The stripper Alex came over and asked me to do a private with him, and then when it was over, demanded that I give him $600, I ended up getting it him only getting $ 300 out of me but he was threatening and bullied me into it, that was all my money, I am not very well person, that money was for my hotel, for food, and for fuel in my car to get home when I'm done in Montreal. I had such a good time that we returned for the next three nights and got a chance to talk with some of the locals. I was doubtful at first coming from New York City and thinking this place would be completely sleazy and dirty -- it's not. It's cleaner than most restaurants in NYC. The men who dance are all very good looking and the bartenders are fun and friendly. I was hyper ventilating after the dancer on stage took off his briefs. Oh my! I may have even let out a loud gasp! This is the most "upscale" strip club on the Catherine street. The dancers are pricey but, totally worth it. You can choose a full nude lapdance or semi-nude. The latter is cheaper. We have been here many times and the dancers never disappoint. There is a pool table if you want to shoot some "balls" with the dancers. They are usually playing pool in their skimpy underwear and welcome you to join them (in shooting balls, not dancing). I don't know if I could concentrate on the pool balls while the other kind of balls are staring right in my face. So, I never stepped up to the pool challenge. Came here for a bachelor party. 2 of my best friends' wedding is coming up shortly. It was decided to come here to celebrate their special occasion. We had a BLAST! This place is pretty darn simple. Cover to go in is cheap - $4. (Ladies can go in on Wednesday nights only) And they are open from 8pm to close - which I think is around 3am. Inside is quite spacious. There is a long bar. The Boys and their assets - YES - that's what anyone and everyone who enters this premises comes here for - are - WORTH ALL THAT MONEY! (Canadian $4 and more if I may). OK - Some of them are mediocre and need to be serious about their traits. I mean those shower moves and the twosome scenes - c'mon guys, you cannot laugh when you are pretending or trying to enact a 'private' affair under the water - no no!! No one bought that one! But overall - they all are pretty and pretty damn good at what they do. Hope the boys get enough rest in between the acrobatic stuff that they do. Which they were all quite good at - although not to the level of Cirque du Soleil but definitely Magic Mike et al. The courtesy with which they approached the patrons and changed their selling skills and tactics depending on the initial reaction from the prospective client (For a LAP dance honey!) - was quite admirable. Every time I come to Montréal, this is the bar I most look forward to. The dancers are definitely the hottest of any of the clubs on Catherine Street, and most of them are more than willing to indulge you in a private dance (though be careful... $20 a song adds up quickly!). The bar area is well maintained and clean--the place isn't divey in the slightest. Plus apparently they broadcast the dancers on some sort of subscription-based website, so that should give you some indication of the caliber of dancers they try to get. Drinks can be a little on the expensive side, too, but the bartenders are willing to take both American and Canadian money--but running a tab on a credit card is probably the easiest thing to do. The husband and I were in Montreal for Pride week with another couple. We went to Stock on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday (so ok, we liked it- don't judge ;) ) - wow! - beautiful guys! Everyone in our group had the opportunity to go for a private dance (actually, several). The big take away is that while all the dancers are super friendly and quite personable, the experience you'll have depends on what they are willing to do, and the "chemistry" factor between the two of you. Just bear in mind: A) 90% of the dancers are "straight", and they are all doing this for the money, so don't fool yourself into thinking this is love at first sight (lol!). Just relax, be polite and enjoy the moment, and if you aren't sure what's allowed, ASK! & B) Keep track of how many "songs" you asked the dancer for- just like your doctor, payment is expected at time of service! The dancers will approach anyone who looks their way, assuming you may be interested in a private session, so don't be offended- if not interested, just say "no thank you", and they'll move on, mostly. Some may not take the hint right away, though. C) When they are on the stage, no touching! Save that for the private dances. Remember: the club is on a live video feed world-wide. If you are concerned about someone seeing you, don't sit near the stage / runway. The bar is nice, clean, drinks are moderate (the "bucket of beer" is a better value than individual), the bartenders friendly. While I did see a handful of ladies there, I think that was an exception for Pride weekend. Generally, women are not admitted, except on ladies night. If you expect to drink or have a private dance, bring lots of cash- this bar does not accept credit cards! They have an ATM, but the exchange rate is dismal. Go outside, turn right, and go to the bank on the corner. Oh, yeah- one last thing: For obvious reasons, this place can be quite addictive- if you aren't careful, you could blow your entire travel budget here, so be mindful, lol! read more

