Friday night after he had his bath and my mum collected his " suit" from the pawnbrokers yes that's right " the pawn" I think everybody was poor in the fifties. Anyway the intrerior has not changed much over the years except a paint job every few years, don't get me wrong it's a vey pleasant place to while a away a few hours whilst waiting for either the karaoke or DJ to appear, the bar is well stocked as is the spirits on offer moreover the lounge which is a wee bit small is very comfortable the only down side to the lounge is that the juke box is housed there meaning if you can't play a tune in the bar as the music is not piped through to the bar. That's me bring pedantic the pub is great on a Sunday afternoon when the football is on and as the majority of the people support Celtic it's very atmospheric during a game but everyone is welcome and that makes for a great place to be on a Sunday or a Saturday night The staff are excellent and very attentive and know everyone by name and I noticed that the entire pub is due a major refurbishment , notwithstanding the beer is great as are the clientele once the pub gets done up it may well get five stars

I attended my nephews christening party back in March 2024 in the Millcroft function hall upstairs…read moreand when I arrived I parked in the car park located to the side of the Millcroft which stated, customers only (which I was one). There was no signage that stated you had to pay to park here so that was fine, I was there for less than 2 hours. A few days later I got a parking fine through the door! I was so confused and called up the millCroft and spoke with a manager (who has now left) and she advised me, don't worry, this has happened a few times and that she would deal with it. That manager left a few weeks later and I kept getting letters chasing me for this fine to be paid. I then got a letter from a debt collection agency advising I was to pay £170 asap and there was no way around it! I called up the Millcroft once again and spoke with the new manager Stephen, and he was great! I explained the whole situation to him and he advised me that when you enter any of the premises beside that car park you have to fill out your vehicle details on an iPad (these rules have only been in place less than 1 year). I had no idea and it wasn't clearly stated. He completely understood my point and he got in touch with the parking company immediately and worked his magic and they agreed to remove my parking fine! I was so worried I would have had to pay this, but I was over the moon when Stephen emailed me back within 30 minutes to tell me it was all sorted! I was very impressed with how Stephen dealt with this and how professional and friendly he was, if I ever have any issues I would 100% ask for him and have all faith that he would solve the issue. All in all the christening party was great and the space was great! My family have been using the Millcroft function halls for years! I even had my 21st birthday party there too so I would 100% recommend it!

The lounge is quite small and the Wallace bar a bit larger with a function suite upstairs. the lounge looks ok when you walk in, but the toilets are an absolute joke. The have the usual karaoke at the weekends. They did try live music,but the regulars put paid to that. The bar staff are efficient in their duties, if a bit impersonal. Draught Beers and lagers are limited, but a good choice of bottled drinks and spirits. The wallace bar is a typical west of scotland drinking mans establishment, very few woman go in this bit. The function suite upstairs is stuck in 1992. and has a very bizarre entrance. You have to go through the lounge area and many attending the function end up there by mistake. Not the best pub in the world, but not the worst either. its unpretentious and doesnt claim to be something it isnt. Got taken over by Belhaven breweries recently and they have knocked out any soul it had left.
