I was just hoping to buy a chair and catch a bit of beach time for my birthday, but to my surprise, the hostess let us relax for free. She kindly asked if we planned to order a drink or food and told us to go ahead and enjoy ourselves. Such a sweet and unexpected birthday treat! I ordered a Piña Colada, and my husband got a Mai Tai, both were really good. The vibe was super chill, no pressure to spend more, just pure relaxation. Our server even brought out cold water with ice (a rare luxury in Europe!) without us asking. Even when they started closing the area around 6:15/6:30, no one rushed us out. We stayed until about 7, taking in the beautiful views and calm atmosphere. I genuinely think I'll miss this place every day. Can't wait to come back next time I'm in Nice!

Fish and chips was quite good as well. The ambiance was nice inside. Initially it was quiet, then later it became bit loud though we enjoyed the music. Service was good. Overall it was a good experience and a good place to hang out by the water.

First of all: Hi beach is now WIP ( beach work in progress)…read moreIt changed owners and name and the brother Costes renowned for their luxurious hotel and cafe in Paris took over the Hi hotel and the adjacent beach Stay tuned for another name change in 2019 For now I did not enjoy my lunch at his beach. They had the electro music blaring through multiple loudspeakers and the food was average and quite expensive: The ravioli with truffled oil were extremely creamy and heavy. The chicken was average , the burger came with a mayo based sauce. The branzino was ok , cooked well but expensive at $30 ( we are at the beach after all); I would have liked a starch like rice or potatoes to make it a more complete meal The fish soup came with the usual accouterments ( toasted bread , aioli and cheese) but lacked depth I was told that the steak tartare was good The sorbets were too sweet In all a hefty bill for average food and a headache because of the music 2.5 stars( for branzino and steak tartare)

The waiter then charged me there and told me he would bring the drinks to us. Please remember the beach here is not sand it is full of pebbles of all sizes. Ouch! Bring some waterproof sandals that will stay on your feet while you go into the ocean.
