Doctor patching's office is a crook he's all about the money. Do not sign up for the extra $4000.18 month treatment. He's trying to charge your insurance. And you they're trying to send me a bill saying I missed appointment in March. There's scamming people and the your insurance i've been with them for 3 years. Never got the surgery.Always blame me, never was there for me.Being a patient i jumped through all their hoops all they do is lie. Watch your back pay attention. He willl have you come in for visits. And charge your insurance and do nothing for you he'll have you talk to a nutritionist that you have to pay for then have you talk to a psychologist that you had to pay for. Unnecessary surgery with life-long consequence. Removed healthy tissue, then infected, now lopsided. Regret trusting him.

I had an amazing experience with the office and the staff. The front desk Becky and Nadia are so caring, they helped me a lot on my journey to gastric sleeve surgery. Dr. Patching is awesome! The surgery went great and as of today I am weak post surgery and I feel amazing and healing so well. It's very exiting to watch the weight come off and to get my heath back. Thank you Dr. Patching for changing my life read more

If I could give Dr. Patching and the ladies in the office 100 stars, I would. This team really values their patients. Out of luck, I was referred to Dr. Patching from my GP. I have suffered with weight concerns for many years and was ready to explore the idea of Bariatric surgery. Dr. Patching really takes the time prior to surgery to educate his patients and really focus on underlying issues, so you are better prepared for the drastic difference in lifestyle after surgery. They provide coping skills that will ensure you are successful using this new tool. The months prior to the actual surgery are hard work and take focus, but provide great habits for moving forward giving you a much greater chance at success. The surgery itself was amazing, zero complaints. Dr. P came back to the hospital to check in with me the next day, and called my cell phone to make sure I was feeling great when I returned home. He even provided his cell phone number and asked that I never hesitate to call if I ever had anything I was concerned about. I have NEVER experienced anything like the care I have received from this team. They truly treat you like family, care for you as if you're one of their own, and celebrate success right alongside you. I am now (only) 4 months post gastric sleeve surgery, down a total of 111 pounds since starting this process, and I couldn't be happier. They provide a great program for after surgery care that continues to foster your success, which is really unheard of with any other Bariatric facility. I will continue my relationship with Dr. Patching's team for a very long time to come, and I'm positive they will continue to celebrate my success. This practice and people are truly amazing, the process has done remarkable things to my self-confidence and health, and I always felt appreciated and supported by this team 100% of the time. I can't wait to see what I accomplish. If you're thinking about it, just go for a visit with Dr. P. You won't regret it! read more

I started my bariatric surgery journey with Dr patching 9/2017. With lots of amazing support I was eligible for gastric sleeve and had it done 3/5/2018. In 1 year I have lost the weight of a person, and dropped 11 dress sizes to a size 4. Dr Patching is an amazing surgeon. He is supportive, understanding, and very knowledgeable . He and his staff guide you through the process from start to surgery and for life. I have recommended many others to him and my mother has even had surgery with him! I would do it all again in a heart beat. My only regret is not finding this office sooner read more

This was a very unfortunate experience. There were so many things I feel Dr. Patchings should have done to make sure my surgery would have been successful. First I would start by saying he never required me to lose any weight. He had me do a food diary for the first month and just looked at it told me what I should cut back on. Then I would do phone appointments for most of my 6 month appointments which were super nice since I didn't have to miss work. Not once did he do a blood panel on me the whole 6 months. He did a blood panal a week before my surgery but didn't view my results till my pre op appointment which was 2 days before surgery. My sugar levels were high in my urine so I almost wasn't able to get the surgery cus he stated he couldn't do the surgery with it that high. Asked me if I was diabetic which I said no but if he would of did blood work 6 months prior I could of known I was pre diabetic and I could of worked on getting my glucose levels down. Luckily I did another glucose test the day before the surgery and they went down (still high but down enough that he felt comfortable doing the procedure) so he cleared me to get the surgery the next day. I saw that my liver enzymes, where high and mentioned it to him but he brushed it off and said that's common in over weigh people. He never had me do a liver shrinkage diet the week or two prior to my surgery which is super important since obese people have fatty liver which make it enlarged. He had me do a liquids diet only 24 hrs prior to my surgery. So the day of my surgery I went to the Methodist hospital to get the Gastro sleeve procedure. They put me under and put 5 incisions in my stomach. he went inside where all my organs are to try and do the procedure which he couldn't lift my liver up to have a good view of my stomach to preform the Gastro sleeve. My liver was too enlarged for him to physically lift it up to do the Gastro sleeve. I woke up from anesthesia to him talking to me saying he couldn't complete the Gastro sleeve do to my liver being to enlarged. Then he left and I didn't hear a word from him. I called the office the next day really upset since he never even called to check on me as his patient and to actually talk to me about everything that happened. I felt like I was just pushed aside and left with These incisions on my stomach. He still wants to do the surgery down the road but I honestly don't trust a doctor that shows not care about my well being. I feel I was looked at as easy money and he was trying to get me through and get that pay in his pocket. I hope no one ever goes through this and whatever you do make sure you do a liver shrinkage diet prior to this surgery or your setting your self up for failure since this doctor isn't making sure to take all the steps to make sure you are healthy enough and fully ready to get the Gastro sleeve. read more

