Excellent products, fresh and tasty. Please buy here, it is supporting our local farmers and so much better quality that Whole Foods.

Ask the Community - Stillman's Farm

When will the market open again outside of BPM?

Tough question to answer. We plan events outside (such as we sold Christmas trees outside in November and December), we are planning a container planting project in April, BUT, I do not anticipate the market re-opening outside on a regular basis at… Read more

Boston Public Market isn't really a farmers market, but Stillman's Farm stand at BPM is almost a farmers market by itself.

I've had donuts before, and apple cider, and apple donuts - how different could this donut really be. I tried the ones from Trader Joe's and enjoyed them but nothing specials. I will admit I was wrong and unprepared for the magic of these donuts! A hot apple cider donut is so much better than anyone lead on and I'm glad my first experience was from Red Apple Farms! The donut was packed with all the warm spice flavors, the texture with the sugar added to a perfect bite, the warm temperature made them melt in your mouth, and its was just a flawless expirence! During my trip we made a few stops at Res Apple because I couldn't get enough! The Apple cider is of course amazing too, but if you have to pick one thing always get the donuts!

We were on vacation so we said why not, lets try it. Best decision made. The slush is SO REFRESHING. It is not too sweet at all. It doesn't have the strong vinegar taste either. Its like drinking apple sauce but michelin apple sauce.. If you're looking for a quick dessert that's not overly sweet this is perfect. Its not heavy at all so after a big meal its good. I forget what the price was but it wasn't over priced at all.

Browsed the vendors outside which had a variety of food, items, clothing, etc. Had lunch from the trucks. Got a bowl from the Mediterranean place which was not good, compared it to chipotle-style (but in my opinion, chipotle is actually yummier) Also got a falafel wrap which was okay, nothing to write home about. Would probably opt to eat elsewhere or opt for different stalls. The empanadas stall looked more delicious (and more popular)

It was a super cool market with a decent amount of vendors, live music, and a convenient location. I was a little unimpressed by the prices and variety of vendors, a lot of shops felt like they offered the same thing. Still, there were some great knick-knacks and finds! My favorite vendor was Amisha, I got this super gorg kaftan. Bathrooms were a bit difficult to find, so know they are inside the art building. Don't wait too long to go find them because the lines were super long! I could see this being an ok spot to take kids and pets, however, the limited shade might get to them quickly. If too hot, walking 2 mins over to check out the vintage market is the move! Might need to swing back here to try out the food trucks and pick up this vase I didn't follow through on.

It is just so great to have a farmers market in this part of Dorchester!…read more The market is held from 9am-12 noon every Saturday, May though October, in the parking lot at the A.J. Wright plaza in Fields Corner. Get there early if you want the best selection, as they run out of the most popular items pretty early. I love fresh peaches and pears when in season, so I try to be there at 9am on the dot. No frills-- no wandering minstrels or artisan cupcakes, just bins of fresh produce and a few tables set up for weighing and paying. There seem to be two farms stands operating here... a family run farm called Berberian out of Northborough, and a Vietnamese farm stand. I don't think they take credit cards, I have always paid cash. They do take WIC and food stamps, and a large portion of the customers pay with these. The produce is fresh, delicious, and seasonal of course. The corn is amazing. The beets are amazing, with glossy gorgeous greens still attached, $2.50 for a bunch. The leeks are also incredible and so cheap... $1.50 or $2.00 for a bunch that would cost you 6 bucks at Shaws. Fresh herbs of all kinds, squashes, big juicy tomatoes, green beans, carrots, onions, potatoes, chard, collards, etc etc etc... we buy all of our produce here in the summer. Last weekend we went home with 45 pounds of produce, for about $50 dollars. Can't beat it.

There were two produce vendors and a booth in which the Boston Cyclists' Union was tuning up old bikes for free. One vendor had great Asian and other ethnic veggies cheap--for $2, I bought enough Caribbean spinach to feed an army. The other vendor (the guy who told me he'd been coming for 35 years) had his produce on the ground in giant tubs. No frills, but effective. His corn was stunning and I got a nice head of lettuce, some carrots, a peach and a nectarine for short money. Definitely worth a visit if it is local for you and if you are looking for farm fresh at an affordable price. If you want the latest amazing baked goods, jams, jellies, honey and gourmet delicacies galore, this is not the place! This market is located in the Park Street Shopping Center parking lot. I was the first to review it and and I used the address of McDonald's which is the closest business in the shopping center to the market. Listed hours are Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to noon, but the Asian veggie vendor was already closing by 11:20 a.m.--so come early. The acceptance of credit cards may vary depending on staffing; when I was there the person with the card machine had left.

Its on the Harvard science center lawn which has some nice benches and a water/rock garden that's nice to sit by. The quality of produce is amazing and really at its best mid July to August. Early and late in the season (June and October) its a bit sparse so plan on using that time to stock up on local honey, jam, and baked goods if you go then. Insider trading: talk to the farmers. This is my absolute favorite thing about the farmers markets because: 1. Most of them are CHARACTERS and have quirky personalities or sayings (like the guy with the hard core Worchester accent who says "If that's the worst thing that happens to you and me today...we're doin' allllright" at least 2x each day when someone apologizes for dropping his tomato or something) 2.
