We replaced the tire with my spare donut from the back but as those are only supposed to drive 50-70 miles and we had 300+ miles left to go, we needed to buy a longer lasting spare tire or replacement tire. My AAA - freakin useless, my liberty mutual roadside - useless, called every tow company, tire shop and roadside service in eastern Iowa, and in Illinois... not like we were in the middle of nowhere. Found one roadside that would bring a spare tire but they wanted $1,000 card hold..... We spoke to 30+ different places within that hour... Tires24 was literally the only place somewhat on the way that was open late. Someone answered right away, the guy on phone was patient and nice, assured us he would take us, even though we couldn't get there until right before closing because we had to drive below speed limit on the donut. When we got there, Lamont (the gentleman working) greeted us and understood and sympathized with our stressful trip there. He replaced the tire efficiently and was super professional and welcoming. The cost was surprisingly affordable, we weren't there very long at all which was great because we were exhausted. Lamont saved our asses and we highly recommend anyone in the NW illinois area call these guys first for tire and auto issues.

I called for a quote on engine repair for my 2011 Jeep Cherokee and was later quoted $13,000.00 to replace the engine. The engine itself only cost $2,500-$3000, so this company was attempting to charge me $10,000+ in labor and taxes. I have the estimate as proof! I am very well educated in automotive repair and it does not cost $13k to replace an engine on a vehicle with a 3.6 engine. The normal price range is $4k-$5500. I'm not sure if this was racially motivated but I will never visit this company or refer anyone to this company! Sheisters!!! And judging by the previous comments and complaints about being overcharged, this is normal practice.

Over the last three years, I have purchased 8 tires, countless oil changes, three tire alignments, brakes and pads, a rim, a tire barring thing, and an embarrassing amount of tire patches. Chip and his team have been there with me along the way. Walk-in or appointment, I am always greeted warmly and made to feel comfortable. The service is quick, informative, fairly priced, and not intimidating at all. Here are some of the highlights: *Easy key drop box for off-hours car drop off, with envelopes *The service team has taken me back in the shop to show me certain things on my car when I didn't understand *Sometimes when waiting for my car, I go across the street to a restaurant. Chip will walk my keys over if I don't hear my cell phone ringing! *I went through a divorce in this time and he assisted me in getting all of the account information changed over in a very gentle, smooth manner. *I had fraud on my debit card, was trying to use another card that wouldn't work because of a student limit (I transferred funds to my son's card thinking it would work) so Chip took the shop shuttle and drove me to the bank so I could get cash. Always helpful, very gracious, not annoyed by my situation. THE BIG ONE - From getting to know Chip over the last three years, we discovered that we live in the same small Indiana town. I recently had a bad house fire and had been displaced. Chip recognized that it was my house that had the fire so when he found I had dropped my car off for some repairs, he took it upon himself to organize among him and the team to change out my brake light free of charge. Why? Because he and his team wanted me to have one less thing to worry about during this time of tragedy. I will literally never go anywhere else for car repairs specifically because of Chip. I like Levin Tire because of location, service options, value, and staff. I am loyal to Levin Tire because Chip is there. You are lucky to have him.

There was no wait to get my car in, like Mark had said over the phone, and Kevin began working on my tire almost immediately. They let me watch everything that was happening (I like to see the process out of curiousity) and just stand right there in the garage with them. (I should note here that I was completely safe and was in a cleared out area next to my vehicle) They told me that the tire that had blown out had "wear" on a specific place that suggested it had been aligned wrong previously. (THANKS! Scott's U-Save; see my review on that joke of an establishment) It took maybe 15 minutes to finish the job but I ended up staying there for about 20 minutes afterwards just talking and joking around with them like we were close friends. They truly made me feel like a family member instead of a customer with money. I left with a smile on my face for not only being surprised by the great service this small business offered but also in knowing I hadn't been taken advantage of.