Dr Patching is the best of the best and I highly recommend him for any laparoscopic surgery. He is the GOAT! In my case I had a Sleeve Gastrectomy and hernia repair. I could not be happier with my results. I have experienced minimal to NO pain, quick healing and never for one minute have I regretted this procedure or choosing Dr Patching. He is highly rated and highly regarded in the medical field for a reason. I also want to mention that his office staff and Mrs. Patching are phenomenal! They are amazing people and so friendly and helpful. Thanks to Mrs Patching I received Dysport and am definitely going back for the micro needling and light therapy to bring my skin to the next level. 10/10 read more

My entire experience with Dr Patching and his office has been life changing. He is so focused on the mental part of weight loss/surgery, that it sets him apart from other physicians. I've had such a wonderful experience with him, I cannot even begin to thank him enough. After the initial group, I understood a lot more. Knowledge is key! If I hadn't have been mentally ready for this, it would not have worked. I believe this is the reason why people re gain their weight after surgery. I believe the people that gave him 1 star, probably weren't doing what they were supposed to. He doesn't pull any punches, and if you are messing up, he will tell you. My life has been so different. I still cant believe it. I am almost 2 years post surgery. I have not gained a single pound pound. I believe my total weight loss has been about 70 lbs. Thank you!! read more

I decided to have bariatric surgery about a year ago, and chose Dr Patching because his program has excellent results. I had my surgery on January 2nd, 2019, and it has completely changed my life. I struggled a little bit after surgery and Dr Patching made sure to keep a close eye on me, making sure I got all the tests and imaging I needed, and connected me with the right specialists. Dr Patching also removed my gall bladder which went bad while I was still recovering from gastric bypass. My struggles post surgery were not typical, and there wasn't a straight, easy answer, but Dr Patching made sure to keep following my case, and made sure I was getting all the care I needed. Since making a full recovery at the beginning of May, I feel better than I have probably my entire adult life. Dr Patching continues to follow my progress, and will continue to do so for years to come. I've now lost 92 pounds of the 115 I want to lose, and I've taken up running and love it. None of this would have happened without Dr Patching's expertise and support. I highly recommend Dr Patching. read more

I cannot say enough about Dr.Patchings and his staff. When you meet him he tells you if he does your surgery then he is your surgeon for life. He has changed my life for the best life ever. I have lost over 80lbs with the sleeve tool he gave me. This process really works if you follow what this man tells you, but please remember it is all up to you. I absolutely love, appreciate, respect and need his and his staff for the rest of my life. This was by far one of. The very best decisions I have ever made for myself. I would like to thank Dr. Patching for his concerns during and after my hiatal hernia surgery. When I first met him he was very personable and explained everything in detail regarding my surgery, if I chose to proceed. I had my surgery last month, one night in the hospital and home to recuperate. Minimal pain and limited scars since it was done laparoscopically. I would refer anyone I know to Dr. Patching! His office staff are awesome too. read more

Dr. Patchings and Brett are an amazing team. They coach you thru the process and never give up on you. They are there for you pre and post surgery and it's a commitment on my part too to stay to the program. Where are all the horrible reviews of Dr Patching all over the internet? There used to be SO MANY. Patching put a lap band on me many years ago. It did not work out so well because everything I ate got stuck so I had it removed. He is condescending and rude. He also left surgery clips in me which show up in x-rays. He removed my gallbladder and I got a gut infection so bad I was hospitalized twice. I would not recommend this surgeon to my worst enemies. read more

I had gastric bypass by Dr Patching over 4 years ago. He is a fantastic surgeon and the procedure went well and I have lost over a hundred pounds! I only gave him 4 stars instead of 5 because there were times that I felt he wasn't seeing my whole picture with weight loss and effort prior to surgery. However I know it was because he truly wants success for his patients that he was a little tough on me. I would see him again and have him do my surgery again for sure! read more

I was referred to Dr. Patchibg by a friend when I mentioned I was thinking about heading to Mexico for the gastric sleeve surgery. From the first call to schedule my consultation I have felt very welcomed and supported during every step of the process. Having just completed my 1 month post-op appointment, I can say that I am very satisfied with the service provided. Knowing that I have support anytime I need it, that my bloodwork will be done regularly to ensure I am getting the right nutrients and everything else so that I can be successful on this journey makes it that much better. I cannot express how grateful I am for this office and everything they have done for me. read more

To add to my previous review from a month ago. After a horrible appointment I found a new amazing dr who actually took the time to look into my issues. After getting an Upper GI they found I had an eroded lap band and a hiatal hernia. If I would have stayed with dr patching who knows when i would have found this out. I am now having surgery to remove my lap band and I couldn't be more confident in my dr. Don't go to this Dr he is horrible!!!! read more

I have an appointment to see my Doctor, Dr. Patching, but everyone in my house has a spring flu-ish illness. You know, low grade fever, headache, nausea... Almost 3 years out and no weight gain. Still see Dr. Patching every 6 months for labs and feedback.

