resolve this issue other than provide a 15% discount on my next purchase ... lol ... why would I bother with that when they can't get my first purchase right. read more

TL/DR. Summary: A $130 "custom" case that required a 6wk wait yielded a poor fit and zero accountability from Storyleather. They explained that they add 0.1-0.2cm all around to ensure proper fitting, but did not attempt to explain how the fit discrepancy was 0.9-1cm (because they can't). Despite their claim that if an error occurs on their end they will remake piece free of charge or issue a refund, they offered lip service and tried to suggest that remaking the case would yield "exactly" the same results. In my case, their explanation/excuses failed to explain how much the fit discrepancy was off, so requested a refund. The return/refund process took over two weeks, and Story Leather DID NOT reimburse for return shipping even though they were responsible for the error in fit. All in all I didn't have a great experience so sharing this as a warning to others. My experience: I've ordered two phone cases from Storyleather, first back in 2015 and again more recently in November of 2020. I carry a work phone and a personal phone and they were one of the few options I found that could accommodate two phones. I was quite satisfied with the first case and it served me well for 5 years, so I decided to order another when I finally upgraded my phones. I placed the order on 11/8 and received it on 12/21. The case I received was larger/bulkier than the specifications I provided, so I reached out to Storyleather to express my disappointment with a "custom" case that doesn't end up fitting well. Their website states that "if an error occurs on our end, we will remake the piece free of charge or issue a refund." Someone named Connie Lee responded to suggest that the dimensions I provided (1.4cm per phone) may be thicker than the actual thickness of my phones with cases on, and asked me to remeasure and confirm the dimensions. I did so and also provided specifications from the case manufacturer (1.35cm per phone), explaining that I rounded up 0.05cm per phone to 1.4cm because the previous case I ordered from them was too tight and made it difficult to insert/remove two phones. The case I received was about 0.9-1cm thicker than the specifications I provided. Connie replied to me and stated that they "add 0.1-0.2cm all around to ensure proper fitting" and blamed my "padding extra" 0.1cm for the reason my case did not fit correctly. She claimed that if they "were to rebuild the case with same dimensions, the case will turn out exactly the same." I'm not exactly sure how adding 0.1-0.2cm all around, plus my 0.1cm "padding" could justify the 0.9-1.0cm discrepancy. Apparently she couldn't explain the discrepancy. Instead of offering to remake the case or issue a refund, I basically received lip service and the suggestion that even if they remade the case I would get "exactly" the same results. Quite disappointing to pay $130 for a custom case and wait 6 weeks to find out it doesn't fit and the company couldn't care less about proper fit. I pushed for a refund, but Story Leather did not cover return shipping costs despite being responsible for the error and took over two weeks to process the refund. My wife and I have been buying iPhone cases from Storyleather for years, as well as car key fob cases, and we have always been satisfied with the service and the quality. Things changed about a year ago: I purchase a case for an iPhone 14 and I specified that I was going to use it with the original Apple leather case back. When I received it I was surprised to see that it was so big, my phone literally was floating inside. We called customer service and they were very blunt, saying that that's how the case was designed, and that if we wanted a tighter fit we should order it for the iPhone alone, without the case back. All they did was give us a 20% discount to order another one. Stupidly we accepted and reordered a case, this time without specifying the case back. Things got ugly when the new case arrived: it was under the right size, but the flap did not close properly, even without the phone inside! So we call them and they are extremely rude, saying that we were the ones who decided we wanted a tighter case. There was no way to explain that the case they sent us was defective, that the flap did not snap shut as usual, even with no phone inside. In the end they give us a return ticket and say that they were going to take a look at the case. We send back the case at our own cost, and wait for an update. For over a month! We finally decide to contact them and their first reply is that they did not receive it. Then they say it was misplaced and that they just found it. Minutes later, they say it looked fine and that they are shipping it back as is. Again, they say that we should have ordered to fit the case back, which was not the point, the magnets in the flap are either weaker or not properly located. This is the third iPhone case I have purchased