Pushy, obsessive girlfriends drag sweating, shifty-eyed boyfriends around here and coo in an innocent-but-underlyingly-persuasive manner at gigantic engagement rings. You can find everything in here, from traditional gold and antiques, to modern gems by contemporary designers. The walls and ceiling sparkle with the reflected light of a million facets - most people can only afford to browse. Wandering around here is an enjoyable way to spend half an hour. Deciding what you would buy if you found £10,000 or even £100,000 just lying in the street (Ha!). One end of the arcade emerges on Buchanan Street, the other on Argyll Street, so it is a nice alternative link between the two streets, especially if it is raining.

Upstairs (there is a lift on the Buchanan St side) there are offices & even more exclusive shops. Today the top floors were opened for an exhibition which was wonderful & they even opened up the roof so we could wander out & enjoy the panoramic views of Glasgow.

First introduced to Swatch on Time Square, I have to say this is a very very small shop which shows in the limited selection it has on offer. I love the the look of the shop although I never have shown interest in the watches. Since the opening of teh shop I actually got the chance to give Swatch a chance and I like it. The watches and jewellery are very different from what you will find in Argyle arcade. You may eel slightly inconspicuous in the small shop with all eyes on you but the staff are lovely and will give you a chance to look around in peace. You will get a good range of price, from moderately expensive to quite pricey, so there is something to suit all.

You'll find the shop right at the entrance to the centre by the St Enoch subway. (Opposite Folli Follie). It's usually playing some pretty loud music! Although far too small to play host to the whole Swatch range (which is huge) - this store does have quite a good range of watches AND some swatch jewellery (which is really cute). The staff are really friendly and happy to advise and let you try on the watches.

I used to hate coming in here after watching hordes of small children flip the pages of these plastic catalogue while also depositing the contents of their nasal passages upon everything they touched. Booger covered sales literature was placed throughout the room and your likelihood of hitting one of those snot mines was 100%. But Argos stepped up and create a lovely app that lets you order and pay for the thing you want before you even hit the door. Difficult to do since they are all automated. So, no need to don the HazMat suit and put on the blue booties. Get online or pick up the app and leave the infested catalogues to Sneezy, Angry and Dopey over there.

Unlike other delivery stores they don't charge an arm and a leg, they pick a time that's convenient for you and they come on time unike some places that say they'll be there at some point 9 - 9. I mean good grief, how long is a piece of string? I particularly like Argos for electronics, their laptops are good prices as are cameras and they always have the top of the range brands. I recently got myself a very classy Rotary watch from here that came with a three year guarantee and you can't go wrong with a good quality Swiss watch. Argos stockss everything and the staff in this branch are so helpful so you'll never be dissapointed with a visit here!

Located on the ground floor of Buchanan Galleries this store will definitely put a little bit of sparkle into our life. I have a few friends who adore Swarovski and have pieces dotted around their flats, my mum is also a big fan and has a few little crystal teddies to add to her teddy bear collection. I'm not into the ornamental Swarovski so much but I do really like the jewellery, I got a really gorgeous coloured crystal flower ring on holiday a few years ago that's really unusual and people always ask me where I got it from. At the moment they have a stunning set in the window, well, maybe not so much stunning as quirky. The star of this new collection is a little orange goldfish, with pop eyes and luxurious fins adorned with Swarovski crystal, he's even gold plated! The fish is featured on necklaces, rings, bangles, bracelets and earrings and the prices range from £50 - £170. I guess this style might be an aquired taste but if you're a fish lover or just like something a little bit different then it's ideal. Of course, you can also find more classic, subtle pieces that will go with every outfit and be completely timeless. I guess that's why I like Swarovski so much, they have ordinary, classic pieces but they also do off the wall quirky items too. The staff are very helpful in this branch and will be happy to let you try any of the items on.

I love the wacky goldfish collection that Eleanor mentioned and the little charms they sell for their charm bracelets are sickeningly sweet and cutesy (but I love it!) I also adore the super sweet Disney jewellery, especially the Alice in Wonderland themed pieces. I also like the Crystalline home accessories collection and have my eye on the gorgeous cake stand at the very reasonable price of £250!!! I have to admit though that while many of the figurines are cute they are also pretty naff and not to my personal taste. I find the Swarovski covered cross and heart pendants to be dated and tacky but that's just my personal taste. The staff in this branch are really helpful. One of the girls took about 20 different things out of the display cabinets for me to look at and I ended up not buying anything! She took it well though and never made me feel pressured to buy anything. While not everything in the store is to my personal taste I really recommend this Swarovski branch. There is something for every budget and the dazzling shine that comes from all the items makes you feel like you are get good quality for your money.
