Nichole has a special talent for understanding the underlying causes of behavior problems and implementing training techniques that encourage positive changes. She has now worked with two of our Belgian Shepherds. Both came to her with seemingly insurmountable issues including dog and person aggression. Nichole combined obedience training with various sports training and both dogs are now well on their way to being really good dogs. Nichole is an extrordinarily great trainer. The price of her programs are fair and her results far exceed those of other much higher priced boot camps and board and trains. I can't recommend her highly enough! This breeder is producing less than genetically sound German Shepherds. I personally had the unfortunate experience of owning one of her dogs that was literally a genetic mess. For starters he had kinked tail. Otherwise known as Hemivertebrea, Stacy, the owners daughter told me it happened due to overcrowding in the uterus. Reality, it is a genetic condition. That can also effect the dogs other vertebrae in the spine. My dog had Medial Luxating Patella, also, a genetic condition, that should never have occurred because the breeder claims to do OFA testing on all her dogs. My boy had bad arthritis by the age of 18 months. When contacting the breeder, I was told it was my fault, I "overworked him" it was environmental, so she tried to tell me. However my orthopedic specialist believed that was not the case. Later he started to develop lameness in his hind legs. When taking him to another specialist they believed it was neurological. More than likely his hemivertabrea was in his spine as well. We had an appointment with a neurologist when he passed away from unexplained bloat. Which can and is usually genetic, past through family blood lines, as well. Later after posting to several FB groups I have had several owners privately contact me telling me of their orthopedic problems with their dogs as well. Several have had dogs with bilateral hip replacements at young ages often by the age of 2. One pup had bilateral hip dysplasia and passed at the age of 8 months from bloat. Another one of this breeders dogs also had a kinked tail. This breeder is not being honest with what she is producing and is often brushing it off as a "one time unfortunate thing." When my dog passed away I tried to inform the Stonehill family on her FB group, however she would not approve the post, later I was removed completely from her FB page. Even though I do own another one of her dogs. The reason for this is a buyer beware. This is happening far too often with her dogs, and it is all being covered up, or dismissed as the owners fault, or a "one time occurrence ". Majority of owners I have spoken to have contacted me privately, I have every DM saved. I believe strongly in maintaining breed integrity and this is not happening. Unfortunately my boy passed away at the age of only 4.8 yrs old. He passed from unexplained Bloat, again it's genetic and I am not the only one of her dogs owners that have experienced this. Yes bloat can happen to anyone, the night my boy got it, he simply ate his food, only 2 cups, had a small drink of water and within 2 hrs , we had to put him down. The health issues are horrible, none of these dogs should have ever, had to suffer a lifetime of pain due to substandard breeding. This breeder claims all her dogs are OFA tested, if this was true, why are so many getting severe hip issues, and like my boy Medial Luxating Patella?? Beware I will give 1 star, because he was the best boy, and did have a wonderful temperament. read more

From the very first night I brought Barron home there were issues. He came home with a severe respiratory infection. Cost for emergency treatment $500. Over the next two years that I had Bear he had numerous issues including elbow dysplasia in both elbows..cost $7500. for the operation $2500 for rehab. After Bear got past this issue he developed numerous infections and skin problems. All together I spent $25000 on Bear in two years. Don't get me wrong I loved him dearly and when I lost him at 2.5 years old it crushed me. I've read a lot of very good reviews about Stonehill puppies but that was not MY experience read more

Nichole is an amazing trainer. Our 1 year old GSD was very aggressive towards people. Attempted to bite someone. After training with Nichole he is a completely different dog. We were so impressed with him that we chose to do training for our first dog with Stacy. After getting more familiar with the kennel and staff we made the decision to get our second GSD from Stonehill and we are madly in love. She is confident, stable, healthy and absolutely beautiful. They breed trainable, gorgeous, level headed dogs. Our dogs love everyone who works here. A couple of my family members have purchased Stonehill GSD's and they are amazing dogs! Three months ago I brought home my first Stonehill pup. Bruno is one of the most amazing animals I have ever encountered. The comment I get from almost every person who meets him is " That is the calmest sweetest puppies I have ever met. " Even at 10 weeks I took him into a local small gift shop that is pet friendly and he calmly sat by my side as I talked to the retailer and eventually laid across my foot and fell asleep. My experience with Shelly and her staff was a dream. They were very detailed in helping me pick out what kind of pup would work for me and they give you everything you could ask for and more at pick up. If you are interested in getting a German Shepard this is the ONLY place to go. Shelley and her staff are wonderful, caring people whose #1 priority are the dogs, placing them with a perfect family and you have access to their outstanding training, boarding and (puppy and dog) socials. We got our Jake about 5 1/2 years ago and he has attended extensive training with her and its worth every dime for these AKC kennel dogs. Stonehill has trained and placed countless therapy and police dogs as well as dogs that are family pets. . These dogs are expensive but you get what you pay for. read more

While Shelly is awesome, helpful and knows her stuff as far as training, socialization, etc.; the dogs I have bought (2), and my daughter has bought (1) have had major hip dysplasia even though sold as OFA certified. My vet said of my first shepherd; he had never seen such bad hip dysplasia. I do have to say my first dog cost was refunded. My second dog she said she would take the dog back; however who wants to give up a dog they love after a year or two? Another friend of ours bought one of her dogs and the dog had a major seizure disorder. Needless to say when I am in the market for my next shepherd I will not be buying from Stonehill Kennels. read more
