This place is just great, from the moment you walk in til you leave the staff is very friendly and helpful in assisting you find the specific wine or spirit you're looking for. They have a HUGE selection and great prices. You can almost find anything in here! They have all types of wines from Italy, my fave. It's loaded with a wide selection, it's like walking into a Total Wine but more of a mom and pop shop. Great spot to shop at, it's one of my favorites now since I'm new to the area. I know if i go here I will find just what I need no questions asked. I still have to check out their supermarket I'm sure it'll be just as amazing with a wide selection of things. The products they sell are great. Ive being going there for years no problem till recently. Recently ever time I go there and go get some deli meet the guy who cuts the meat always questions me. Asking questions such as "Are you sure you want that much? Its alot" I only get 1-2 lbs of deli meet Ive also been consistently asked "are you sure thats 15 dollars" Its not even solemnly the questions its the rude judgy tone their asking the questions with. Wether its intentionally implied or not its plain rude. read more

Haven't been here in years, I had forgotten what an extensive selection of wine they carried. It was exciting! They have a spacious layout, well lit and large signs that assist you in navigating the store. I can't really comment of the employees as unfortunately none of them greeted me upon entrance or asked me if I needed help while I was there. I did need help but found what I needed on a display rather than along the well categorized walls. However, this won't stop me from coming again. read more

I've been to a few stew wines and spirits and this one was the biggest, cleanest and the best. By far one of the best selections of whiskeys I have seen in a while and also a huge beer selection. The one by my house does not have a beer selection and now I wish they did. They had all the fall beers on display and at a way cheaper price than the distributor by me. read more

Got meself Tworoads Espressway Stout & wanted to try CT wines but nothing called to me (I like a sweeter red, like a ruby port) & some Modelo Cheladas (way cheaper than NY). Happy camper! I have been going to this place for a while and recommend everyone. I will no longer be going back due to the rude manager. I am 25 years old and he took my id away from me claiming I was a minor and then refused to sell to me. They also refused to sell to my mother who was with me because they claimed I was a minor. They tried for force to me sign papers while I was there. This place has gone down hill and it is such a shame. read more

Stew Leonard's you keep impressing me more and more. Just when I think you've hit your peak you blow me out of the water and bring me begging for more! Stew Leonard's Wine & Liquors has an amazing selection of craft beers, local ales and stouts, store and brand wine, plus all kinds of liquor at low prices. The store itself is clean, kept and well run. The cashiers friendly and charming as well as very knowledgeable in their product. All in all this is one of the best market liquor stores in the North East! read more

Welcome to wine and beer heaven. I really enjoy coming here, they have just incredible variety. And while not all their prices are brag-worthy, what they do sell is a few brands of absurdly cheap wine, so if you're not too finicky then come here for the best deal in town. They also have a build-your-own 6 pack deal, a great way to try new beers. read more

A fairly good selection of wine, spirits and both macro & craft beer. Prices are a bit higher than state minimum on nearly all products and a good amount higher on some bourbons which is annoying since they have a "great prices !" banner. The other downside is that a lot of the associates are not especially knowledgeable of their products, a couple of them are. Would be nice if they hired more experts for each of the categories. Sadly, I can better prices and recommendations at Total Wine. read more

Their website is unworkable. When directed to home delivery there's no way to place an order. At this writing the computer system in store won't let you place an order by phone. Instacart will take your order but don't expect that it will be correct. Many annoying errors. When you can place an order by phone they are really good - so 2 stars. read more

I am currently waiting in freezing weather waiting for someone to refill propane. After 10 minutes and going back in they said we had to tell customer service which the clerk failed to mention. Now after telling customer service and calling again no one still. Funny thing is they are advertising propane. Buy somewhere else. read more

My family loves Stew Leonard's and has been shopping there for years but recently my mother went to grab beer from the store which said online that it closed at 9pm. She showed up at 7:58 and was denied entrance to the store. Hate to see a great store treat loyal customers like that read more

I showed up at Stew's to get a fairly expensive bottle of Cognac at 8:05 PM, and was under the impression they were open until 9pm (my mistake, they were open until 8pm). The very elderly security guard was so unbelievably rude to me I was utterly appalled. I am not one to take my offenses up on social media, however this was exceptional. The new yelp app crashes on my phone every time I open it, so I have taken the effort to write this on my computer (shows how unhappy I am with the experience). I have lived in Danbury for quite a few years now and was a frequent shopper at stews. No more. I took my business somewhere else rather than come back another day, and was pleasantly surprised to find a little package store on rt. 37 had better pricing that Stew's on several of my common purchases. Sorry Stew, you will never see me again in your liquor store, and it wasn't even your standard associates that caused it. read more