Dr. Patching is AMAZING.. I was referred to another surgeon for WLS initially, Dr. Patching was offering a class on the myths in WLS and invited me to come. As soon as his class was over I knew he was the one I wanted to do this process with, he doesn't sugar coat anything, he holds you accountable, him and his staff are so respectful. I love that he left no gray area in this process for me, he is a GREAT doctor and he truly cares about his patients, now and long term. read more

When my hips went out due to severe osteoarthritis, my orthopedist said he would not do total hip replacement surgery until I lost weight - a LOT of weight. Within a week I was in an introductory group meeting with Dr. Steven Patching, specializing in laparoscopic bariatric surgery. Dr. Patching is very serious about morbid obesity and obesity killing Americans. His true interest is pulling you back from the brink of death with bariatric surgery and giving you a new lease on life. He rejoices in your success and you will too. He started me on a diet of 1500 calories per day. Sure you can cheat, but it's only hurting you. The weight started to come off. Then I dropped down to 1200 calories/day. Eventually, 1000 calories/day. (Exercise is an important part of the diet-do the best you can.) I was then ready for bariatric surgery - a gastric sleeve. Under Dr. Patchings supervision I lost 34 pounds before bariatric surgery, proving I could keep the diet going and lose the weight. 4 months later after surgery I was down to a total loss of 70 pounds. My orthopedist was ready to operate. So, in less than 1 year I lost 70 pounds, had my left hip replaced, and am on track to my ultimate weight goal of 160. Losing weight and getting stronger every day. What's not to like? The surgery was EZ-Peasy. I had no residual stomach pain from the surgery. I was up and moving immediately which I guess not everyone does. Many insurances and Medicare cover the the costs of laparoscopic gastric surgery. The trick is finding a great surgeon. The best thing I ever did was hook up with Dr. Steven Patching! After your surgery you will have a life partner keeping you on the straight and narrow - Dr. Patching. He's there to help you stay on your path with Labs required at regular intervals to make sure your body is doing well. Dr. Patchings office is a positive place. I can't recommend him enough. This is the best thing I ever did in my life! In fact, this surgery saved my life. Remember, though, bariatric surgery is just one of the tools in your weight loss tool belt. It is not the solution unless you actively participate with diet and exercise. read more

I was referred to Doctor Patching due to a ongoing stomach hernia and GERD. My first appointment to see him was within a week which was great. Most specialists you have to wait over a month to get in so I was really impressed by that. Within a month I had my surgery performed. Everything went as smooth as can be and Dr Patching was great at explaining the procedure. His staff was easy to work with and very helpful with getting all the required documentation in order. All in all it was a pretty easy process and the procedure went great. I have nothing but good things to say about Dr Patching and his staff! One month post op update. I'm almost thirty days out from the procedure and everything went well. I have zero heartburn and I was back up and running within a week, granted I had a weight lifting restriction. The staff was a huge help getting all of my time off forms filed and it all went great! read more

Dr. Patching is a miracle worker. I have had a hiatal hernia along with GERD, vomiting and related stomach issues for over 40 years. My previous doctors would say I had a hiatal hernia and give my meds to relieve my symptoms. I took the meds without thought of consequences. The meds were a contributing factor to my kidney disease. When I was referred to Dr. Patching, the first thing he told me was he was pissed at the previous doctors for not suggesting the surgery. He took his time to explain the surgery along with the potential risks, recovery time and tests to do before the procedure. My wife and I were confident in him. I had the surgery on August 23, 2017. My symptoms that I had for 40 years, were gone. The same day as the surgery. Dr. Patching is my hero and I would recommend him to anyone that needs this type of surgery. read more

Dr. Patching is one of the best doctors I have ever met. He is always at the top of his game. If you've had the run around from other doctors and insurance companies when you need treatment, go see him. He took care of my surgery some years ago. After many years of pills, tests, x-rays, etc., he cut out all of this nonsense and finally fixed my Reflux and Gall Bladder with one simple laparoscopic surgery. I have not had any further trouble with GERD since. Also, he and his staff are very easy to speak to. They listen. read more

