I bypassed the line on my motorcycle and found the lot wasn't even close to full. This last weekend I bought a small item in one section and was stopped in my tracks by the "security" on the next section who told me to check the bag at the table. I went to the table and the lady there told me it was OK to bring the bag in...but when I tried SHE stopped me again. WTF. Now there was no signage or warning to customers but I was supposed to know intuitively that: 1. I was expected to check the bag at a table outside each section, 2. I was expected to get a ticket for the bag, and 3. I was expected to repeat the operation before entering the next several sections. The lady admitted directly this was to prevent shoplifting (of cheap, nearly worthless donations) and they had no problem treating EVERYONE like a potential thief. I haven't seen such a SNAFU goatfark like this since I left the Navy. No more.
