I paid the cover and then was confronted by the "doormen" who had their additional $5 fee (each). Why this wasn't included in the cover is beyond me. I paid the first one (didn't see there were two) and the other one (bald headed guy who apparently all the strippers complained about later on and said he is known to be disrespectful) came out of nowhere and called me and my buddy idiots for not knowing their process (he really wanted his $5). I wouldn't recommend coming here simply because the employees are a representation of the strip joint and strong arming costumers is a reflection of management.

And as an adult venue, Solid Gold is just solid, nothing worthy of the local recommendations my group and I received, just a place that is worthy of another bachelor party location. The parking situation here is really strange, there is no parking lot but rather an alley way. And if street parking is filled up, one is apparently not allowed to park in the nearby public lots. Cops were alll over the place that night with one car parked across the street, almost waiting for something to happen. Cover charge here is $5 CAD, which is little compared to the $10-20 of the downtown clubs. The bouncers here are friendly, just be sure to find one that speaks good English since a lot of staff is so French oriented. They may attempt to convince you to do VIP for an extra $10CAD more but it's totally not worth it. The VIP lounge is a more intimate spot to catch dancers doing their thang, but there is little to admire when the place is practically dead (as it was during our experience). Just hang out downstairs where the show is a lot more lively and the music is 10x better. And if VIP is really that necessary, just head up after 1AM, the velvet rope is essentially gone by then. Regarding the dancers, most of them are all over the place in terms of looks and style. There seems to be a type for all colors of the rainbow and each dance will run you about $15CAD each. Beware of getting suckered for drinks since they're almost more expensive than the dances themselves. Definitely try getting here before midnight as the ambiance dies very quickly thereafter.

we are two dancers, this is the first club we went to in Montreal to scope out,at 8:00 on a sunday,…read moreand right away was scammed at the door. was charged a cover fee of $5 and bouncer forced us to tip coat check. a bouncer walked us 10 meters to a table and he forced us to pay for a two person table even though there were no dancers or any customers. when we asked about why we had to pay for a table the bouncer mocked us and asked if we have even been to a club before, knowing we were dancers since we mentioned it at the door. he wouldnt let us sit down until we gave him more money after we just paid our cover to him. went to the bathroom, and was surprised i wasn't charged for it. then i went back to the table and was charged 15$ for a drink we were really disappointed in the service and security, didn't even want to stay so we left. We just felt like we were being taken advantage of, we were also willing to stay for a while and have a few drinks but were actually worried about being charged to tip more or to pay to sit on a chair to go with the table. so we went downtown on st Catherine's and were much happier with service and amount of dancers.

If she's strutting around like she knows she's fire she'll most likely be lazy. If she seems kinky and fun go with her.
