We've enjoyed meals at this location in the past, but recently the place has changed hands. Upon arrival we were told another party was in the dining and we were assigned to the common bar area. No tablecloths, no frills, not what I expected! That was just the beginning of disappointments. The first members of our group received their meals immediately and the rest of us waited more than 3/4 of hour before any food arrived. The salad bar was available but what a joke! The salad bar had been grazed prior to our arrival and not replenished. When the food arrived, oh my where do I start. My steak was served cold with a comically small, tasty baked potato that was consumed in three bites. Not one person was completely happy with their meal. Some failed to receive exactly what they ordered, others were surprised their meal didn't live up to expectations stated in the menu, others just disliked the food. There was one served dish that looked and tasted great...the Shrimp Cocktail. The good news is family members were together and able to chat for 2.5 hours during the "dinner from hell", the bad news is more than half the conservations were about the lousy food. We should have walked out when displaced from the dining room. Certainly won't return to the Arbor Manor Steakhouse.

We were expecting very little from this experience but some drinks and maybe a couple bites. The lounge itself is HUGE inside! The people from the desk to the waitstaff were so polite and attentive, always attentive to our needs. The food selection at the buffet was excellent with lots of ethnic options (perhaps because of the World Cup game in the area?). The only improvements I would make are allowing self-service sodas and having a better dessert setup. They had cookies and something else, but neither looked too great. I would be happy to come to this lounge again. Great experience.

OK, anyone remember the meme where they said that airport lounges are the new Cracker Barrel? Yep,…read morethis one made me think that instantly. Only thing edible was the glazed donuts, everything else looked less appealing than a elementary school cafeteria spread. Do grown adults eat like this? Also, you have to go to the bar to ask for a soda, it really should be self-serve like the united lounges with the choose your own adventure Coca Cola soda fountain. It creates an unnecessary bottleneck and is likely a ploy to get tips for free soda or wine. Actually not even sure the wine if free, i'm confident that it's not up to snuff so I did not bother. Not worth the walk unless you are literally at the gate next-door and even then questionable. I have thought it might be worth a walk because the Priority Pass app said that this was award-winning and it took all I had not to guffaw upon entry.

Nyx Lounge if featuring a small menu that will rotate frequently to highlight and promote their products that the create at their Distillery and Vineyards outside of Excelsior Springs - Fence Stile Vineyards and Nyx Distillery. The space is only a few weeks open and they are operating with a soft opening menu while ramping up for a grand opening when their outdoor deck is being constructed. The space is large with bar seating, multiple "picnic" style tables for 4 to 6 people and a comfy pit by the fireplace and soon a patio deck. The owners Shriti and Paul were most welcoming, while spending a lot of time with our small group guiding us through the menu, offering suggestions and giving us a lesson on the their business, their challenges and goals. Their customer service skills and passion for their craft was impressive and addictive. I enjoyed a white wine Sangria, Pineaapple Mimosa and a pour of their Golden Rum. All were wonderful and fairly priced. They have scheduled tasting events and also offer snacks and charcuterie. A new favorite place when you need a bit of sophistication in a casual environment.
