Researching podiatrist online, Dr. Carollo's reviews were absolutely stellar, so I decided to give her a try, hoping the reviews weren't too good to be true. They absolutely weren't! Dr. Carollo is such a genuinely kind and attentive doctor. She really listened to what I was experiencing with my foot and gave me several non-invasive options to try to heal an inflamed nerve. I'm happy to report after following her recommendation and getting custom orthotics the nerve has finally healed and feels back to normal. And as an added benefit the orthotics have helped some other foot and ankle fatigue I previously experienced after working out. A win-win! She is a fantastic doctor who not only knows her stuff but has the most amazing bedside manner! She gave me her cell number right after surgery so I could call with any problems. I ended up having to go into the office with leg swelling but Dr. Amy wasn't available so I had to see the elder Dr. Kissel saw me. He ended up having the infectious disease nurse practitioner see me. She found a birth mark I've had forever and said that is where I had an infection enter. (No blood work was done. She simply looked at my foot and ankle for about 5 minutes) she then told the elder Dr. Kissel that I should get out of my boot and into a shoe. It had only been about 3 days since my surgery. I'm a teacher and it was August, so I was walking around my room setting it up. She knew nothing about my life nor did she ask. Thankfully I called Dr. Aimee back. I was in pain from the shoe and she had me go back to the boot. When I saw her again, we discussed other treatments for my foot. During another incident, my husband had to see the elder Dr. Kissel and was not satisfied. I told him to see Dr. Aimee and he immediately started feeling better. The course of action Dr. Aimee took was helpful to him. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Aimee!! I hope someday, she can get her own practice. She is an amazing doctor! I STRONGLY do NOT recommend the elder Dr. Kissel NOR the nurse practitioner/ "infectious disease specialist "Lena Antoski, she is too eager to please the elder doctor to care about the patient. Dr. Patouhas treated me and prescribed a natural liquid to paint on for a month. It was clearing right up. On my second visit she prescribed another natural liquid to use as well as the first one. June 30, 2023 - Friday…read more Review #437 Last year in the Fall of 2022, my previous podiatrist from Associated Orthopedics of Detroit left the practice and he wasn't replaced. In March while working 8 hours a day on my feet, the joint pain came back especially painful at night. I was referred by my family Dr. Kavanagh in April to see a new podiatrist named Dr. Anthony Giordano. He has over 25 years experience in the medical field and is accepting new patients. My appointment was on June 14th. We chatted about my foot history, and he read over my medical forms that I completed in advance online. He went over my ex-rays and examined the joints in my toes. His answer and conclusion is that I have Arthritis starting. So I can say thank you to my Dear Mother. :-) Instead of a cortisone shot as in the past 3 years with my health issue he suggested a new type of injection treatment which is 3 weeks apart. It will slow down the wear and tear known as osteoarthritis and help replenish the joint. The fluid injection is called hyaluronic acid to provide a space filler to increase joint mobility reduce joint inflammation and help my big toe and feel better with less stiffness. So on June 14, 2023 I received it and I can say the pain is not as bad and tolerable and 2 more shots to go in 3 weeks. I will "keep it moving" by riding my bike or walking in which the pain does subside. My 2nd shot in the right foot joint area will be on July 11th, So - Oh Thank Heaven for 7-11 Slurpee Day. He informed Me that I will NOT need surgery since the bones are profound and no misalignment as seen on the ex-rays, just unhappy nerves. He has a Wonderful sense of humor which makes me laugh.