Awful attitude from the server On August 14th, 2021. I entered on my own and he approached my table without as much as a hello or what can I get you. I said what kind of beer do you have? He barked out three and obviously didn't know the rest. I simply said I would have one of three he barked out. He returned with my corona and I gave him a $10. He didn't tell me how much and simply walked away with my $10 bill. The manager happened to be around and I asked him how much corona beer is and he told me $7.50. I explained what happened and he went over to the server and a few minutes later and slapped 50 cents on my table. I saw the manager standing near me and mentioned what happened. At this point the manager tells me beer is $9.50 for a bottle of beer. Apparently the $18 cover charge at the door wasn't enough for them. Later as I was signing into my new iPhone which has face recognition as security the same waiter accused me of taking a picture of him. Clearly this server has issues and hates his job as the couple sitting beside me sat with empty glasses as well as others. Obviously the manager backed up the server regarding the price to get through the night and the reality is I would of have given him the $2.50 tip as I tip at least 25 percent giving the pandemic etc. Hopefully the manager coaches or removes this staff member as one person can certainly tarnish an image and historically always had good service. I didn't allow it to ruin my night and simply moved to the bar for my next one to enjoy the gorgeous dancers and pleasant patrons. read more

If you're a gay man from the US, and visiting Montreal, then Stock Bar should be on your list of places to see. However, you should first understand the differences of how male dancers conduct business in Montreal. In the US, a dancer typically performs, and then works the room, giving customer attention. They are commonly rewarded with dollar bills, one at a time, when when the customer wishes to continue that attention. when you get to Canada, one of the first things you'll realize is that there are no dollar bills. They only use coins. Instead, the dancers here will perform, and work the room, but will then start conversation with a customer who may appear interested (Some are much more forward than others). Their goal is to offer you private dances in booths, at $20 a song. It might sound hefty, but you'll find this to be well worth the price, with the right guy. In my experience at Stock Bar, the dancers were much more diverse than I had read in previous reviews. Yes, a large percentage of their dancers are hot jocks, the type most of us drooled in high school or college, but knew we could never have. However, they seem to be making an effort to include many ethnicities, and body types, having a few twinks, asians, hairy, etc. on staff, for those looking for variety. In my experience, I found some of the forward dancers were a little too pushy, and the ones I wanted to meet were very timid. However, my favorite dancer, Frank, turned out to be timid because he spoke little English. Language was not an issue to get a dance. Lesson learned - if you want a particular dancer, don't wait for him to talk to you, just go grab him. I recommend finding Stock Bar's website before visiting, and get to know the dancers (they have live feeds, dancer videos and profiles, for a fee, of course) Pick your favorites, and go on a weekend, when the majority of them perform. Know who you want, and how much you want to spend, and be direct with them. Some will be much more upfront about the cost, and how many songs you've tallied (time goes very quickly during a private dance, and the money will add up quickly too) The experience can be very costly, but worth every penny if you get the right dancer. If you are not into a private dance, you can just relax here and watch the show. Have a few drinks. The bartenders are friendly, and the show is entertaining. ... and each dancer will bare all. read more

Sleazy scammy place. The dancer told me a dance was $20. After persisting that I hire him for sex at a nearby hotel (which I refused), the dancer proceeded to extort $200 from me for the 15 min "dance". When I complained to the owner, the owner explained that they have signs (strategically placed in dark places) starting that a lap dance is 3 min or one song and that it's my job (and not the dancer's) to keep track of the time. Nothing is good about this place. Not sure why there is a cover. Drink prices should be lower with a cover but nope. Outrageous drink prices. Owners sit at the bar micro managing and pissing off the patrons. Most of the strippers are way to aggressive and don't even say hi before they almost drag u to the back for a dance. Bottle service is more than double the cost that u could get at other similar type strip clubs. When u bring some of these concerns to the owners, they just throw u out. I'm convinced most of them were straight because they came out on stage, wiggled around a bit, and that was it. Overall it was pretty boring unless your are enthralled by huge... you know. With so many cool things to do in Montreal I didn't find much about Rue Saint Catherine and that whole area to be very exciting. Went to Stock Bar with group of friends that have been spending New Years Eve together for the last 7 years. By far....this was the best NYE experience that we have had in my opinion. The bar was exquisitely decorated for the occasion, staff was dressed to the hilt including the dancers. The place was warm and inviting, had made reservations for seating, a balloon drop was done at midnight and buffet served soon after. There is no other way to spend NYE than with you best buddies and the hottest men on the continent. Already dreaming of coming back next year.
