They have been my dentist since I was a kid. Great friendly staff and great service. The new text messages to appointment feature is great.

Unethical billing practices!…read more I received treatment in February and insurance coverage was all satisfied and my out of pocket was paid and good to go. They called 6 months later stating there was an issue with the coverage and now I owe an additional 500$ out of pocket and it will shortly go to collections due to the timeframe. Save the trouble and don't go here. I should've paid more attention to similar reviews stating the same tactics. Please avoid this place if you can.

$2,000 Unexpected Bills and Lack of Transparency…read more Avoid this clinic. There are numerous reports of patients facing unexpected bills, even after the office made it seem that everything was resolved with insurance and payment. In April, I had my teeth extracted by Dr. Isabelle DeMatteis. This clinic was everything I did not expect as a patient. As a patient, you trust that the office will care for you, and this includes making sure you can afford the treatment. I read the reviews and felt hesitant, but I decided to trust the clinic because many times I asked about my treatment, and they made me believe it could not cost more than the amount indicated, as they were handling the insurance. Now, I completely regret not listening to other patients. From what I see in reviews, the clinic has a pattern of sending unexpected bills after treatment has already been completed, which leads me to believe that the office has little interest in giving patients information on how to get an accurate quote from insurance regarding the cost of treatment. I only confirmed my appointment after receiving the treatment plan, trusting that the office had checked with my insurance as I was told. At no point--neither in person nor via message--was I informed that the final cost could be so drastically different, or that I might need another prior authorization. At no time was I advised to check with my insurance or request a prior authorization myself. I ended up being charged over $2,000 for two wisdom tooth extractions. I had this treatment because of pain, and I feel shocked and misled--I believed I was being properly cared for, and now I feel deceived. Where are Dr. Paul Calat and Dr. Michele? It seems that the dentists at this clinic are not at all concerned with the many negative reviews from patients who felt misled by the office. Clear communication and guidance regarding insurance and costs would go a long way toward preventing unnecessary stress. I am taking steps to understand my rights as a patient. If you feel the same way, I encourage you to do the same. And if you haven't become a patient yet, find another office--protect your health and avoid unnecessary stress.

I scheduled a root canal consultation and 3D scan over the phone, provided my insurance information, and was asked to arrive 20 minutes early to discuss details. Upon arrival, the front desk staff were visibly distracted -- chatting and laughing among themselves -- and barely acknowledged me. I had to stand up multiple times to ensure I hadn't been forgotten. No one communicated an estimated wait time, and after 40 minutes, someone finally brought me to the back. Dr. Higgins briefly examined my mouth and recommended a 3D scan. I asked about the cost before proceeding -- both he and the assisting nurse failed to answer. After the scan, I was placed in a treatment room where a staff member, Sandy, presented me with a tablet to sign for nearly $2,000 in charges -- without Dr. Higgins having reviewed the scan with me or discussed any treatment plan. When I expressed concern and asked to speak with the doctor, Sandy appeared annoyed but left to retrieve him -- only to return alone and hand me the tablet to sign again. I refused to sign. Dr. Higgins eventually came in. I asked to review the scan together and hear his clinical assessment. He was unable to pull up the scan on the in-room computer where the root canal would've taken place and had to seat me in an outside chair to view it. The actual consultation lasted approximately five minutes. When I asked about next steps -- specifically the cost of a crown, which I learned would be performed by a separate dentist, Dr. Paek -- Sandy initially told me she couldn't provide that figure because it wasn't currently on my dental plan. Only after I pushed back did she produce a total: nearly $4,000. I asked to speak directly with Dr. Paek to discuss the crown before making any decisions. Sandy assured me I could, and had a nurse escort me to the front desk. There, three staff members sat in front of their computers staring at the schedule screen -- no movement, no eye contact, no acknowledgment as I approached and spoke to them. I paid the $385 I was told covered both the consultation and the 3D scan, and was informed the scan would be shared with me digitally. When I asked about speaking with Dr. Paek, I was told he was with a patient. I said I was happy to wait, and one of the front desk assistants -- without looking up -- told me flatly that he would be busy for an hour and a half. I left without having spoken with him. About an hour after leaving, I received an email stating the office had "graciously waived" the $250 3D scan fee -- implying I still owed it. When I returned to clarify, I learned that the $385 is a standard consultation fee alone for Dr Higgins, and the $250 is a separate, additional charge for the scan -- the opposite of what I had been told at checkout and I could've had this cost before any consultation and scan was done, and would've chosen not to do it. The lack of upfront cost transparency, the pressure to sign financial agreements before any clinical discussion had taken place, and the consistently dismissive attitude toward a patient's reasonable questions were deeply concerning. At every touchpoint -- from the front desk, to the treatment room, to checkout -- staff showed little regard for clear communication or basic courtesy. This office does not appear to prioritize patient trust or experience. I do not recommend it.

I was recomended by my hygienist to have it removed before cavities begin to form due to the difficulty of brushing the area so I did some research and looked for referrals from friends. I previously removed a wisdom tooth a few years ago but put off removing the other three as I didn't want to be stuck eating soft foods for another three weeks again. I scheduled a consultation with Dr. Dolman and that was when I knew Dr. Dolman was extremely knowledgeable and I could trust him with this procedure. Dr. Dolman is not pushy like a number of doctors are. Rather, he explains what would happen if you don't remove certain teeth and what would happen if you do. His explanations were clear and helped me prepare mentally for what I was about to go through. Doing any sort of dental work is usually pretty scary and pulling wisdom teeth is one of the scariest procedures for me due to the fears of dry sockets and things going wrong. However, Dr. Dolman is very experienced and goes above and beyond to make sure that his patients are safe, comfortable, and at ease before, during and after the procedure. Did I mention that during the procedure, I didn't feel a thing and was very relaxed? I didn't think that could be possible in a situation where someone would be yanking your teeth. What makes Dr. Dolman stand out is the experience post operation. I was provided a printout of what to expect for the next few weeks during recovery, what to eat and how often to change gauzes. In addition, Dr. Dolman gave me his number so I could text and call him if I had issues. He followed up periodically to check in and see how I was doing and answered questions I had very patiently. Dr. Dolman truly cares for his patients and I highly recommend everyone who needs oral surgery go to him. He is the best and I recommend all my friends to see him.