Professional, compassionate, thorough and brilliant. I did not come to Dr Patching to have him charm me, I came because my primary care doctor told me he was the best in his field. I had been so thoroughly and completely prepared for the bariatric surgery by Dr Patching and his team, that I had no lingering doubts or questions. I met with a shrink, a nutritionist, had an ekg, a chest xray and a heart test before Dr Patching would even consider surgery. I was asked to keep a diary of my food for months so he could see where I needed improvement. I had to exercise and diet to lose weight before the surgery to show a commitment to the process and to be healthier for surgery. I attended support meetings before and after surgery and met with a bariatric nurse to discuss every possible question I might have. I was given a tour of the hospital floor where I would have surgery, recovery and reside after surgery. There was never a moment when I felt that Dr Patching was in the bariatric surgery for the money. Never. His passion for changing lives is evident. His office staff is professional and friendly. Of course, you get what you give. And as far as Dr Patching "yelling" at me, never happened. Maybe if you put on your big girl panties and take the process seriously enough to follow the instructions you get, to achieve YOUR goal, not Dr Patching's, you wouldn't waste time looking for excuses. I had surgery, it was prolonged because the doctor had to deal with adhesions and repair a hernia. I had bariatric surgery immediately afterwards. I was one of a few people who came out of recovery with no pain whatsoever, then or ever. Unusual, yes, unheard of, no. Because of the preparations made by Dr Patching and his team, I knew what to eat, how much I could exercise, what vitamins to take, every detail. I would recommend Dr Patching to anyone who is serious about losing weight and is ready to do their part to reach that goal. He is the best! read more

My experience with Dr.Pathcings office has been amazing. The difference between his office and other bariatric places is that there is long term care. You don't just have the surgery and then never see the dr again. He follows and cares you for a year after surgery and his nurse Kate at sutter health has a post op and support group class that is a huge help. Dr Patching is tough and straight to the point and some people can't handle it but he's exactly what I needed he made be accountable for my actions. It wasn't a hi and then a approval I had to work for my approval which prepared me for my vsg sleeve surgery. I am 2 months out and my life has already changed for the better. I am truely and forever grateful read more

I had sleeve surgery in Nov 2013. I switched from a horrible Doctor (Afshin Eslami: do yourself a flavor and avoid him all together cause he's all about $$$; 6 or more surgeries a day?) I too found Dr. Patching "rough around the edges" I just chalked it up to doctors being doctors (thinking that they're Gods)? What I have realized is I don't have to accept poor treatment from ANYONE in the medical community!! I have lost the weight and in doing so I've found my self worth and it's amazing ;) In addition to dreading going to see Dr. Patching, his office admin person (I guess that's what her job is?) is rude and extremely FAKE!! She tries to come off as sugary sweet; trust me when I say that is false. She's rude, passive aggressive and elitist (maybe it's a prerequisite to work in that office?) lmao Someone said something about the front office staff, who seemingly puts up with bs I can't even deal with They have a high turnover, which makes sense when you deal with these kind of people! I will say that this fact affects everything because I went in for an appointment in Nov, they happened to be "faxing" at the time I was to pay my $15 copay and she said, "oh, just pay next time" cause we can't run your card when we're faxing... huh? Okay, the doctor said come back in 4 months. My brother was in the ICU and I couldn't make that next appt. I called yesterday (5/25/17), which is when I got yelled at (lol). They threatened to send me to collections for $15 WTF? I said, I'm just going off of what your staff said. Her response was, "you could've saved us money from sending you statements!" I said, "you could've saved money by using some of Dr. Patching's vacation money to purchase an independent credit card machine" hell, they could just use an iPhone with an attachment! Special! Also, what office today can't run your credit card when they are sending/receiving a fax? Welcome to the dark ages! Christy was adamant that this is standard practice? If you'd like to yelled at ("can you let me talk, just listen to me, God.") give her a call and ask her about it. After her yelling I decided, I'm done. I said how can I get a copy of my records, I'm going to find a different doctor, she didn't bat an eye and said, "just have your new doctor request your records." It's all about the money for this practice. That and Dr. Patching's numbers; he's very concerned with his percentages and outcomes. If you're not losing enough or your program slows for any reason, he's likely going to be harsh on you cause if you're not successful, his numbers change. Hope this helps! read more

Highly recommend doctor Patching! He actually cares about his patients and will listen and answer all your questions! Both Nadia and Kristie are so nice as well! My surgery went great with no complications! He definitely knows what he's doing and actually follows up well!! Won't go wrong choosing his practice! read more

Combative personality, rushed visit, discouraged any questions, disrespectful... I have no trust in this doctor.

If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck, it is Dr. Patching. I wouldnt let this guy work on my dog. His precious success statistics are more important to him than his patients. Forward and straight to the point, yes. But he is not truthful in his approach to paitients.
