The pricing is good. My experience has been that it is best to go earlier in the day when the food is fresh. Like any other buffet type "restaurant" the food tends to get pretty thick if it has been sitting around for a while. There are lots of good options for people looking for gluten free options, but the potential for cross contamination is there if you are very sensitive.l to gluten. They also had 3 fresh soups available and regularly have chilli. The pricing is much better to offerings such as Nature's emporium. I found the price to be at least 25% less. They also have a pretty hefty discount at the end of the day on food if you are so inclined. I did it once, the price was fantastic, but the butter fish was like glue. ;) Overall, a good place to have a healthy and quick easy bite.

Do you love garlic?…read more The taste, the smell, the medicinal benefits! I do (obviously, right?)! I love to cook with it. I love to crush it up and eat it raw when I feel a cold coming on. It's an excellent support for the immune system. The most flavorful and fresh garlic I have found in Ontario is from The Cutting Veg/Organic Farmer Daniel Hoffmann. Years ago I was part of a CSA and enjoyed all kinds of produce Daniel harvested, including his amazing garlic. Fast forward a couple of years later. Now The Cutting Veg focuses on selling its sumptuous, local, organic garlic to individuals and bulk buyers. There are many varieties to choose from: Persian, Sicilian, Korean, Tibetan, Italian, and Russian to name a few! And all are organic. Customers like myself can order online and either have it delivered to your home for a fee - or pick up at one of five locations (in Toronto, Markham, or Sutton). I just received four heaping bags of super fresh and tasty garlic. I can't tell you the difference between buying The Cutting Veg garlic and buying garlic in a grocery store. The latter is typically lifeless, sad, and lacking in aroma and taste. Every one of my family and friends who have tasted Daniel's garlic notes the difference and are amazed by it. On a personal note, my dealings with The Cutting Veg have always been excellent. I find Daniel to be a noble, honest, and hardworking farmer who I am more than happy to support. I am super happy with this harvest of local organic garlic and highly recommend it to others!

I saw the usual sign…read more No shirts No shoes No service It included No Skateboards I asked the manager looking guy and if they ever had people ride up the aisles. He just said "no we just don't allow them. They might knock things off the shelves". How is that possible? They have huge bins on the floor with shelves starting at 4-5 feet off the floor. My 2 problems are 1. Why discriminate against a class of people (mainly youth) who use skateboards as a mode of transportation or recreation. Bulk Barn is a cheap place to get snacks where you can buy something with whatever change you have in your pocket. It's not the 80's anymore. Skateboarding is not a crime. 2. The explanation given had no reason. If he was not the one that implemented the skateboard part then just admit you don't know why. Offer to ask and get back to me on my next visit. Don't lie about shelving that is too high to accidentally knock something off with a skateboard. I've knocked things off shelves when I used to carry a backpack but that's not on the sign. There are lots of items people are allowed to bring in that could have the same effect. Why pick on skateboarders?
