Last month I was in College Station visiting my parents. I don't who why I started having a bad pain in my shoulder. Maybe because of the bed. My mom asked me to see her chiropractor. Dr. Ted is a great help when you need are in pain and need chiropractic care. Since I was having the pain for more than 3 days I decided to give Stephenson Chiropractic a try. I scheduled an appointment and visited the office. After being checked in, the consultation went well. The pain in my shoulder was significantly reduced after my adjustment and I was able to stretches my body a little bit and bring my hands up. The pain was gone completely after my second adjustment. I am planning to have my third adjustment before my trip to make sure the pain will not come back. I think chiropractic was a good choice to help my shoulder progress and rehab fully. I called to set up an appointment to get an adjustment done. I told the receptionist, who is very sweet, that's what I wanted. No mention that I would have to have an entirely separate appointment done for that after having an assessment appointment done first where they make you take XRays and put you on a stem machine for 5 mins. Walked out paying my $50 copay only to be told I had to come back the following day to get my results and at that time I can get an X-ray done if I choose and pay ANOTHER $50 copay. I came back to get my results and was told I needed a series of appointments starting with 3 times per week! WHAT!!!!!! I'm a healthy individual, young and I'm in no way in major pain. Why in the world would I need this extensive plan? They should have told me from the beginning they wouldn't do an adjustment first visit. They are milking my insurance for all they are worth. I left and will not return. They are shady! And to top it off the "adjustment" he gave me was not an adjustment at all! He barely did anything and just used this little gun thing to tap my back and that's it! Then put me on a stem machine again and called it a day! $100 wasted!!!! Left and went to The Joint off Wellborn and saw Dr. Shaw and he actually performed an adjustment!!! read more

I went to Stephenson for an adjustment last week. I was told I would get adjusted that day. They said they normally don't but because of how I've been to them many times, I should be fine. I went to the room where there was an adjustment table and was told I was going to have some more tests done. At the time I already had an x-ray and another test done. All I wanted was to have my neck, back, and hips adjusted. They said they did adjust me on the table but they didn't. Now they won't give me my money back, since it was extra for an adjustment that day. The doctor actually argued with me and said I don't know anything and no one can adjust me in one day. My old chiropractor, in a completely different state, is livid at them. And I'm still not adjusted. DO NOT GO HERE! I'm going to have to wait until Christmas until I go back home to get adjusted. read more

I do not recommend this place. I went here for a possible bulging (herniated) disc treatment, and after two appointments where they did NOTHING to physically treat the issue (no proper adjustments or alignments), they told me I had a major spine disease. They created a large packet of my "results" and sat me in a room to explain what their plan for treatment was. They claimed this was a severe problem and treatment would cost 6,000 dollars. While crying in the office due to them severely scaring me (I am a college student so I was dealing with this entirely on my own), they continued explaining how my health is basically deterioriating and I must act quick to manage my problem. I took my packet and left after I felt very pressured to sign this prepaid form. I went to a spine specialist and found the actual problem and was properly treated in a matter of two weeks. WOULD NOT recommend this place. I felt scared, trapped, and not properly treated at all. read more

I went to them because I had pain in my hamstring and lower back area. They began by taking x-rays and sending me home to come back a few days later for the results. When I went into that appointment they placed me in the doctors office and told me the doctor would be right in. About 45 minutes later he finally entered with my X-rays. Then I was told that I had sever irreversible disk damage in 5 places from my neck to my tail bone. His recommended treatment was 6 MONTHS of treatment with me coming 4 times a week for the first 3 months 3 times a week for the next month then 2 per week and then in the last month 1 time per week. I instantly thought that if it was this bad I might want to consider back surgery. However as soon as I mentioned it he discounted the total cost of the treatment from around 5000 to 2500. I left with the quote and the X-rays as I was questioning the diagnosis so I had another chiropractor look at the x-rays along with an orthopedic surgeon. They both said that there was nothing wrong with my back and it was actually just a tight hamstring. I do not know if it was a mistake by Stephenson chiropractic or if they were using scare tactics to make me spend thousands. Either way I feel like it was the worst experience I've ever had at any kind of medical doctor. I would strongly recommend not going here. read more

I am not going back here. I often felt that my actual adjustments were rushed and appointments took a long time because they were filled with other therapy or tests that I did not see any results from. On top of all of that, I felt like the only thing they really cared about was my money. They kept trying to get me to do a payment plan or pay large amounts of money up front. A couple of years ago steadily escalating back pain became a hindrance in my work, which is physically active. My family doctor recommended an orthopedic specialist, but he had no treatment ideas. Next I saw a neurologist, and he didn't have any recommendations either. I decided to try chiropractic for the first time. Dr. Ted and Dr. Alicia were warm and welcoming, as was their whole staff. They got me in quickly and did a full diagnostic workup. Dr. Ted should be a professor, as he's a very talented teacher in helping you to understand what's wrong and how to fix it. I felt better than I'd felt in several years after the first treatment. Those roller tables are heavenly. After several more I was limber and pain free again. Recently I had an auto accident that dislocated a rib and caused whiplash to my neck. He fixed me up and worked with me on billing the other driver's insurance. I'd recommend them to anyone. read more
