John "Red" Milner had been my insurance agent for nearly 15yrs., and after being involved in an…read moreautomotive accident earlier this month (January 2024), John abruptly cancelled my auto insurance policy and verbally pressured my elderly family member to sign a Release of Liability without their full-understanding of the documents purpose by telling them that their umbrella policy was on Hold until the document was signed & received. From the moment I contacted John to let him know of the accident, John took the liberty to make me feel guilty and said, "Oh god, What did you do now?". John's unprofessionalism and lack of empathy shocked me and quite frankly, from that moment forward, I had grown concerned that my policy would be in jeopardy because of John's negative opinion & assumption that I was to blame for the accident. Truth be told, it takes a lot for me to write reviews because of the impact they can have on a business, but John "Red" Milner is not an insurance agent I would recommend to anyone.

Clearly the previous review must be from a long time friend that knows john in a personal setting…read morerather than a professional setting. I wanted to do business with John, "Red", Milner because he was in the same town where I bought my new home. However, it turned out he was extremely discourteous, rude and impatient when I inquired about a "Validation Code" for signing the docusign documents that were sent to me AFTER I had just paid for a full years worth of Landlord insurance to him. I called John right back after receiving an email addressed to a different first name than my own. And to find out what the validation code was so I could get in to sign the docusign paperwork for the insurance I had literally just paid for. John told me I'd have to make a phone call to get the code or he could send me an email (which is not secure). When I inquired if he could get me the validation code he became instantly impatient, dismissive and aggressively rude. Not accustomed to such uncaring customer service I asked him to refund my money since he doesn't have a secure way for me to sign paperwork. He advised me to send a request by email. I did. Feeling increasingly uncomfortable with the rude way I was treated I called him back after 30 minutes to confirm he received the email. He was again rude and disrespectful. I can't imagine what it's like to actually need real help from this unprofessional agent. I don't typically write reviews because let's face it...who has time for that....but, John was so unbelievably over the top discourteous that I will take time out to warn people away. I called another insurance company and had another similar quote within 20 minutes time. John did finally refund my money...thank goodness. Perhaps he was just having a really bad day but I'm scarred and will never call Farmers again.

He also helped me to put in a claim for a theft which I did not know I could file for. It was quick and painless and I received my check immediately. We lost our home and all our possessions in the 2017 Tubbs fire but escaped with our lives. We had been insured with Keith for many years but suddenly realized that who we had as an agent and the company that insured us were going to be of critical importance. We evacuated from the fire in the wee hours of the morning and finally landed at a hotel. That night, out of the blue, my cell phone rang and it was Keith calling us at 8pm. We didn't know yet whether or not we had lost our house but he took the initiative to reach out to us knowing that our home was at risk. He explained in simple language that we had good coverage, gave us his personal cell phone number, and told us to call him directly if we needed anything. I can't explain the sense of relief I had when we received that call of support and reassurance, but I do remember my tears of gratitude when I hung up the phone. The next day we were notified that our home was gone. Keith helped us every step of the way through a long journey that has culminated in the completion of rebuilding a beautiful new home on our property. I would highly recommend him and his organization to anyone who is looking for honesty and integrity in an insurance agent.

When my mom passed I was distraught and got in a 4 mile an hour fender bender...not only did they total my bought brand new car but i got a check for a fraction of the amount the car was worth. I was not aware I could insist on my car being fixed or the real worth of the car. She took advantage of my ignorance. I get it it's a business. This is BAD business...I do NOT recommend this office at all. I will likely never have a good car again I spent everything on that one and am 100% disabled so fixed income. She could afford to fix my car it wasn't even that bad but no took complete advantage of a disabled, grieving, never handled anything without her husband new to life person. Not cool.
