I don't believe that their standards are high enough, and that they often pass students who can't read very well. I volunteer for the probation department, and most of the kids I supervise are from this school. I've seen kids that are in 11th or 12th grade, who have difficulty reading our contract, who have no goals for after high school, and who just have an "I don't care" attitude. I would like to see this school push its students a little harder.

What a super nice school!…read more I participated in an hour-long "outreach" event this month; October 2021 at Enochs Highschool in Turlock, California. I have to this date, never encountered so many genuinely friendly and helpful young people. NAMI Stanislaus, The National Alliance on Mental Illness is the non-profit, grassroots organization I was volunteering for to get the word out about NAMI On-Campus, a NAMI supported program, student organizational group here at Enochs Highschool. This student-ran with adult supervision group provides outreach for the young students in supporting mental health, speaking about it, and stamping out the stigma which can accompany it for the young. The students got along and many were dressed up in 70's Disco Era clothing which looked great and authentic as at their lunch break, they mingled, visited our table full of informational stuff and complimentary items. All the teachers and school personnel I encountered were professional, friendly, and genuinely helpful. The campus and the landscaping were very well maintained and welcoming. This is a very well maintained & super clean school.

There has recently been a situation where one of the students (9th) stepped up against a RACIST…read morestudent (9th). The situation escalated quickly because the racist freshman began to comment on ice deporting other 9th graders families. She was telling other students they should deport themselves. Those words triggered students and they began to defend themselves. The vice principal, taylor clark was pushing the student defending herself. Taylor was holding/pushing the student against a table. To the students defense, she PUSHED clark away from her which did not give clark the hint. The student kicked taylor on her THIGH to get her off. Taylor clark is way bigger than a 9th grade student, think about an adult pushed against you. After this situation took place, taylor clark reported a assault charge against a 9th grader, specifically for "hitting her chin" and "kicking her in the stomach". It was absolutely ridiculous of her to report assault on her chin and stomach when it was her thigh. The student kicked her because taylor was on top of her. Chowchilla union high failed to notify the students parents immigration after the situation which they SHOULD HAVE done. They did not notify any family which caused her parents to come to the school personally to ask for their child. The school failed the student, taylor clark is pressing more charges as we speak, not only to the student but the students family. Taylor is going around telling STUDENTS what is taking place, about how she is pressing charges and the student being arrested. The student was ARRESTED for defending HERSELF AND FAMILIES. With all this ICE around, this topic triggers families and students to the point where they are scared to come out of their homes. It is a disgusting thing happening around the world and horribly disgusting thing to support. Taylor clark is a horrible person for what she has done to a minor. Chowchilla union high failed to give the student any justice for what took place, they instead sided with a lying person and is now letting all this happen. High school should be a place where students support one another, that is what chowchilla specifically preach, yet they fail to give us that.
