Then I would come out with a long expensive list of recommended procedures. Naturally that didn't incentivize me to schedule lol. I found Dr Mulcahy through the desire for change and I am EXTREMELY thankful I did! I had a rather large filling fall out & that is exactly what he fixed, rather expertly I might add! I felt nothing with the numbing shot, not even a pinch. There was some discomfort during the procedure which was caused by the prior dentist getting way too close to the nerve. He put a barrier between the nerve & the filling to try and help with sensitivity. I am giving it a few weeks to see if a root canal will be needed (again since the prior work had been done too close to the nerve). Regardless I am scheduling all future appointments here!! I highly recommend you do the same! Dr Mulcahy & the staff were PHENOMENAL!!

First I had to pay a new patient deposit. Never had to do this for any of my previous dentists. I should have been given a new customer deposit instead for the service I was about to receive. During my initial appointment I was told that i needed quite a bit of work totaling $6220. Basically was told a few other things i needed not included in this price as well. The first item i did need done but the rest seemed way more than my last dentist had recommended. Scare tactics that made me angry. I prepaid for the first service/appointment ($2075) in full before any work had been done. After the visit and once my insurance finally paid their portion I asked to be reimbursed what was remaining ($875). Had to call several times to get this rectified to only be told I did not know how my dental insurance worked. Fast forward to my wife and daughter going for cleanings. Never got a bill only a late payment notice saying we owed for these visits in full. I had my insurance statement showing they had paid their part several months before I received the late notice. Conover lost the payment somehow. Had to go in their office in person because over the phone they could not understand what I was telling them. Went in and paid my part and told them they needed to rebill my insurance. Got another late payment notice for this same bill stating if not taken care of it could go to collections. They could not even transfer our dental records to our new dentist correctly. My new dentist visit revealed I did not in fact need all the above work. The work i did have at Conover still hurts as well. But hey they give you some cool socks. I would look elsewhere for dental care. This place does not treat you like a customer only like a bank account.

Because apparently, dental pain has a 30-day waiting period. So on a Sunday, we ended up at another emergency hospital and finally had the tooth extracted. Six visits. One month. Zero solutions. I'll admit it. So I was not excited to have this procedure done. For the most part they did a good job. I wished I could have had something for the pain (as I said, I'm a wimp) but nothing. It took 2 visits to clear everything up as well. He talked about putting a crown on it, but never gave me specifics... Said we'd talk about it when I came in to get more work done. Um excuse me? I'm not planning on getting anymore work done! I have a calcium deficiency that acts up sometimes and makes my teeth weak in spots, but that passes and clears up. But he wanted to do "preventative" work on my teeth. No thank you. You can drill when there's a reason to drill. Thats my biggest problem. Is it so hard to find a dentist that doesn't want to just drill into your teeth?!

Dr. Steinmetz (and Sheri, who has been the Practice Manager for 28 years) are incredible and they're literally 2 minutes from my home and place of business. I was driving 40 minutes each way (what was I thinking) until Dr. Steinmetz popped into my business one day. Our entire family has switched over to using him. They treat adolescents and adults. They also do braces/invisalign. My significant other is undergoing ortho treatment and is seen every two weeks. I personally do not have dental insurance and know there are others out there in the same boat. They have a plan for $249, that includes 2 exams, 2 cleanings and all xrays. Just wanted to share my experience in case anyone is looking to make a change or establish care. They're very professional, efficient, affordable and conveniently located.
