Hammernik and Associates always manages to make the tax experience less painful. When I was relocated to Wisconsin, Hammernik & Associates managed to work their way through the relocation paperwork and tax forms from two different states without batting an eye. In addition, they answered all my questions and showed me exactly what they had done and how they arrived at the data. Lately, because my tax forms have been less complex, I've been assigned different tax people nearly every time. In all but two instances, it didn't matter to me. The first time I was assigned a person who had zero people skills and even less personality and he acted offended when I wanted him to explain what he had done. The next time, the person whose name was on the signed form, although pleasant enough, wasn't the person who actually completed the form and couldn't really answer my questions. This, even when I had an appointment several days in advance so as to give the person time to review the form and be ready for my questions. I struggled between three and four stars, but even in the worst situations, they've managed to come through. And, they are very reasonably priced for the the services they offer; so four stars it is. I've since found a local accountant, but not one that compares to the quality here. Mr Hammernik, however, is a 5-star CPA all by himself. If you're lucky enough to deal with him on your tax issues, you'll know what I mean.
