For me as a senior even the senior tee's (mercifully placed not too far from the women's as the rating is one of the very toughest in the state.) are more than enough of a challenge. Jim and Dave the brothers who run this facility are a treat to know. The place is steeped in history and I only wish I had found this course many years sooner than i did.

Bag drop was efficient, and the course was in pristine shape. Nice from the tee box, through fairways, to nice rolling greens! Fun to play...with interesting challenges. After hitting the little white ball around we enjoyed a delicious buffet supper. Staff kept busy checking on guests and keeping thing tidy and clean. The clubhouse building and facilities are obviously well-kept, attended to and clean. This is a quality country club. If I lived closer I'd be a member for sure!

In 2025, Fox Run is under new ownership and the impact has been immediately positive in every way. I have been playing at this course since 2020 and I always thought it was a decent course but it was certainly not my go to. In early 2025, I decided to play around here not expecting much at all. I was very much surprised (in a good way). The new ownership group is incredibly positive and kind. The family has a passion and joy for the game which makes the round enjoyable from the start. The course itself has improved as well. The course is better maintained and looks beautiful. They allow carts out until the absolute last moment of the sunset which is very rare. I was able to get 18 holes in with a 5:50 tee time the other day. Highly recommend everyone get out and play a round here if you haven't and especially if you haven't under the new owners in 2025.

Per the employee we spoke to, it takes approximately one hour per person to finish an 18 hole course on the simulator. We came back on Sunday and it was definitely less crowded. While we waited for our turn, we ordered some drinks and food at the bar. The food was lackluster, but I wasn't expecting much. Basic tortilla chips and nacho cheese/salsa. The boneless wings were decent and fresh, but they didn't have just a regular buffalo hot wing flavor, so we just got them without sauce. The simulator was explained to us in detail and we took some time to practice before getting "on" the course. We brought our own clubs, but we were told you can borrow clubs, if necessary. You definitely have to know how to golf if you're trying to get through the course. It's been a while since I golfed, so the good news for me is that they cutcyou off after double par. Ha. Because of my lack of skills, we only made it through 9 holes in 2 hours, but it was still a lot of fun. The simulators have cameras above you so you can actually play back your swing and see what you're doing right/wrong. The balls are dispensed on a tee with the push of a button, which is nice. The simulator is pretty accurate when it comes to your swing - mine barely went anywhere, while my husband's went far. Haha. I was a bit skeptical about Putt Shack because I had heard many mixed reviews and know it is a…read morelarge corporate chain. I finally visited for the first time in late June and was pleasantly surprised at what a fun time we had. You can either register online prior to your arrival or you can use one of their ipads to register. Each player gets a golf ball that is individually coded to them. So it tracks every stroke you take (no cheating) and automatically adds the score (including bonus points on some holes). One nice thing is that you can skip around if there are lines at the holes. This is really helpful especially if you are there with a group. They also have tables throughout the course that let you place your drink down. You do need to pay attention to make sure you stay on your own course because the two courses are right next to each other. If your ball suddenly isn't registering, it is probably because you are on the wrong course. Food is pretty tasty (although a little overpriced). You can eat any time and they have an option that you can order food before you golf and have it ready for when you are done (but I imagine it could get difficult to try and time that correctly), There is metered street parking right outside and a large surface lot behind the building. It appeared most people were putting not so much eating. We played nine holes and I could have easily stayed for another nine. It is pricey for four people. I appreciated the servers coming to the holes for drinks. Each hole has a space to place your drinks while you putt. PuttShack was the perfect family outing for us. The ball is digitally assigned to each person. There is no keeping track of the score. Every time you put the ball on the tee the computer recognizes you.
