This Steven guy is a crook and a sham. Avoid him. He should be put out of business. He did not show up like he said at 9:00am to move my son and his wife in Prince George on the long weekend in August 2021. We had to call him, and he was in bed at 9:20am. His daughter answered the phone. He gave my son and daughter in law the run around and spoke rudely to them and said he'd be there maybe by 3:00pm or 4:00pm. We contacted our realtor whose partner contacted this Steven and pressured him to get the job done. This was on the long weekend so there were no other options to get another moving company or rental truck. The new owners were to move in at 3:00pm so for Steven to not show up till then could not work. He didn't even bother to contact us the morning where he did not show up at 9:00am. He finally made it by 1:00pm with a U-Haul truck, not his own. He sent two of his workers, young teenagers who moved the stuff into the truck. We had moved all the stuff from the house to the carport to speed this up before they arrived as we were short on time. They were supposed to move everything that they were hired for. We had to leave before they were done, because we had a nine hour drive ahead of us to the lower mainland. Mistake! Steven contacted my son the next day on Saturday, and said that they were in Abbotsford on their way to the ferry, as my son and his family were moving to Vancouver Island. So far so good. Until, Steven demanded that my son issue him the last draw of payment by e-transfer. My son was by now on the ferry and on his way to their new home on the Island and asked for Steven to wait until he got there to inspect everything and then he would issue him the last draw. Steven refused and warned that if my son didn't pay him, he'd drop all his stuff off somewhere else and that would be my son's problem Major bully this Steven! My son had no choice as he couldn't trust this crook! We arrived a couple of hours later, and Steven had already left for the ferry to return to Prince George. The problem was that he loaded all the furniture excpept for a few things into the garage when he was hired to move everything into the rooms in the house according to the contract. The realtor noticed that when he learned that we were on our way, he moved really fast to move all into the garage so he could leave before we got there. We then had to move all the furniture ourselves with the help of the realtor on the Island and her husband. When we got there we also noticed that there was water soaked into the couch and bed box frame, and a nice Ikea bookcase was missing. We contacted the new owners of the house in Prince George and learned that he left it standing in the carport. The realtor in Prince George said that he was going to gather the real estate community there to unite their efforts to put this crooked, deceptive, bully out of business. Make sure you read the other bad reports on this guy too. Be forewarned . . . avoid him like the pandemic. The redeeming factor is that all of their stuff arrived. We did most of the work to get the furniture out of the old house and into the new one, and he did deliver it, but anyone who operates like this is an example of very bad business owner who should be forced out of business. **CHRISTMAS EVE NIGHTMARE COME TO LIFE - DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPAY FOR YOUR MOVING NEEDS** I hired Stevens Moving and Delivery on November 24,2021 to move within the same city on December 22. But instead of a happy successful moving experience, all I got from the start of my missed original 12pm expected arrival time until my deposit refund request at 11am on December 24, was an endless list of excuses and lies. Although I consider myself a victim of this company, I am a fortunate one as I did not suffer any financial loss. But I did loose 48hrs of valuable time waiting on commitments made to which I believe Steven Metcalfe knew the entire time he was not going to follow through with. In such an already stressful time of the year I hope no one else falls victim to this man's terrible work ethic and bad business practices. Please have a back up plan if you feel this company is worth risking your moving with. read more

Our experience with Stevens Moving Company was terrible. Steven himself was extremely unprofessional, disorganized, and dishonest. His workers were poorly trained and mostly unprofessional. It took them over 5 days to attempt to pack our 5 bedroom home, and did not finish the job on time. The final day we had possession of our home they were four hours late to finish packing, and abandoned the job entirely before finishing, leaving our house unlocked all night. When we tried to contact Steven to find out where they had all gone, he did not answer his phone, nor did he attempt to contact us and let us know why they had left. The next morning Steven showed up at 8am and acted like nothing was wrong, despite knowing that we were legally required to be out of our home (which we had sold) by 9am. There were unpacked items everywhere, the moving truck half filled. My husband and our real estate agents had been at the house since 6am trying to remove everything by our deadline. We were not fully moved out of the house and into our new one until 2pm that day. The buyer of our home was very upset, understandably. The movers left an entire room full of our possessions behind, which my husband had to retrieve himself. After all this Steven told me several lies to try to shirk his responsiblies and even threatened to take us to court if we did not pay him the full amount of the move (which was nearly double the price that he originally quoted us). After a long and frustrating discussion he agreed to remove a pitiful amount off the price of the move, which barely covered the cost of paying a cleaner to clean the home after the movers left. (We had to hire a cleaner because I was unable to clean it myself due to the movers not having the house empty on time). I would never recommend a person hire this company. We have moved 5 times and never had such a regrettable experience. It cost us over four thousand dollars, which we tried to pay for with a certified cheque, and he made us return it for cash. An absolute all around horrible experience! Sadly, Steven is now claiming that we haven't paid our invoices, despite having handed him the full amount he billed us, in cash. (Which by the way, is on security footage from the parking lot of our financial institution). He is also attempting to extort more money from us, stating we entered into a fictional non disclosure agreement and is attempting to charge us extra money for posting this review. When I first got in touch with Steve he was very quick to respond and kind. When it came down to the packing and moving of my home, he was always late or behind. He explained he had some staffing issues, so I tried to be understanding. Prior to the move he asked for a $200 deposit for the bins, which I would get back once the bins were returned after I unpacked my home. On moving day they were an hour late, left halfway through the move and then came back to finish. Rather than just throwing the last few things into the truck they decided to do two trips, which increased the amount of time the move took. Then when it was all said and done and I returned the bins, I never got my $200 deposit back and he has been ghosting me when I send him screenshots of our conversation. DO NOT DO NOT use this guy!! All the negative posts are true. He showed up 6 hours late with every excuse you could think of. This is the worst, worst move ever experienced, I have moved 8 times in ten years. (first complaint I have every had during a move). He is not a professional. Steven does not have the skills or knowledge to load a container which was pretty straight forward. I had everything packaged and ready to go. He removed fragile secured taped wrapped items and threw the wrapping on top of the item. He wasted soo much space that he crammed everything near the end. He placed dirty heavy gardening items on my leather couches and wooden table legs, and a heavy air conditioner on a light weight rattan sofa. What a disaster every where and damaged many things. I was so appalled by many sores on his face and the blood that ran down the side of his neck to contaminate my personal belongings. I am also concerned that items may be missing as bags that where tied were ripped open. Do not use him as you will jeopardize your move and belongings. read more

Surprised by the reviews i seen that have been negative because our experience was quite the opposite. After another moving company failed to show up I called Stevens and was grateful to have them tell me they could fit me in. The crew arrived and I was impressed by the care that was taken moving my things. I was surprised by how quickly and efficiently the move took them to complete and found the rates very fair. Much less than i was budgeting. I was happy to recommend them to my parents when they moved and I will certainly use them again. I recommend them anytime someone mentions they are planning a move. read more

This guy is a total crook. Does not have proper moving equipment (moving blankets/pads or dollies etc). Rude rough with furniture and staff are not trained. Showed up at 1030 PM to start a move that was 600 miles. It was a total nightmare of a move. Worst part was there was so much damage to our goods and some missing. When we approached him about it he became belligerent. He should NOT be in business. read more