from Story Leather. Each has had about the same result. The leather looks great-- it's a good looking case. However, on the first case, the plastic around the phone cracked within 90 days, and the phone kept falling out of the case. I ordered a new one, and they gave me a 15% discount. I kept that case for one year before upgrading the phone. It was barely hanging on by that time. I should have learned my lesson abbot the poor quality of these (quite) expensive cases. When I received my iPhone 12, I ordered another Story case. In less than 3 weeks, the plastic in the case cracked and it was not usable. They have totally ghosted me when there was a problem. I purchased a case for my iphone14. There was a 25-30 day lead time. After 30 days, when my case didn't arrive I contacted them and they said there was a problem with the design and the cases were being remade and I should have it in two weeks. Three weeks later I contacted them again and they said the case would ship this past Monday with a tracking number. The tracking states there is a shipping label at USPS but no case! It is now Friday the tracking hasn't updated and Story Leather refuses to call me back even though I have left several messages with customer service. We have purchased several leather items from Story Leather and while the "look" of their products is great the quality is very bad. All 4 phone cases purchased have the same problem where the leather at the front top bends and eventually (within a year) cracks. I asked for a discount to replace the case that cracked and they offered a very small % off. One would think they would treat a repeat customer of 5 purchases better. The wallet which I had monogrammed/embossed is merely a stamped lettering which is the same color as the wallet and can barely be seen. In further, the belt clips they put on the cases are way too loose and we have to add rubber bands to keep the cases from falling off! Love the options and pre set color combinations they have for their in stock items. Their leather is by far some of the best leather around and don't even get me started on the lambskin bags and wallets, softest in town! Though the lambskin is very delicate and not for everyone it is nice to have that option. I ordered a Dakota V1 almost 2 year ago when they launched this new product and I have and will not buy any other phone/wallet from another brand again! This is hands down one of the best designs and phone/wallets available on the market while still being affordable. Buyer beware of Story Leather. Read the reviews and the miserable experiences that customers have had. I ordered a key Fob for my new BMW 2022 740i. I also order key fobs from Russia and Thailand. My fobs were produced and shipped and I have received both from Russia and Thailand. On may 17 around the same time I ordered and paid for another key fob from Story leather. Sent pictures of the fob etc. After a month of waiting I called only to get a recording asking to leave a message however no return call. Over the course of the transaction I sent periodic e mails only one received a response telling me all was ok and I would receive the fob the next week. No fob. So I contacted paypal to look into and sent another message. At the time did not escalate the claim in hopes of a response. After 3 days with no response I escalated the response with paypal. 1 minute after I escalated the response I received an e mail from Story Leather *(Connie) telling me that my item was ready to ship however since there was a claim with paypal they could not ship until claim was settled. Purchased a cell phone case and it basically disintegrated in just a few months. All corners have the leather lifting off. And the leather itself isn't great quality. Workmanship is poor with substandard means to attach the leather to the cheap case. The case itself it brittle. Story Leather admits that it's cases are "decorative" and it's clear that they are brittle and will provide minimal protection. The customer service is horrendous (basically non-responsive) and clueless. It's despicable that something of such obvious poor quality is being marketed as a "premium" product. If you want a "disposable" case that will cost you a lot and frustrate you, then stick to Story Leather. If you want better quality at a lower price, go to Etsy. Story Leather itself is one of the worst retailers I have come across and this case is the single worst performing item I have ever had. I bought the leather ostrich case for my iPhone. The case was expensive and took awhile to receive. At first I loved it but the narrow strap began to stretch and my phone fell out of the case and had to replace my screen. It is an obvious design flaw. No way is that narrow strip going to maintain the integrity it needs to hold the phone. I carry my phone in a separate pocket inside my bag so it was protected from anything catching on it. I called and talked to Anthony and sent him 3 photos so he could see how well it had been cared for and see the problem area. He said he couldn't help me.
