Not only that, but I know it's been a Wilton staple for a long while now. How has no one reviewed this yet? Okay, so I'm just gonna say it right now, Ancona's is a goated liquor store. They have lots of local ales, beers, wines, domestic and exotic liquors, and there's even some liquid edibles and even non-alcoholic drinks in this store. It's all well-organized, so it's very easy to get what you want if you know what you're looking for. But even if having a drink at home is not something you do, their liquor selection is quite versatile. I've used the likes of their red wines as well as a bottle of their 124-proof Larceny to incorporate into recipes at home. Aside from that, I do love to grab some of their sakes on occasion, and yes, I have even purchased some of their edibles. In fact, this is actually the only place I know of where I can actually go in store and purchase a liquid edible. The local brewery beers can be a mixed bag, but even though I am not the biggest beer person these days (I tend to gravitate towards tropical cocktails for alcoholic drinks), it tells you exactly what kind of ale it is on the can as well as the alcohol content, so we all know what we're getting. Oh yeah, and the employees are also friendly here too. During my visit tonight, I had really that I had grabbed one of the wrong drinks and told the cashier, and he let me correct my mistake no problem. The prices are a little on the high side, but it's not too expensive either. Long as I live in Connecticut, this will continue to be my liquor store. No questions asked.

I'm typically not into sweeter wines but this wine was well balanced with mild sweetness and fruity notes. If you're into wines/liquor, this is definitely the place to go! Still, if convenience matters more than saving a few extra dollars it gets the job done. All in all, it was an okay experience nothing bad, nothing amazing. I'd stop in again if I were nearby, but I might shop around 1st before making it my regular go-to spot.

You park across the street and it was free so always a good thing. It's our 3rd or 4th visit but this time wasn't as enjoyable as tons of kids running completely unsupervised. Beer and wine were good, service pretty decent, but the kids really put a damper on this visit so we didn't order the wings we wanted. All of our other visits have been fine, some wonderful, today, not so much. One mom actually "lost" her kid and frantically searched for her. Welp, she was by the elevator on the way out. I realize you try to please everyone but staff and parents totally ignored potential harm to equipment and guests. Overall though, great place with good swag.
