We…read moreare a small strata condo building that was in desperate need of a landscaping facelift, but, like most self-managed stratas, have a small budget to work with. We knew that the scope of the project was going to be minimal or at best a first phase, with more work needed in 2025 and onward. But we were surprised at how poor the planning was and the work performed. First, the at the initial meeting no photos were taken of the property. When we got the quote, weeding wasn't included, yet it was plainly obvious that we had a ton of weeds to remove before going forward with anything else. We asked for 12 new plants to be planted, but we had to guide them on what plants were best for the zones -- they should be more experienced. The plants that were delivered were 1/3 the size of what we were able to easily get on our own at regular price from a local nursery. They included edging in the quote but we were later informed that because of the shallow ground depth, edging would be virtually impossible. However, we had to demand that they remove it from the invoice since they couldn't do the work! Other items: the weeding was botchy and required us to finish part of it less than 2 weeks after OKYW left; we asked them to put mats down to protect the grass from equipment treads, they said the rubber tracks wouldn't dig up the grass, but it did extensively on one side, and; at times the supervisor felt it was more important to sweep debris than work on the landscaping. I could go on. Overall it was a frustrating experience that I recommend others avoid.
