I'm a current client of Steve's and I wanted to write quickly with just a few points I've noticed so far: 1. Like others have said, Steve and his son Zach are really nice people, but I'm also impressed so far at what good lawyers they are. One reviewer said that he felt "ponied off" to Zach, but myself I felt very well cared for when I got to work with Zach. I called the office in tears and horrified when I got a call from the police, and Zach spent an entire hour talking to me. Other lawyers I had called didn't have time for that. Zach is young but he is a very smart attorney! He went to one hearing with me and he was totally prepared and responded to the judge quickly and convincingly. Before the hearing he called me and spent another hour going over what I should expect, what to wear, where to meet, and even called me back to remind me not to bring in my cell phone. After a night of celebrating, my date and I had an argument during a cab ride and I threw his glasses out the car window. After being released from jail, I was informed it could take up to (10) days to leave the state (I was visiting from Omaha). Met this 'typical' Boulder lawyer for a consult. Immediate turn-off. You want a scum bag attorney, Steven is your guy -- typical greedy arrogant Boulder attorney that has no intent of doing what's best for his clients. He does what's best for his personal bank account. Wouldn't trust this guy farther than I could throw him. Like most in Boulder, he'll quote you an amount, and another amount on top if it goes to trial. Most of the typical Boulder attorneys have no intention of working for you, in fact they won't even provide updates. They want it to go to trial so they can make more money off you while they watch you hang due to their inaction. Other -- the crappy dishonest unethical lawyers in Boulder talk to each and use each other's material when it comes to screwing clients over for their own benefit. Steven told me as much in terms of who he got some pointers from. Simply don't look for legal representation in Boulder because ethical ones are far and few between, and the ones that do exist have too high of a case load to take on your case 95% of the time. read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Two seperate occasions raised the "flat fee" over $1000. The second time was within 18 hours of my scheduled hearing and refused to show up unless I agreed to pay. Even after I was cornered into being willing to pay he never showed up. I called several occasions to try and come to an understanding but was kicked to the curb because they had already received payment. I was given little to no respect aside from the fake sincerity when we met face to face. Louth Law accepted payment and then gave minimal attention to my case.I also paid a higher premium for Steve's professional background and was ponied off to his son for one of his first few cases and was unable to contest due to Steve's snakish wording. I DO NOT recommend this lawyer by any means. I was left feeling helpless and exploited. read more

I became aware of Steve because represented a close friend of mine who had been wrapped up in a domestic dispute/DV. the case was complicated by three separate arrests, the last two of which had zero merit. The original charges bad some to little merit, but serious consequences.
