Involved over-the-phone intake, then an in-person interview to provide context & hIstory. The tests themselves were a 3-4 hour affair, involving all manner of things, designed to test recall, association, sequencing, and various other cognitive capabilities. After the test, I returned for a followup to review the initiaL results & discuss any next steps. Throughout this, the staff were excellent & helpful, and Dr. Centi was warm, understanding, and answered all of my questions. The results of the testing were helpful, and give me an updated understanding of myself. Highly recommended if you are in need of cognitive testing, and I'm considering following up with behavioral therapy.

I went to see Ms. Monahon about four years ago for problems associated with anxiety. She was…read moresomewhat helpful while I had her as a therapist. The next year I was offered a job that required security clearance. As part of the process, a government agent goes to any mental health professionals you have seen and asks them the question "Does the person under investigation have a condition that could impair his or her judgment, reliability or ability to properly safeguard classified national security information?" Psychiatrists and therapists generally answer "no" to this question unless you have serious mental problems. Since I do not, all of my other past therapists and psychiatrists answered "no". Ms. Monahon refused to meet with me to discuss the situation before the agent visited with her and then answered "yes" to the question. She even billed me for her time with the federal agent. Her reasoning was that I was addicted to prescription medication. I was prescribed benzodiazepines, a commonly prescribed medication for anxiety. Since they are addictive, basically everyone who is prescribed them long-term is technically addicted through no fault of their own. I'm not sure what Ms. Monahon's intentions were, although I assume malice played a part for some reason. As a consequence of Ms. Monahon's actions, the job offer was withdrawn, my security clearance was never granted, I will probably never be able to work for the military, and I have much less trust in therapists. I do not recommend her.
