This is a cute little shop! They sell the floral arrangements and items that you might want to accompany them as well. The unfortunate thing for us is that they were nearly out of flowers, as I might recall, they were mostly white flowers. There was something going on and the flowers were spoken for here and at other floral shops in Foley. This isn't a mark against them specifically. We had driven from Los Angeles, CA and didn't plan ahead to buy an arrangement. We came here and described what we wanted and left the "magic" in the hands of our designer. She worked diligently with us especially in the statement for the card and she got the entire Bible verse and names squished in there! Kudos! The arrangement came as we had agreed upon. I would have to say that even as beautiful as it was, I was hoping it was going to have a few more flowers in it only because of the price we paid for it! I believe the flowers arrived on time because they were nicely set up among all the other flowers when we arrived. Nick did an absolutely beautiful job on the bouquet and boutonnières for my wedding in Gulf Shores. I showed him a photo of the look I was going for and he knocked it out of the ballpark. Called her 11:00 Alabama time and my friend received them by the end of day I live in another state and she texted me of pic of the flowers. I sent flowers to my brothers in law as a memorial for his mother that past away. I have lived being a military wife all over the United States and out and never done business with a florist that is so unprofessional and just plain arrogant. I called this florist and asked for an arrangement from the website. As I was describing to the first young women that answered the phone that I wanted to change the colors and that I WAS IN NO HURRY BECAUSE IT WAS NOT GOING TO THE GRAVESITE BUT TO MY SISTER AND BROTHER IN LAWS. The young lady put me on hold and let another young lady pick up. I was not asked if this could be done it was just done but knew from the voice change. I went again over my idea for the arrangement but stated you guys are the florist just make it pretty and in no hurry due to the color and flower type were not in stock that day. Just wait or call me back. My brother in law received the flowers two days later and they were not what I asked for at all and the florist put no effort into making them look nicely. I called and talked to the manager and he said he knew it looked terrible, but I had asked for yellow flowers. I explained to him that I trusted them as a florist I trusted and told the two young ladies that please wait on the flowers and the colors I asked of them. I explained that there were no hurry at all even if it took weeks. He said he would not give me a partial refund but offered a gift card, well I said why would I want a gift card? He said that well if you are not going to stay a customer then why must I listen to you. I told him that I would write up a review and he said he didn't care and that it will not hurt his business at all. Nick at Stemz could not have done anything more perfect for my daughter, Anna's, wedding. He went above and beyond to provide everything we wanted and to make sure everything looked perfect. Nick constantly checked with me about what we were ordering, how we wanted it to look, the colors of the flowers, setup time, and providing me with the extra flowers I needed to make arrangements for our tables. Not great. I was disappointed. Stopped in to by cut flowers for my Mother in law. First time in. Waited for employee to get off the phone with another customer because the other employee was training and unsure of what to do. No big deal it was my fault I was in a hurry and figured it was worth it to shop local. Picked out the stems and had to request they be cut and arranged and wrapped. The employee was going to put them in a wet floral bag and hand them over? They did what I asked, wrapped in brown grocery store paper - not pretty paper. $40. My Mom lives in Foley at an assisted living home. Her three sons live all across the US. We are not there each week to see her. I called the owner of Stemz and said I wanted the three sons to send Mom a fresh bouquet of flowers delivered to her each week. He worked out a great plan and price for us. Mom's flowers are delivered every Thursday. Like clockwork, Mom calls me every thursday to rave how wonderful the flowers are! Had a wedding consult scheduled, when I arrived the girl at the front desk told us the florist couldn't make it in. I had driven from mobile for the consult. I was given no heads up that she was not going to be able to make it. Never offered a rescheduled time. Then the front desk girl says I can take your info. So we sit down and go over everything I need for the wedding. She was not a florist and not very knowledgeable about prices or types of flowers. Offered no suggestions to help. When we got done she said the florist would email me with an estimate. NEVER GOT AN EMAIL or call or anything. Guess who is not getting my business. (no offense Grandma I love your couch) But they have taken the flower shop game to the next level by always updating the styles of their arrangements and having a unique gift selection. Last time I was in there they had some cool Buddha head pots with plants growing out of them. I Ordered An arrangement for Valentine's day (early mind you) and it got there early and my fiance loved it, but that may have been because of the candy fudge apples I ordered (he has a pretty strong sweet tooth). I'm quite certain that this florist was delivering other flowers to the same funeral and not bothering to take care of our order, unforgivable. When I called the shop, the owner was unapologetic. Stemz used to be THE place to get the best flowers and service in South Baldwin County. However, the driving forces that started this business have since left, but I only found that out too late. When my mother passed away this spring the only place that I thought of was Stemz. Sadly, the casket arrangement was a HUGE disappointment. I had chosen an arrangement from one of their books that would have covered the length of the casket, since it would be a closed casket service. I paid for an arrangement that would cover the length of the entire casket, but what they delivered was a rather small casket spray that had about 1/2 the flowers it should have, but, as if that wasn't bad enough, they delivered the arrangement AFTER the calling hours had begun. I had to call them after I arrived at the Church to find out where they were. Then, they just handed the flowers (and other plants that had been ordered from them by others) to my brother and cousins rather than actually bringing them and placing them. Since Lisa is no longer there, apparently, I would never use them again and would strongly urge others to find a new florist. read more

I ordered flowers for my wife today. They were not delivered until 4:15 this afternoon. The gentlemen that I spoke to was very rude, and gave me several excuses to why they were not delivered. He told me that "He would try to get them there" this was hours after I paid for them... and his "driver was only 17 and couldn't find the place".... not my problem.... I will never use this florist again and will not recommend them. We are local business owners, and work in customer service, this company needs to seek customer service classes. This is why we will stick with Flowers By The Shore in Gulf Shores. They are a lot more professional, friendlier, and prompt! This was the First and Last time we will use Stemz......
