The company sends automated texts and emails to every single resident EVERY DAY reminding us to create an account with them in order to tell them that I have no pets. The corporate management company sent me an email explaining that this is not illegal and is fine because it is allowed under the privacy policy that all residents are required to sign at move-in. The property manager did reach out to the company to get them to stop spamming me after I posted this review, but also explained that their actions were completely acceptable. So I'm not removing the review until I hear from CIP that they don't plan to sign us all up for more spam texts on our personal cell phones.

The "buzz to open door" entry system has never worked, not sure how police/fire would get in during emergency Management company is out of state, they have been notified I'm displeased but are evidently too busy building more apartments to respond.

MUCH better deals for flat mates area, esp w only 1 mailbox key! Four lights in bathrooms with ONE switch!Heat lamp is close to door, not tub, and with no HVAC vent-VERY cold in winter! Only outlet by sink, so even space heater didn't help. You WILL miss a laundry room. Not very considerate neighbors. DON'T rent on 3rd floor; halls ALWAYS smell terribly! St. F. PA VERY noisy-even w windows closed, blinds down, and thermal drapes! (Not to mention train.) Much storage space (esp if you are over 6 ft. and can reach microwave and upper cabinets.) If wind is over 10 mph, your windows will shake, rattle, & roll! Good maintenance but sad that 5 yr old building's faucets and towel bars pop off easily, ceiling lights are falling, and even with newer appliances, utility bills were twice as high! Being lied to that there were no highest floor apartments available was bad but I have 'disabled' plates. (Have trouble walking, with severe asthma and stated so at initial tour.) Was given parking space FURTHEST from elevator! (Luckily, someone else had taken it.) Then given one in between, despite several disabled' ones empty AND 5 cars with out plates/ tags in those spots on east side alone. (Now there are 7!!!) Friendly leasing agent who tries but mgr is clueless! Not only did it take over a month to get initial questions, etc., settled, someone stole 1 (of 2) shopping carts 1st month we were there. 2 months later, they bought 2 more. 4 months after that, she thought there were still 4! (And never one when needed). We did get 24 hour package access after several months though. They try to 'add value' with Saturday morning snacks and occasional 'resident appreciation' type socials but why not give winter parking deals, a warmer than 60 degree pool in June, and a car wash-n-vac (more people have cars that need washing than dogs, btw). Having a 'Welcome Packet' with clear appliance, Internet, and recycling instructions would have been VERY helpful and SERVICE-oriented. A 25%, second year rent increase with NO negotiation WAS NOT!!! erin50266@gmail.

This is the third one-star review for this complex. Please understand they are warranted…read more.. I put in an online application for this complex due to its location. When I went on a tour, the people who did the tour were nice. The property and apartments aren't nice and the other apartments in the area are much nicer for less money. This apartment changed the move-in special after I put in my application and said they couldn't offer me the special due to "fair housing laws" (I think she meant fair housing act) even though I had NOT signed a lease. Look for other apartments in the area... There are good options.

I've lived in West Des Moines for a while and have stayed in a few different apartment communities…read morearound this area, and overall Strathmore has been a great place to live. The apartments themselves are nice and the community is well kept. One of the best things here is the maintenance team. They've always been on point whenever something needs to be fixed, and requests are handled quickly and professionally. It's definitely one of the better maintenance experiences I've had compared to other apartments in the area. As far as noise goes, I would say it's about the same as most other apartment communities around West Des Moines. Nothing out of the ordinary compared to other places I've lived nearby. Overall, if you're looking for a solid apartment in the Jordan Creek area, Strathmore is definitely worth checking out.

I'm writing this review at 12AM after my neighbors woke me up with their screaming, as it is a…read moreregular occurrence. The walls and floors are so thin, you can hear normal talking. However, when your neighbors have the loudest conversation/phone call possible in the middle of the night, you can hear every single word. Between that and loud tvs and dogs barking for hours at a time, you will get the absolute worst sleep of your life in this apartment. Reviews that say this place is quiet are flat out lying. The building quality is unbelievably cheap. Loud noise literally shakes the walls and floor. I've lived in many apartments for over 15 years across a few states and have experienced nothing this bad. I've endured this nonsense for 12 of 15 months of my lease and I can't wait to move out. I've never been able to walk behind my building during my stay. It has consistently been covered with dog feces. Recently, more feces has moved to the front of the building. Gross. Once you start complaining, they will play phone tag or just ignore you. This place went from about 4.5/5 to 3/5 in the year that I have lived here.

My boyfriend…read morelived here for a few years and what they put him through was extremely unprofessional and just plain awful. Maintenance: there is none. Staff: Extremely rude and NOT helpful at all. Apartment: outdated and lots of problems. Amenities: absolutely disgusting and not maintained. These are just a FEW of our problems with this complex that I have kept a record of: - Leaks under sink. - Leaks and MOLD above shower. - Looks like mold in multiple places in wall to ceiling areas. - No maintenance yet have to pay a maintenance fee. - Weird lighting, half of living room area doesn't have a light. The electrical wiring in this place was very weird. - Fireplace has some weird large stain on it. - Bird poop and wasp nests in balcony area all the time. - Hottub not working and were told it never would again. So it's just a gross hole in the ground attached to the pool. - Clubhouse and pool area not well maintained if even at all. Dirty, smelly, broken equipment, broken pool chairs and entrances. - Apartment complex grounds are not well maintained either. Trash everywhere. - Washer and dryer in uncomfortable area. Dryer door doesn't stay open and blocks the door. Can easily hit your head on dryer door if you bend down for a second because they door just freely swings open and won't stay ajar. - Absolutely TERRIBLE service by elevate living employees and management at this complex. Offices are barely ever open. And they make it very hard to get in contact with anyone about anything. - Windows aren't properly sealed so even when they are closed shut and locked, air gets in. This really sucks in the winter time because the heating doesn't really come into the bedroom area so we had to buy more blankets to stay warm. - Apartment was overall dirty when moved in seemed all they did was wipe the counters and clean the carpets. - Alarm system that was never instructed on how to use it and don't think it even works. - Bad paint job. - Patio door doesn't lock. - Whole apartment complex area is in a dead zone. - Internet is very slow; also expensive for how terrible it is. - Outdated kitchen. Some cabinets have to be lifted up to open or they get stuck. - Light switch for kitchen in weird spot. Have to open the freezer door to turn it on. - Have pool chairs out all year long. So they are pretty weathered down and dirty. They don't even spray down the chairs or clean them what so ever when they open up the pool for the summer. ***If these points don't give you a good picture of the level of awfulness, I have pictures attached of our living conditions.*** If you want to feel good about where you live and not have to stress about things your landlord should be doing for you... do not live here. Save your money for somewhere better, which really isn't too hard to find. 3 top descriptive words for The "Mansions" at Jordan Creek by Elevate Living: INCOMPETENCE. DISGUSTING. SCAM.
