His office went silent for months. I had to nag to get my taxes finished and had to continually reach out to find out when they were done. We finally received our completed taxes just ahead of the extended deadline in 2020. We filled out all the paperwork as we were instructed and mailed it and checks to the IRS. A few months ago (Oct 2021), we started getting letters from the IRS informing us that we owe them MORE money for the same years in question for 5329 (IRA) issues. I contacted Chris's office immediately. His assistant requested some IRS paperwork from me which I provided that very day. Chris himself called me back about a week later. I explained the situation, and he said he was willing to look into it to see if he'd made a mistake. He then said that he needed to send me some paperwork so he could call the IRS on my behalf. It's been 2 months since those emails and phone calls, and I've heard nothing from either of them. I paid a non-trivial sum of money to have my taxes done by Chris. If a mistake was made, I expect it to be taken seriously - especially given the quantities of money involved here! I'll not be using this CPA again.

Within our 1-hour appointment, he not only successfully amended my 2021 return and completed my 2022 return, he also broke down the reason for my IRS letter and how to fix it. All-in-all, I spent a couple of hundred dollars less than I've spent at H&R Block and others, ended up with better service and walked away with a much tighter understanding of the tax process.

After receiving several letters from lawyers, I decided to call a few and see what my options were and which prices were the best. Of the maybe 4-5 places I called, this firm was the most friendly and personable. Definitely plus that they also had the cheapest price. A couple days after gathering quotes I decided that I would go with Cotten Law Firm. I was able to go online and look up my case number and pay my fees all at once. Once I paid and electronically signed to allow Mr. Cotten to represent me, I was e-mailed a case number for the firm and a receipt. The day before my court date I received an e-mail and phone call from the firm to get more of my personal information to pull my driving record. That was also a pleasant and friendly interaction as well. I was told that Mr. Cotten would e-mail me the results the next day after going to court on my behalf. Around 1:30 on the day of my court date I received an e-mail from Mr. Cotten himself with the results. My ticket was reduced to an "Improper Equipment" charge! My insurance won't be affected and neither will my driving record. Such a relief! Since I paid upfront he also handled the court costs and fines as well. I didn't have to go to court or even to the office at all. There's also an option to pay for his services upfront and then you can handle your court costs within 30 or so days of your court date if you can't afford it all at once, which is great. I would highly recommend this firm and will keep the information in case I need their services in the future. Although I hope I never will again...

We were usually called in annually to review our portfolio and adjust for current conditions. Of course our profits in growth investments fluctuated, that's the nature of the beast. John has always given us trustworthy advice and managed our account to our satisfaction and benefit; he is available any time during the year if I have questions or want to come in and make changes. Linda and Amber in the office are similarly helpful, always ready to assist me if I need anything. I'm a fan!
