Campus Side Apartments

Campus Side Apartments

This is my second year living at Campus Side. I live alone in the North Building--the second to…read morenewest building. This building houses one-person and four-person apartments. It's generally pretty quiet here. The rooms themselves are pretty nice, especially comparing to some other places. If you want to live alone, it's probably your best bet, unless you can find something cheaper. The rent is $595/month for my apartment. Pretty high for a college student's budget, but still cheaper than some of the dorms. There is a laundry room, and a recreation room, which has exercise equipment and a TV/couch room, as well as tanning beds. It's all free to use, except the tanning. The rec room is open until I believe 7pm at night, and the laundry facilities are 24/7. Location to campus is pretty good; it's about 3/4 of a mile to walk to the Union from here, or you can catch the Happy Bus which stops here every half hour. The people in the office are nice--I've never personally dealt with the landlord, but I've talked on the phone to the two ladies who work there and they're always extremely pleasant and helpful. Maintenance is also great; they come out same day if it's not too late in the day, or next weekday if they can't get to you then. There's adequate parking. Each resident gets a decal for their car, and a guest pass. They plow and salt during the winter, from what I can see. I don't have a car with me, but there haven't been any accidents in the parking lot or anything. There isn't really an apartment "social life" in this complex, so if you're trying to get the dorm experience where you're always with people, you probably shouldn't rent here. Like I said, this building is all single person or four-person apartments. Campus Side doesn't have any events or anything, and the only common area is the rec room and laundry room, which don't get very crowded, ever. If you like keeping to yourself, then you'd love it here! That being said, if you do enjoy partying at the infamous Pine Glenn (Keister) Apartments, they're right across the street. On the other hand, if you enjoy laughing at idiotic drunk people, you can look out your window and make a night of it! My only gripe is that they started construction on their newest building (their building that houses the personal villas), without saying anything to current residents. There has probably been a collective 3-4 weeks where they did construction round the clock, and there were countless times that I woke up at 2am from the "beep beep beep" of whatever truck was being used at the time. They didn't start round the clock until after school was out, but during the school year, they did start around 7am every day. This was brutal during finals week--I actually have a sleeping disorder, and starting at 7am absolutely fried my brain. They are mostly done with construction now, though, so no problem for incoming residents! Overall, I'd recommend it here. If you can afford it, take a tour and submit an application!

DO NOT LIVE HERE. Property Manager is atrocious (Kristin). I lived here for a year last year. She…read moreis beyond rude and FAKE. She has her employees write fake reviews on here to make herself look better. She is cold hearted and will charge you for anything and everything. One time and I have emails to prove it, she wrote an extremely INAPPROPRIATE email to all residents about laundry. As well as uploaded pictures of someone's dirty clothes and dirty underwear. Stay away. DO NOT LIVE HERE.

This complex is now known as Campus Edge. Although it is within walking distance and one of the…read morecheaper rental apartments, they are not that nice and rent goes up every year. Management continues to make minuscule, irrelevant "improvements" to justify raising the rent. We still have old appliances and furniture, unlike the sample apartments they showed us. Meanwhile, nothing in the apartments are being upgraded. Our stove needs fixed, our door needs fixed, and lights need replaced. We cannot fill out a work order because they have not hired a maintenance worker for MONTHS. Additionally, they were not honest about water prices and the transfer to a new company which charges us four times the usual amount. Management is inconsistent in the information they provide whenever I have called and constantly avoid answering my questions. PLUS the wifi never works which is frustrating because it is written in the lease that wifi is provided. If anyone is trying to find an apartment in Slippery Rock, look into the landlords who own houses--it's rolling the dice but could be more honest and inexpensive. Campus Side was a nice place to live too. In my experience, the off-campus housing in the area is difficult because college students are easily taken advantage of.

They have no problem treating their well paying tenants like they're less than them and giving attitude. Please take my word for it. They charge way too much to live there and on top of all of it, the club house is only accessible M-F 9-5. So good luck being able to use that after work/classes lol. If I could give 0 stars I would because there is nothing about this place that deserves a star. DO NOT LIVE HERE. There are so many more affordable options near campus to live. Choosing them is my biggest regret!

If you live here, make sure you take photos and videos of everything! During move out they will charge you as much as they can, stating that you ruined the walls so they need to repaint, you damaged the doors and now they must be replaced, you did not clean well enough so they needed level 5 professional cleaning services. These may sound like trivial or small charges but they will amount to $500+ (for each roommate, not total) and you cannot do anything about it. Also, do not forget any personal items. I left a religious item by accident when I moved out. They had no sympathy when I realized I forgot it, they told me they found it and threw it out, I was never informed. We also got bed bugs twice....so think twice before renting from this company.

Be prepared for frequent, interrupted maintenance visits to your home. My personal experience was marred by poor treatment from the onset, culminating in my eviction after less than three months of residency. Notably, I was eight months pregnant at the time. Upon moving out, I was subjected to additional, unwarranted charges, including a $450 fee for a damaged carpet that was actually threads from a towel and a $250 cleaning fee for a left-behind pan, and a lid. Furthermore, I was charged $60 for a blind there is no way a blind cost that much.Slippery rock Garden Apartments, also operating as Campus Edge Apartments, seems to prioritize poor treatment of residents. It is challenging to establish communication with them, as they often resort to yelling and hanging up when confronted about their actions.

First, spoke to Kristin, we have to back out of a lease due to medical reasons and we are giving 120 days notice before lease takes effect, move in date of mid-August 2023. "NO POSSESION OF KEY", has been made either. This is simple greed by a Real Estate agent not acting in good faith. Kristin Pascoe CEO, Colasacco Real Estate Group, response, " we will file for a judgement against both parties for the full lease amount of $11,280.00 through the local courts." Tenant has no rights according to lease agreement. RENTER BEWARE. Second, Rent due monthly is $968 at 1st of the month, yet one is not allowed to take hold of dwelling until Aug 16th 2023. Really? So tenant is suppose to accept losing $460.00? If you are paying rent for the whole month then access should be given at 1st of month. Rest of this lease reads to be in favor of landlord and charge for every minor infraction. Have your college kid look elsewhere before you pay penalities of $500 for dog poop or uninvited guest or damages from wear and tear. Ridiculous. Lastly, the leasing agent last response in an email: "See you in court in August, then! Also take note in the lease, all legal fees we incur will be your responsibility to pay Thanks! Kristin Pascoe"
