They decided that they weren't going to cover the reconstruction surgery that was required to make my face back in working order. I was referred to Mike Orzoff from a friend who said the guy was legit. Not only did Mike Orzoff get me the money for the surgery but also got a bit extra to make sure I could pay my bills while in recovery. The son, not so much. I truly regret not doing better research. My case was not represented as aggressively as it should have been. The insurance company dictated everything, including cutting off my physical therapy early. My lawyer told me in advance not to worry if this happened because he could fight it. When it happened, he did NOTHING to fight for me. My physical therapist did more to fight for me to get the doctor-prescribed therapy for me than my lawyer did. Two separate lawyers reviewed (without knowing settlement) and confirmed it should have been higher. I felt like my lawyer was more interested in settling than aggressively fighting for me. If you're injured, learn from me and do your research before hiring a lawyer.

My case lasted nearly three years and cost approximately $30,000. In the beginning, communication was fairly prompt when I was looking to retain her services. However, as the case progressed, communication and overall client support became increasingly frustrating. One of my biggest concerns was that billing always seemed to take priority. I was charged for nearly every text, email, and phone call, yet it was often difficult to actually speak with her directly. Calls usually had to be scheduled in advance, and I rarely felt I could get timely guidance when I truly needed it. At times, discussions also felt argumentative rather than collaborative, which added additional stress during an already overwhelming process. To be fair, she did help achieve many of the outcomes I was seeking in my case. However, I never felt fully informed or reassured throughout the process. Family court is emotionally and financially exhausting, and I was hoping for an attorney who would help relieve some of that stress by clearly explaining things and making me feel more supported and confident in the process. I was going to hire her for post-decree matters mainly because she already knew the history of my case. However, I also felt there were issues that should have been addressed more aggressively and that the case became more prolonged than necessary.
